コリント人への第一の手紙 12

1 さて、皆さん。 聖霊様があなたがたに授けてくださった特別な才能について、書きたいと思います。 この点で、少しの誤解もないようにと願うからです。 2 覚えがあると思いますが、あなたがたはクリスチャンになる前、ひと言も口がきけない偶像のもとへ、あちこち出かけたものでした。 3 ところが、いま接している人たちは、自分は神の御霊から託されたことばを語っている、と主張する人たちです。 その人たちがほんとうに神様に導かれているのか、それとも、ただそんなふりをしているだけか、どのようにして見分ければよいでしょう。 そのためには、次の点に注意しなさい。 すなわち、神の御霊の力を受けている者はだれも、イエスをのろうことはできないし、また、聖霊様の助けがなければ、だれも、ほんとうの意味で、「イエスは主です」と告白できない、という点です。
4 ところで、神様は私たちに、いろいろな種類の特別な才能を与えてくださっていますが、みな、聖霊様から出たものです。 5 神様への奉仕はいろいろですが、私たちは同一の主に仕えているのです。6 神様は私たちの生活の中で、いろいろな方法で働きかけてくださいます。 しかし、神様のものとされた私たちの中で、また私たちを通してお働きになるのは、ただ一人の神様です。 7 聖霊様は、教会全体の利益のために、私たちを通して神様の力を現わしてくださるのです。
8 御霊様はある人に、賢明な助言者としての才能を与えておられます。 またある人には、研究し、人に教える点ですぐれた才能を与えておられます。 9 また、ある人には特別な信仰を与え、ある人には病気を治す力を与えておられます。 10 そのほか、奇蹟を行なう力が与えられている人もあれば、預言や説教をする力をいただいている人もいます。 また御霊様は、ある人には、「自分は神のことばを与えられている」と主張する人が、ほんとうに神の御霊によって語っているかどうかを見分ける力を、与えておられます。 そしてさらに、ある人には、異言〔今まで知らなかったことば〕で語る能力を与え、同時に、別の人にその異言を解き明かす能力を、授けておられるのです。 11 こうしたすべての賜物と力は、同一の聖霊様が思いのままに、私たちに与えてくださるのです。
12 人体には多くの部分がありますが、その各部分が結び合わされて、一つの体が成り立っています。 キリスト様の「体」についても、同じことが言えます。 13 私たちはそれぞれ、キリスト様の体の一部です。 ある者はユダヤ人、ある者は外国人、ある者は奴隷、ある者は自由人です。 しかし、聖霊様は、私たちをみな結び合わせて、一体としてくださいました。 私たちは、ただ一人の御霊様によって、キリスト様の体に結び合わされるバプテスマ（洗礼）を受け、みな、同じ神の霊を与えられているのです。
14 確かに、体はただ一つの部分からではなく、多くの部分から成り立っています。 15 たとい足が「私は手ではないから、体の一部ではない」と言いはったところで、体の一部でなくなるわけではありません。 16 また、もし耳が「私は耳で、目ではないから、体の一部ではない」などと言ったら、どうでしょう。 そんなことで、耳が体から離れることができますか。 17 考えてもごらんなさい。 もし体全体が目であれば、聞くことができるでしょうか。 もし体全体が巨大な一つの耳なら、においをかげるでしょうか。
18 しかし、神様は私たちの体を、そのように造られたのではありません。 体のために多くの部分を造り、各部分を思い通りに配置されました。 19 もし体が単一の器官でできていたら、それこそ、ばけものです。 20 ですから、神様は多くの器官を造られました。 しかし、やはり体は、ただ一つなのです。
21 目が手に、「私には、あなたなんか必要じゃない」などとは、決して言えません。 また、頭が足に、「あなたなんかいらない」とも言えません。
22 それどころか、一番弱く、一番不要だと思われている部分が、実は、最も必要なのです。 23 そうです。 私たちは、むしろ余分と思える部分が与えられていることを、特に喜ぶのです。 そして、人目にさらすべきでない部分は、人目から注意深く守ります。 24 一方、見られてもよい部分は、もちろん、特別な注意を要しません。 そのように、神様は、あまり重要視されない部分が特別に重んじられ、注意深く扱われるように、体を組み立ててくださったのです。 25 それは、各部分が幸福になり、互いにいたわり合うためです。 26 もし一つの部分が苦しむなら、すべての部分が共に苦しみます。 そして、一つの部分が重んじられれば、すべての部分が喜ぶのです。
27 そこで、私は次のことを言いたいのです。 すなわち、あなたがたは共に、キリストという一つの体であり、一人一人が、なくてはならない部分である、と。 28 キリスト様は、自分の体である教会を形成する個々の部分として、人々を次のように任命されました。
使徒、
預言者〔神のことばを伝える者〕、
教師、
奇蹟を行なう者、
病気を治す力のある者、
人々を援助する者、
人々の働きを管理する者、
異言で話す者。
29 皆が使徒でしょうか。 もちろん違います。 皆が説教者でしょうか。 違います。 皆が教師でしょうか。 皆が奇蹟を行なえるでしょうか。 30 皆が病気を治せるでしょうか。 もちろん、そんなことはできません。 神様は全員に、異言で話す能力を与えておられるのでしょうか。 またそれを、皆が理解し、解き明かすことができるでしょうか。 31 そんなことはありません。 しかし、あなたがたは、これらの賜物より、もっと大切なものを、全力を尽くして求めなさい。
ところで、まず、これらの賜物よりもすぐれたものについて教えましょう。

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.2 Ye know that when ye were Gentiles ye were led away unto those dumb idols, howsoever ye might led.3 Wherefore I make known unto you, that no man speaking in the Spirit of God saith, Jesus is anathema; and no man can say, Jesus is Lord, but in the Holy Spirit.4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.5 And there are diversities of ministrations, and the same Lord.6 And there are diversities of workings, but the same God, who worketh all things in all.7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit to profit withal.8 For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom; and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit:9 to another faith, in the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, in the one Spirit;10 and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues:11 but all these worketh the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each one severally even as he will.12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.13 For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit.14 For the body is not one member, but many.15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; it is not therefore not of the body.16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; it is not therefore not of the body.17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?18 But now hath God set the members each one of them in the body, even as it pleased him.19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?20 But now they are many members, but one body.21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee: or again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.22 Nay, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be more feeble are necessary:23 and those parts of the body, which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness;24 whereas our comely parts have no need: but God tempered the body together, giving more abundant honor to that part which lacked;25 that there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.26 And whether one member suffereth, all the members suffer with it; or one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and severally members thereof.28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, divers kinds of tongues.29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?30 have all gifts of healings? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?31 But desire earnestly the greater gifts. And moreover a most excellent way show I unto you.
