1 Dies sind die Söhne Israels: Ruben, Simeon, Levi und Juda, Issaschar und Sebulon,2 Dan, Joseph und Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad und Aser.3 Die Söhne Judas: Gher und Onan und Schela; diese drei wurden ihm geboren von der Tochter Schuas, der Kanaaniterin. Und Gher, der Erstgeborene Judas, war böse in den Augen Jehovas, und er tötete ihn.4 Und Tamar, seine Schwiegertochter, gebar ihm Perez und Serach. Aller Söhne Judas waren fünf.5 Die Söhne des Perez waren: Hezron und Hamul.6 Und die Söhne Serachs: Simri und Ethan und Heman und Kalkol und Dara; ihrer aller waren fünf. -7 Und die Söhne Karmis: Achar, der Israel in Trübsal brachte, weil er Untreue beging an dem Verbannten.8 Und die Söhne Ethans: Asarja. -9 Und die Söhne Hezrons, die ihm geboren wurden: Jerachmeel und Ram und Kelubai.10 Und Ram zeugte Amminadab; und Amminadab zeugte Nachschon, den Fürsten der Kinder Juda.11 Und Nachschon zeugte Salma, und Salma zeugte Boas,12 und Boas zeugte Obed, und Obed zeugte Isai.13 Und Isai zeugte Eliab, seinen Erstgeborenen; und Abinadab, den zweiten; und Schimea, den dritten;14 Nethaneel, den vierten; Raddai, den fünften;15 Ozem, den sechsten; David, den siebten.16 Und ihre Schwestern waren: Zeruja und Abigail. Und die Söhne der Zeruja: Abisai und Joab und Asael, drei.17 Und Abigail gebar Amasa; und der Vater Amasas war Jether, der Ismaeliter.18 Und Kaleb, der Sohn Hezrons, zeugte Söhne mit Asuba, seinem Weibe, und mit Jerioth; und dies sind ihre Söhne: Jescher und Schobab und Ardon.19 Und Asuba starb; und Kaleb nahm sich Ephrath, und sie gebar ihm Hur.20 Und Hur zeugte Uri, und Uri zeugte Bezaleel. -21 Und danach ging Hezron ein zu der Tochter Makirs, des Vaters Gileads; und er nahm sie, als er sechzig Jahre alt war, und sie gebar ihm Segub.22 Und Segub zeugte Jair. Und dieser hatte dreiundzwanzig Städte im Lande Gilead;23 und Gesur und Aram nahmen ihnen die Dörfer Jairs weg, mit Kenath und seinen Tochterstädten, sechzig Städte. Diese alle waren Söhne Makirs, des Vaters Gileads.24 Und nach dem Tode Hezrons in Kaleb-Ephratha, da gebar Abija, Hezrons Weib, ihm Aschur, den Vater Tekoas.25 Und die Söhne Jerachmeels, des Erstgeborenen Hezrons, waren: Der Erstgeborene, Ram, und Buna und Oren und Ozem, von Achija.26 Und Jerachmeel hatte ein anderes Weib, ihr Name war Atara; sie war die Mutter Onams. -27 Und die Söhne Rams, des Erstgeborenen Jerachmeels, waren: Maaz und Jamin und Eker. -28 Und die Söhne Onams waren: Schammai und Jada. Und die Söhne Schammais: Nadab und Abischur.29 Und der Name des Weibes Abischurs war Abichail; und sie gebar ihm Achban und Molid.30 Und die Söhne Nadabs: Seled und Appaim. Und Seled starb ohne Söhne. -31 Und die Söhne Appaims: Jischhi. Und die Söhne Jischhis: Scheschan. Und die Söhne Scheschans: Achlai. -32 Und die Söhne Jadas, des Bruders Schammais: Jether und Jonathan. Und Jether starb ohne Söhne.33 Und die Söhne Jonathans: Peleth und Sasa. Das waren die Söhne Jerachmeels. -34 Und Scheschan hatte keine Söhne, sondern nur Töchter. Und Scheschan hatte einen ägyptischen Knecht, sein Name war Jarcha;35 und Scheschan gab seinem Knechte Jarcha seine Tochter zum Weibe, und sie gebar ihm Attai.36 Und Attai zeugte Nathan, und Nathan zeugte Sabad,37 und Sabad zeugte Ephlal, und Ephlal zeugte Obed,38 und Obed zeugte Jehu, und Jehu zeugte Asarja,39 und Asarja zeugte Helez, und Helez zeugte Elasa,40 und Elasa zeugte Sismai, und Sismai zeugte Schallum,41 und Schallum zeugte Jekamja, und Jekamja zeugte Elischama.42 Und die Söhne Kalebs, des Bruders Jerachmeels: Mescha, sein Erstgeborener (er ist der Vater Siphs), und die Söhne Mareschas, des Vaters Hebrons.43 Und die Söhne Hebrons: Korach und Tappuach und Rekem und Schema.44 Und Schema zeugte Racham, den Vater Jorkeams, und Rekem zeugte Schammai.45 Und der Sohn Schammais war Maon, und Maon war der Vater Beth-Zurs. -46 Und Epha, das Kebsweib Kalebs, gebar Haran und Moza und Gases. Und Haran zeugte Gases. -47 Und die Söhne Jehdais: Regem und Jotham und Geschan und Peleth und Epha und Schaaph. -48 Maaka, das Kebsweib Kalebs, gebar Scheber und Tirchana;49 und sie gebar Schaaph, den Vater Madmannas, Schewa, den Vater Makbenas, und den Vater Gibeas. Und die Tochter Kalebs war Aksa.50 Dies waren die Söhne Kalebs: Die Söhne Hurs, des Erstgeborenen der Ephratha: Schobal, der Vater von Kirjath-Jearim;51 Salma, der Vater von Bethlehem; Hareph, der Vater von Beth-Gader.52 Und Schobal, der Vater von Kirjath-Jearim, hatte Söhne: Haroeh, Hazi-Hammenuchoth;53 und die Geschlechter von Kirjath-Jearim waren: die Jithriter und die Puthiter und die Schumathiter und die Mischraiter; von diesen sind ausgegangen die Zorathiter und die Estauliter. -54 Die Söhne Salmas: Bethlehem, und die Netophathiter, Ateroth-Beth-Joab, und Hazi-Hammanachti, die Zoriter;55 und die Geschlechter der Schreiber, welche Jabez bewohnten: die Tirathiter, die Schimathiter, die Sukathiter. Das sind die Keniter, die von Hammath, dem Vater des Hauses Rekab, herkommen.

Israel’s Descendants

1 These were the sons of Israel:t
Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah;
Issachar and Zebulun;

2 Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin;
Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

Judah’s Descendants

3 The sons of Judah:
Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born to him by Bathshua,t a Canaanite woman. Er, Judah’s firstborn, displeased the Lord, so the Lord killed him.t

4 Tamar, Judah’st daughter-in-law, bore to him Perez and Zerah. Judah had five sons in all.

5 The sons of Perez:
Hezron and Hamul.

6 The sons of Zerah:
Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Kalkol, Daras – five in all.

7 The sont of Carmi:
Achan,s who brought the disaster on Israel when he stole what was devoted to God.t

8 The sont of Ethan:
Azariah.

9 The sons born to Hezron:
Jerahmeel, Ram, and Caleb.t

Ram’s Descendants

10 Ram was the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab was the father of Nahshon, the tribal chief of Judah.11 Nahshon was the father of Salma,s and Salma was the father of Boaz.

12 Boaz was the father of Obed, and Obed was the father of Jesse.
13 Jesse was the father of Eliab, his firstborn; Abinadab was born second, Shimea third,14 Nethanel fourth, Raddai fifth,15 Ozem sixth, David seventh.16 Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. Zeruiah’s three sons were Abshai,t Joab, and Asahel.

17 Abigail bore Amasa, whose father was Jether the Ishmaelite.

Caleb’s Descendants

18 Caleb son of Hezron fathered sons by his wife Azubah (also known as Jerioth).t Her sons were Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.19 When Azubah died, Caleb marriedt Ephrath, who bore him Hur.

20 Hur was the father of Uri, and Uri was the father of Bezalel.
21 Laters Hezron had sexual relations witht the daughter of Makir, the father of Gilead. (He had marriedt her when he was sixty years old.) She bore him Segub.22 Segub was the father of Jair, who owned twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.

23 (Geshur and Aram captured the towns of Jair,t along with Kenath and its sixty surrounding towns.) All these were descendants of Makir, the father of Gilead.

24 After Hezron’s death, Caleb had sexual relations with Ephrath, his father Hezron’s widow, and she bore to him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.t

Jerahmeel’s Descendants

25 The sons of Jerahmeel, Hezron’s firstborn, were Ram, the firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.

26 Jerahmeel had another wife named Atarah; she was Onam’s mother.

27 The sons of Ram, Jerahmeel’s firstborn, were Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.

28 The sons of Onam were Shammai and Jada.
The sons of Shammai:
Nadab and Abishur.

29 Abishur’s wife was Abihail, who bore him Ahban and Molid.

30 The sons of Nadab:
Seled and Appaim. (Seled died without having sons.)

31 The sont of Appaim:
Ishi.
The son of Ishi:
Sheshan.
The son of Sheshan:
Ahlai.

32 The sons of Jada, Shammai’s brother:
Jether and Jonathan. (Jether died without having sons.)

33 The sons of Jonathan:
Peleth and Zaza.
These were the descendants of Jerahmeel.
34 Sheshan had no sons, only daughters. Sheshan had an Egyptian servant named Jarha.

35 Sheshan gave his daughter to his servant Jarha as a wife; she bore him Attai.
36 Attai was the father of Nathan, and Nathan was the father of Zabad.37 Zabad was the father of Ephlal, and Ephlal was the father of Obed.38 Obed was the father of Jehu, and Jehu was the father of Azariah.39 Azariah was the father of Helez, and Helez was the father of Eleasah.40 Eleasah was the father of Sismai, and Sismai was the father of Shallum.

41 Shallum was the father of Jekamiah, and Jekamiah was the father of Elishama.

42 The sons of Caleb, Jerahmeel’s brother:
His firstborn Mesha, the father of Ziph, and his second son Mareshah,s the father of Hebron.

43 The sons of Hebron:
Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema.
44 Shema was the father of Raham, the father of Jorkeam. Rekem was the father of Shammai.

45 Shammai’s son was Maon, who was the father of Beth-Zur.

46 Caleb’s concubines Ephah bore Haran, Moza, and Gazez. Haran was the father of Gazez.

47 The sons of Jahdai:
Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.
48 Caleb’s concubine Maacah bore Sheber and Tirhanah.

49 She also bore Shaaph the father of Madmannah and Sheva the father of Machbenah and Gibea. Caleb’s daughter was Achsah.

50 These were the descendants of Caleb.
The sonst of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrath:t
Shobal, the father of Kiriath Jearim,

51 Salma, the father of Bethlehem, Hareph, the father of Beth-Gader.
52 The sons of Shobal, the father of Kiriath Jearim, were Haroeh, half of the Manahathites,t

53 the clans of Kiriath Jearim – the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites, and Mishraites. (The Zorathites and Eshtaolites descended from these groups.)t

54 The sons of Salma:
Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth Beth-Joab, half the Manahathites, the Zorites,

55 and the clans of the scribest who lived in Jabez: the Tirathites, Shimeathites, and Sucathites. These are the Kenites who descendedt from Hammath, the father of Beth-Rechab.t
