1 ADAM, Seth, Enos,2 Cainán, Mahalaleel, Jared,3 Enoch, Mathusalem, Lamech,4 Noé, Sem, Châm, y Japhet.5 Los hijos de Japhet: Gomer, Magog, Dadai, Javán, Tubal, Mesec, y Thiras.6 Los hijos de Gomer: Askenaz, Riphath, y Thogorma.7 Los hijos de Javán: Elisa, Tharsis, Chîthim, y Dodanim.8 Los hijos de Châm: Chûs, Misraim, Phuth, y Canaán.9 Los hijos de Chûs: Seba, Havila, Sabtha, Raema, y Sabtechâ. Y los hijos de Raema: Seba y Dedán.10 Chûs engendró á Nimrod: éste comenzó á ser poderoso en la tierra.11 Misram engendró á Ludim, Ananim, Laabim, Nephtuim,12 Phetrusim y Casluim: de éstos salieron los Filisteos, y los Caphtoreos.13 Canaán engendró á Sidón, su primogénito;14 Y al Hetheo, y al Jebuseo, y al Amorrheo, y al Gergeseo;15 Y al Heveo, y al Araceo, y al Sineo;16 Al Aradeo, y al Samareo, y al Hamatheo.17 Los hijos de Sem: Elam, Assur, Arphaxad, Lud, Aram, Hus, Hul, Gether, y Mesec.18 Arphaxad engendró á Sela, y Sela engendró á Heber.19 Y á Heber nacieron dos hijos: el nombre del uno fué Peleg, por cuanto en sus días fué dividida la tierra; y el nombre de su hermano fué Joctán.20 Y Joctán engendró á Elmodad, Seleph, Asarmaveth, y Jera,21 A Adoram también, á Uzal, Dicla,22 Hebal, Abimael, Seba,23 Ophir, Havila, y Jobab: todos hijos de Joctán.24 Sem, Arphaxad, Sela,25 Heber, Peleg, Reu,26 Serug, Nachôr, Thare,27 Y Abram, el cual es Abraham.

28 Los hijos de Abraham: Isaac é Ismael.

29 Y estas son sus descendencias: el primogénito de Ismael, Nabajoth; después Cedar, Adbeel, Misam,

30 Misma, Duma, Maasa, Hadad, Thema, Jetur, Naphis, y Cedma. Estos son los hijos de Ismael.

31 Y Cethura, concubina de Abraham, parió á Zimram, Jocsán, Medán, Madián, Isbac, y á Súa.

32 Los hijos de Jobsán: Seba y Dedán.

33 Los hijos de Madián: Epha, Epher, Henoch, Abida, y Eldaa; todos estos fueron hijos de Cethura.

34 Y Abraham engendró á Isaac: y los hijos de Isaac fueron Esaú é Israel.

35 Los hijos de Esaú: Eliphas, Rehuel, Jeus, Jalam, y Cora.

36 Los hijos de Eliphas: Themán, Omar, Sephi, Hatham, Chênas, Timna, y Amalec.

37 Los hijos de Rehuel: Nahath, Zera, Samma, y Mizza.

38 Los hijos de Seir: Lotán, Sobal, Sibeón, Ana, Disón, Eser, y Disán.

39 Los hijos de Lotán: Hori, y Homam: y Timna fué hermana de Lotán.

40 Los hijos de Sobal: Alian, Manahach, Ebal, Sephi y Oman. Los hijos de Sibehom: Aia, y Ana.

41 Disón fué hijo de Ana: y los hijos de Disón; Hamrán, Hesbán, Ithran y Chêrán.

42 Los hijos de Eser: Bilham, Zaaván, y Jaacán. Los hijos de Disán: Hus y Arán.

43 Y estos son los reyes que reinaron en la tierra de Edom, antes que reinase rey sobre los hijos de Israel Belah, hijo de Beor; y el nombre de su ciudad fué Dinaba.

44 Y muerto Belah, reinó en su lugar Jobab, hijo de Zera, de Bosra.

45 Y muerto Jobab reinó en su lugar Husam, de la tierra de los Themanos.

46 Muerto Husam, reinó en su lugar Adad, hijo de Bedad, el cual hirió á Madián en la campaña de Moab: y el nombre de su ciudad fué Avith.

47 Muerto Adad, reinó en su lugar Samla, de Masreca.

48 Muerto también Samla, reinó en su lugar Saúl de Rehoboth, que está junto al río.

49 Y muerto Saúl, reinó en su lugar Baal-hanán, hijo de Achbor.

50 Y muerto Baal-hanán, reinó en su lugar Adad, el nombre de cuya ciudad fué Pai; y el nombre de su mujer Meetabel, hija de Matred, y ésta de Mezaab.

51 Muerto Adad, sucedieron los duques en Edom: el duque Timna, el duque Alia, el duque Jetheth,

52 El duque Oholibama, el duque Ela, el duque Phinón,

53 El duque Chênaz, el duque Themán, el duque Mibzar,

54 El duque Magdiel, el duque Iram. Estos fueron los duques de Edom.

Japheth’s Descendants

5 The sons of Japheth:
Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

6 The sons of Gomer:
Ashkenaz, Riphath,s and Togarmah.

7 The sonst of Javan:
Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites, and the Rodanites.st

Ham’s Descendants

8 The sons of Ham:
Cush, Mizraim,t Put, and Canaan.

9 The sons of Cush:
Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raamah, and Sabteca.
The sons of Raamah:
Sheba and Dedan.

10 Cush was the father of Nimrod, who established himself as a mighty warrior on earth.t
11 Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, Anamites, Lehabites, Naphtuhites,

12 Pathrusites, Casluhites (from whom the Philistines descendedt), and the Caphtorites.
13 Canaan was the father of Sidon – his firstborn – and Heth,14 as well as the Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites,15 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,

16 Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites.

Shem’s Descendants

17 The sons of Shem:
Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.
The sons of Aram:s
Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.s
18 Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah was the father of Eber.

19 Two sons were born to Eber: the first was named Peleg, for during his lifetime the earth was divided;s his brother’s name was Joktan.
20 Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,21 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,22 Ebal,s Abimael, Sheba,

23 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
24 Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,s25 Eber, Peleg, Reu,26 Serug, Nahor, Terah,

27 Abram (that is, Abraham).

28 The sons of Abraham:
Isaac and Ishmael.

29 These were their descendants:
Ishmael’s firstborn son was Nebaioth; the others weret Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

Ishmael’s Descendants

30 Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,

31 Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These were the sons of Ishmael.

Keturah’s Descendants

32 The sons to whom Keturah, Abraham’s concubine,s gave birth:
Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, Shuah.
The sons of Jokshan:
Sheba and Dedan.

33 The sons of Midian:
Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.

Isaac’s Descendants

34 Abraham was the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac:
Esau and Israel.

Esau’s Descendants

35 The sons of Esau:
Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

36 The sons of Eliphaz:
Teman, Omar, Zephi,s Gatam, Kenaz, and (by Timna) Amalek.t

37 The sons of Reuel:
Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

The Descendants of Seir

38 The sons of Seir:
Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.

39 The sons of Lotan:
Hori and Homam. (Timna was Lotan’s sister.)t

40 The sons of Shobal:
Alyan,s Manahath, Ebal, Shephi,s and Onam.
The sons of Zibeon:
Aiah and Anah.

41 The sont of Anah:
Dishon.
The sons of Dishon:
Hamran,t Eshban, Ithran, and Keran.

42 The sons of Ezer:
Bilhan, Zaavan, Jaakan.t

Kings of Edom

43 These were the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king ruled over the Israelites:
Bela son of Beor; the name of his city was Dinhabah.

44 When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah, succeeded him.t

45 When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites succeeded him.

46 When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad succeeded him. He struck down the Midianites in the plains of Moab; the name of his city was Avith.

47 When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah succeeded him.

48 When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the riverts succeeded him.

49 When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan son of Achbor succeeded him.

50 When Baal-Hanan died, Hadad succeeded him; the name of his city was Pai.s His wife was Mehetabel, daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-Zahab.

51 Hadad died.
