1. Korinther 1

1 Paulus, berufener Apostel Jesu Christi durch Gottes Willen, und Sosthenes , der Bruder,2 an die Gemeinde Gottes, die in Korinth ist, an die Geheiligten in Christus Jesus, an die berufenen Heiligen, samt allen, die den Namen unseres Herrn Jesus Christus anrufen an jedem Ort, sowohl bei ihnen als auch bei uns:3 Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott, unserem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!4 Ich danke meinem Gott allezeit euretwegen für die Gnade Gottes, die euch in Christus Jesus gegeben ist,5 dass ihr in allem reich gemacht worden seid in ihm, in allem Wort und in aller Erkenntnis ,6 wie denn das Zeugnis von Christus in euch gefestigt worden ist,7 sodass ihr keinen Mangel habt an irgendeiner Gnadengabe, während ihr die Offenbarung unseres Herrn Jesus Christus erwartet,8 der euch auch fest machen t wird bis ans Ende, sodass ihr unverklagbar seid am Tag unseres Herrn Jesus Christus.9 Gott ist treu , durch den ihr berufen seid zur Gemeinschaft mit seinem Sohn Jesus Christus, t unserem Herrn.10 Ich ermahne euch aber, ihr Brüder, kraft des Namens unseres Herrn Jesus Christus, dass ihr alle einmütig seid in eurem Reden t und keine Spaltungen unter euch zulasst, sondern vollkommen zusammengefügt seid t in derselben Gesinnung und in derselben Überzeugung .11 Mir ist nämlich, meine Brüder, durch die Leute der Chloe bekannt geworden , dass Streitigkeiten unter euch sind.12 Ich rede aber davon, dass jeder von euch sagt: Ich gehöre zu Paulus! - Ich aber zu Apollos ! - Ich aber zu Kephas ! - Ich aber zu Christus !13 Ist Christus denn zerteilt ? Ist etwa Paulus für euch gekreuzigt worden, oder seid ihr auf den Namen des Paulus getauft?14 Ich danke Gott, dass ich niemand von euch getauft habe, außer Krispus und Gajus ;15 so kann doch niemand sagen, ich hätte auf meinen Namen getauft!16 Ich habe aber auch das Haus des Stephanas getauft. Sonst weiß ich nicht, ob ich noch jemand getauft habe;17 denn Christus hat mich nicht gesandt zu taufen, sondern das Evangelium zu verkündigen, [und zwar] nicht in Redeweisheit t , damit nicht das Kreuz des Christus entkräftet t wird.18 Denn das Wort vom Kreuz ist eine Torheit denen, die verlorengehen ; uns aber, die wir gerettet werden, ist es eine Gotteskraft ;19 denn es steht geschrieben: »Ich will zunichtemachen die Weisheit der Weisen, und den Verstand der Verständigen will ich verwerfen« . t20 Wo ist der Weise, wo der Schriftgelehrte, wo der Wortgewaltige dieser Weltzeit? Hat nicht Gott die Weisheit dieser Welt zur Torheit gemacht?21 Denn weil die Welt durch [ihre] Weisheit Gott in seiner Weisheit nicht erkannte, gefiel es Gott, durch die Torheit der Verkündigung diejenigen zu retten, die glauben.22 Während nämlich die Juden ein Zeichen fordern und die Griechen Weisheit verlangen,23 verkündigen wir Christus den Gekreuzigten , den Juden ein Ärgernis , den Griechen eine Torheit ;24 denen aber, die berufen sind, sowohl Juden als auch Griechen, [verkündigen wir] Christus, Gottes Kraft und Gottes Weisheit .25 Denn das Törichte Gottes ist weiser als die Menschen, und das Schwache Gottes ist stärker als die Menschen.26 Seht doch eure Berufung an, ihr Brüder! Da sind nicht viele Weise nach dem Fleisch, nicht viele Mächtige , nicht viele Vornehme;27 sondern das Törichte der Welt hat Gott erwählt, um die Weisen zuschanden zu machen, und das Schwache der Welt hat Gott erwählt, um das Starke zuschanden zu machen;28 und das Unedle der Welt und das Verachtete hat Gott erwählt, und das, was nichts ist, damit er zunichtemache, was etwas ist,29 damit sich vor ihm kein Fleisch t rühme.30 Durch ihn aber seid ihr in Christus Jesus, der uns von Gott gemacht worden ist zur Weisheit , zur Gerechtigkeit , zur Heiligung und zur Erlösung ,31 damit [es geschehe], wie geschrieben steht: »Wer sich rühmen will, der rühme sich des Herrn!« t

2  t To God's church in Corinth. Christ Jesus chose you to be his very own people, and you worship in his name, as we and all others do who call him Lord.

3 My prayer is that God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and will bless you with peace!
4 I never stop thanking my God for treating you with undeserved grace by giving you Christ Jesus, 5 who helps you speak and understand so well. 6 Now you are certain that everything we told you about our Lord Christ Jesus is true. 7 You are not missing out on any blessings, as you wait for him to return. 8 And until the day Christ does return, he will keep you completely innocent.

9 God can be trusted, and he chose you to be partners with his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Taking Sides

12 t They have said that some of you claim to follow me, while others claim to follow Apollos or Petert or Christ.
13 Has Christ been divided up? Was I nailed to a cross for you? Were you baptized in my name? 14 t I thank Godt that I didn't baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius. 15 Not one of you can say that you were baptized in my name. 16 t I did baptize the familyt of Stephanas, but I don't remember if I baptized anyone else.

17 Christ did not send me to baptize. He sent me to tell the good news without using words that sound wise and would make the cross of Christ lose its power.

Christ Is God's Power //and Wisdom

19 t As God says in the Scriptures,
“I will destroy the wisdom
of all who claim
to be wise.
I will confuse those
who think they know
so much.”
20  t What happened to those wise people? What happened to those experts in the Scriptures? What happened to the ones who think they have all the answers? Didn't God show that the wisdom of this world is foolish?

21 t God was wise and decided not to let the people of this world use their wisdom to learn about him.
Instead, God chose to save only those who believe the foolish message we preach. 22 Jews ask for miracles, and Greeks want something that sounds wise. 23 But we preach that Christ was nailed to a cross. Most Jews have problems with this, and most Gentiles think it is foolish. 24 Our message is God's power and wisdom for the Jews and the Greeks that he has chosen.

25 Even when God is foolish, he is wiser than everyone else, and even when God is weak, he is stronger than everyone else.
26 My dear friends, remember what you were when God chose you. The people of this world didn't think that many of you were wise. Only a few of you were in places of power, and not many of you came from important families.

27 But God chose the foolish things of this world to put the wise to shame. He chose the weak things of this world to put the powerful to shame.
28 What the world thinks is worthless, useless, and nothing at all is what God has used to destroy what the world considers important. 29 God did all this to keep anyone from bragging to him. 30 You are God's children. He sent Christ Jesus to save us and to make us wise, acceptable, and holy. 31 t So if you want to brag, do what the Scriptures say and brag about the Lord.
