1 アダム、セツ、エノス、2 ケナン、マハラレル、ヤレド、3 エノク、メトセラ、ラメク、4 ノア、セム、ハム、ヤペテ。5 ヤペテの子らはゴメル、マゴグ、マダイ、ヤワン、トバル、メセク、テラス。6 ゴメルの子らはアシケナズ、デパテ、トガルマ。7 ヤワンの子らはエリシャ、タルシシ、キッテム、ロダニム。8 ハムの子らはクシ、エジプト、プテ、カナン。9 クシの子らはセバ、ハビラ、サブタ、ラアマ、サブテカ。ラアマの子らはシバとデダン。10 クシはニムロデを生んだ。ニムロデは初めて世の権力ある者となった。11 エジプトはルデびと、アナムびと、レハブびと、ナフトびと、12 パテロスびと、カスルびと、カフトルびとを生んだ。カフトルびとからペリシテびとが出た。13 カナンは長子シドンとヘテを生んだ。14 またエブスびと、アモリびと、ギルガシびと、15 ヒビびと、アルキびと、セニびと、16 アルワデびと、ゼマリびと、ハマテびとを生んだ。17 セムの子らはエラム、アシュル、アルパクサデ、ルデ、アラム、ウズ、ホル、ゲテル、メセクである。18 アルパクサデはシラを生み、シラはエベルを生んだ。19 エベルにふたりの子が生れた。ひとりの名はペレグ-彼の代に地の民が散り分れたからである-その弟の名はヨクタンといった。20 ヨクタンはアルモダデ、シャレフ、ハザル・マウテ、エラ、21 ハドラム、ウザル、デクラ、22 エバル、アビマエル、シバ、23 オフル、ハビラ、ヨバブを生んだ。これらはみなヨクタンの子である。24 セム、アルパクサデ、シラ、25 エベル、ペレグ、リウ、26 セルグ、ナホル、テラ、27 アブラムすなわちアブラハムである。28 アブラハムの子らはイサクとイシマエルである。29 彼らの子孫は次のとおりである。イシマエルの長子はネバヨテ、次はケダル、アデビエル、ミブサム、30 ミシマ、ドマ、マッサ、ハダデ、テマ、31 エトル、ネフシ、ケデマ。これらはイシマエルの子孫である。32 アブラハムのそばめケトラの子孫は次のとおりである。彼女はジムラン、ヨクシャン、メダン、ミデアン、イシバク、シュワを産んだ。ヨクシャンの子らはシバとデダンである。33 ミデアンの子らはエパ、エペル、ヘノク、アビダ、エルダア。これらはみなケトラの子孫である。34 アブラハムはイサクを生んだ。イサクの子らはエサウとイスラエル。35 エサウの子らはエリパズ、リウエル、エウシ、ヤラム、コラ。36 エリパズの子らはテマン、オマル、ゼピ、ガタム、ケナズ、テムナ、アマレク。37 リウエルの子らはナハテ、ゼラ、シャンマ、ミッザ。38 セイルの子らはロタン、ショバル、ヂベオン、アナ、デション、エゼル、デシャン。39 ロタンの子らはホリとホマム。ロタンの妹はテムナ。40 ショバルの子らはアルヤン、マナハテ、エバル、シピ、オナム。ヂベオンの子らはアヤとアナ。41 アナの子はデション。デションの子らはハムラン、エシバン、イテラン、ケラン。42 エゼルの子らはビルハン、ザワン、ヤカン。デシャンの子らはウズとアラン。43 イスラエルの人々を治める王がまだなかった時、エドムの地を治めた王たちは次のとおりである。ベオルの子ベラ。その都の名はデナバといった。44 ベラが死んで、ボズラのゼラの子ヨバブが代って王となった。45 ヨバブが死んで、テマンびとの地のホシャムが代って王となった。46 ホシャムが死んで、ベダテの子ハダデが代って王となった。彼はモアブの野でミデアンを撃った。彼の都の名はアビテといった。47 ハダデが死んで、マスレカのサムラが代って王となった。48 サムラが死んで、ユフラテ川のほとりのレホボテのサウルが代って王となった。49 サウルが死んで、アクボルの子バアル・ハナンが代って王となった。50 バアル・ハナンが死んで、ハダデが代って王となった。彼の都の名はパイといった。彼の妻はマテレデの娘であって、名をメヘタベルといった。マテレデはメザハブの娘である。51 ハダデも死んだ。エドムの族長は、テムナ侯、アルヤ侯、エテテ侯、52 アホリバマ侯、エラ侯、ピノン侯、53 ケナズ侯、テマン侯、ミブザル侯、54 マグデエル侯、イラム侯。これらはエドムの族長である。

1 Adam, Seth, Enosh,2 Kenan, Mahalalel, Jered,3 Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech,

4 Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.ss

Japheth’s Descendants

5 The sons of Japheth:
Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

6 The sons of Gomer:
Ashkenaz, Riphath,s and Togarmah.

7 The sonst of Javan:
Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites, and the Rodanites.st

Ham’s Descendants

8 The sons of Ham:
Cush, Mizraim,t Put, and Canaan.

9 The sons of Cush:
Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raamah, and Sabteca.
The sons of Raamah:
Sheba and Dedan.

10 Cush was the father of Nimrod, who established himself as a mighty warrior on earth.t
11 Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites,

12 Pathrusites, Casluhites (from whom the Philistines descendedt), and the Caphtorites.
13 Canaan was the father of Sidon – his firstborn – and Heth,14 as well as the Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites,15 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,

16 Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites.

Shem’s Descendants

17 The sons of Shem:
Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.
The sons of Aram:s
Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.s
18 Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah was the father of Eber.

19 Two sons were born to Eber: the first was named Peleg, for during his lifetime the earth was divided;s his brother’s name was Joktan.
20 Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,21 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,22 Ebal,s Abimael, Sheba,

23 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
24 Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,s25 Eber, Peleg, Reu,26 Serug, Nahor, Terah,

27 Abram (that is, Abraham).

28 The sons of Abraham:
Isaac and Ishmael.

29 These were their descendants:
Ishmael’s firstborn son was Nebaioth; the others weret Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

Ishmael’s Descendants

30 Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,

31 Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These were the sons of Ishmael.

Keturah’s Descendants

32 The sons to whom Keturah, Abraham’s concubine,s gave birth:
Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, Shuah.
The sons of Jokshan:
Sheba and Dedan.

33 The sons of Midian:
Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.

Isaac’s Descendants

34 Abraham was the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac:
Esau and Israel.

Esau’s Descendants

35 The sons of Esau:
Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

36 The sons of Eliphaz:
Teman, Omar, Zephi,s Gatam, Kenaz, and (by Timna) Amalek.t

37 The sons of Reuel:
Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

The Descendants of Seir

38 The sons of Seir:
Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.

39 The sons of Lotan:
Hori and Homam. (Timna was Lotan’s sister.)t

40 The sons of Shobal:
Alyan,s Manahath, Ebal, Shephi,s and Onam.
The sons of Zibeon:
Aiah and Anah.

41 The sont of Anah:
Dishon.
The sons of Dishon:
Hamran,t Eshban, Ithran, and Keran.

42 The sons of Ezer:
Bilhan, Zaavan, Jaakan.t
The sons of Dishan:s
Uz and Aran.

Kings of Edom

43 These were the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king ruled over the Israelites:
Bela son of Beor; the name of his city was Dinhabah.

44 When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah, succeeded him.t

45 When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites succeeded him.

46 When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad succeeded him. He struck down the Midianites in the plains of Moab; the name of his city was Avith.

47 When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah succeeded him.

48 When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the riverts succeeded him.

49 When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan son of Achbor succeeded him.

50 When Baal-Hanan died, Hadad succeeded him; the name of his city was Pai.s His wife was Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-Zahab.

51 Hadad died.
