5 Figliuoli di Jafet: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Mescec e Tiras.6 Figliuoli di Gomer: Ashkenaz, Rifat Togarma.7 Figliuoli di Javan: Elisha, Tarsis, Kittim e Rodanim.

8 Figliuoli di Cam: Cush, Mitsraim, Put e Canaan.9 Figliuoli di Cush: Seba, Havila, Sabta, Raama e Sabteca. 17 Figliuoli di Sem: Elam, Assur, Arpacshad, Lud e Aram; Uz, Hul, Ghether e Mescec.18 Arpacshad generò Scelah, e Scelah generò Eber.19 Ad Eber nacquero due figliuoli: il nome dell’uno fu Peleg, perché ai suoi giorni la terra fu spartita; e il nome del suo fratello fu Joktan.20 Joktan generò Almodad, Scelef, Hatsarmaveth, Jerah,21 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,22 Ebal, Abimael, Sceba, Ofir, Havila e Jobab.23 Tutti questi furono figliuoli di Joktan.

24 Sem, Arpacshad, Scelah,25 Eber, Peleg, Reu,26 Serug, Nahor, Terah,27 Abramo, che è Abrahamo.

28 Figliuoli di Abrahamo: Isacco e Ismaele.

29 Questi sono i loro discendenti: il primogenito d’Ismaele fu Nebaioth; poi, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,30 Mishma, Duma, Massa, Hadad, Tema,31 Jetur, Nafish e Kedma. Questi furono i figliuoli d’Ismaele.

32 Figliuoli di Ketura, concubina d’Abrahamo: essa partorì Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Madian, Jishbak e Shuach. Figliuoli di Jokshan: Sceba e Dedan.33 Figliuoli di Madian: Efa, Efer, Hanoch, Abida ed Eldaa. Tutti questi furono i figliuoli di Ketura.34 Abrahamo generò Isacco. Figliuoli d’Isacco: Esaù e Israele.

35 Figliuoli di Esaù: Elifaz, Reuel, Ieush, Ialam e Korah.36 Figliuoli di Elifaz: Teman, Omar, Tsefi, Gatam, Kenaz, Timna ed Amalek.37 Figliuoli di Reuel: Nahath, Zerach, Shammah e Mizza.38 Figliuoli di Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Tsibeon, Ana, Dishon, Etser e Dishan.39 Figliuoli di Lotan: Hori e Homam; e la sorella di Lotan fu Timna.40 Figliuoli di Shobal: Alian, Manahath, Ebal, Scefi e Onam. 43 Questi sono i re che regnarono nel paese di Edom prima che alcun re regnasse sui figliuoli d’Israele: Bela, figliuolo di Beor; e il nome della sua città fu Dinhaba.44 Bela morì e Jobab, figliuolo di Zerach, di Botsra, regnò in luogo suo.45 Jobab morì, e Husham, del paese de’ Temaniti, regnò in luogo suo.46 Husham morì, e Hadad, figliuolo di Bedad, che sconfisse i Madianiti ne’ campi di Moab, regnò in luogo suo; e il nome della sua città era Avith.47 Hadad morì, e Samla, di Masreka, regnò in luogo suo.48 Samla morì, e Saul di Rehoboth sul Fiume, regnò in luogo suo.49 Saul morì, e Baal-Hanan, figliuolo di Acbor, regnò in luogo suo.50 Baal-Hanan morì, e Hadad regnò in luogo suo. Il nome della sua città fu Pai, e il nome della sua moglie, Mehetabeel, figliuola di Matred, figliuola di Mezahab.

51 E Hadad morì. I capi di Edom furono: il capo Timna, il capo Alva, il capo Ietheth,52 il capo Oholibama, il capo Ela, il capo Pinon,53 il capo Kenaz, il capo Teman, il capo Mibtsar,54 il capo Magdiel, il capo Iram. Questi sono i capi di Edom.

17 The sons of Shem:

18 Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah was the father of Eber.

19 Two sons were born to Eber: the first was named Peleg, for during his lifetime the earth was divided;s his brother’s name was Joktan.
20 Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,21 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,22 Ebal,s Abimael, Sheba,

23 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
24 Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,s25 Eber, Peleg, Reu,26 Serug, Nahor, Terah,

27 Abram (that is, Abraham).

28 The sons of Abraham:
Isaac and Ishmael.

29 These were their descendants:
Ishmael’s firstborn son was Nebaioth; the others weret Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

30 Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,

31 Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These were the sons of Ishmael.

Keturah’s Descendants

32 The sons to whom Keturah, Abraham’s concubine,s gave birth:
Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, Shuah.
The sons of Jokshan:
Sheba and Dedan.

33 The sons of Midian:
Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.

Isaac’s Descendants

34 Abraham was the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac:
Esau and Israel.

35 The sons of Esau:
Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

36 The sons of Eliphaz:

45 When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites succeeded him.

46 When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad succeeded him. He struck down the Midianites in the plains of Moab; the name of his city was Avith.

47 When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah succeeded him.

48 When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the riverts succeeded him.

49 When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan son of Achbor succeeded him.

50 When Baal-Hanan died, Hadad succeeded him; the name of his city was Pai.s His wife was Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-Zahab.

51 Hadad died.
