고린도전서 12

성령의 선물

1  t형제자매 여러분, 신령한 은사들에 대하여 여러분이 모르고 지내기를 나는 바라지 않습니다. 2 알다시피 여러분이 이방 사람일 때에는, 여러분은, 이리저리 끄는 대로, 말 못하는 우상에게로 끌려 다녔습니다. 3 그러므로 나는 여러분에게 알려드립니다. 하나님의 영으로 말하는 사람은 아무도 “예수는 저주를 받아라” 하고 말할 수 없고, 또 성령을 힘입지 않고서는 아무도 “예수는 주님이시다” 하고 말할 수 없습니다. 4 은사는 여러 가지지만, 그것을 주시는 분은 같은 성령이십니다. 5 섬기는 일은 여러 가지지만, 섬김을 받으시는 분은 같은 주님이십니다. 6 일의 성과는 여러 가지지만, 모든 사람에게서 모든 일을 하시는 분은 같은 하나님이십니다. 7 각 사람에게 성령을 나타내 주시는 것은 공동 이익을 위한 것입니다. 8 어떤 사람에게는 성령을 통하여 지혜의 말씀을 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령을 따라 지식의 말씀을 주십니다. 9 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령으로 믿음을 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령으로 병 고치는 은사를 주십니다. 10 어떤 사람에게는 기적을 행하는 능력을 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 예언하는 은사를 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 영을 분별하는 은사를 주십니다. 어떤 사람에게는 여러 가지 t방언을 말하는 은사를 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 그 t방언을 통역하는 은사를 주십니다. 11 이 모든 일은 한 분이신 같은 성령이 하시며, 그는 원하시는 대로 각 사람에게 은사를 나누어주십니다.

하나의 몸과 많은 지체들

12 몸은 하나이지만 많은 지체가 있고, 몸의 지체는 많지만 그들이 모두 한 몸이듯이, 그리스도도 그러하십니다. 13 우리는 유대 사람이든지 그리스 사람이든지, 종이든지 자유인이든지, 모두 한 성령으로 t세례를 받아서 한 몸이 되었고, 또 모두 한 성령을 마시게 되었습니다. 14 몸은 하나의 지체로 되어 있는 것이 아니라, 여러 지체로 되어 있습니다. 15 발이 말하기를 “나는 손이 아니니까, 몸에 속한 것이 아니다” 한다고 해서 발이 몸에 속하지 않은 것이 아닙니다. 16 또 귀가 말하기를 “나는 눈이 아니니까, 몸에 속한 것이 아니다” 한다고 해서 귀가 몸에 속하지 않은 것이 아닙니다. 17 온몸이 다 눈이라면, 어떻게 듣겠습니까? 또 온몸이 다 귀라면, 어떻게 냄새를 맡겠습니까? 18 그런데 실은 하나님께서는, 원하시는 대로, 우리 몸에다가 각각 다른 여러 지체를 두셨습니다. 19 전체가 하나의 지체로 되어 있다고 하면, 몸은 어디에 있습니까? 20 그런데 실은 지체는 여럿이지만, 몸은 하나입니다. 21 그러므로 눈이 손에게 말하기를 “너는 내게 쓸 데가 없다” 할 수가 없고, 머리가 발에게 말하기를 “너는 내게 쓸 데가 없다” 할 수 없습니다. 22 그뿐만 아니라, 몸의 지체 가운데서 비교적 더 약하게 보이는 지체들이 오히려 더 요긴합니다. 23 그리고 우리가 덜 명예스러운 것으로 여기는 지체들에게 더욱 풍성한 명예를 덧입히고, 볼품 없는 지체들을 더욱더 아름답게 꾸며 줍니다. 24 그러나 아름다운 지체들은 그럴 필요가 없습니다. 하나님께서는 몸을 골고루 짜 맞추셔서 모자라는 지체에게 더 풍성한 명예를 주셨습니다. 25 그래서 몸에 분열이 생기지 않게 하시고, 지체들이 서로 같이 걱정하게 하셨습니다. 26 한 지체가 고통을 당하면, 모든 지체가 함께 고통을 당합니다. 한 지체가 영광을 받으면, 모든 지체가 함께 기뻐합니다. 27 여러분은 그리스도의 몸이요, 따로 따로는 지체들입니다. 28 하나님께서 교회 안에 몇몇 일꾼을 세우셨습니다. 그들은 첫째는 사도요, 둘째는 예언자요, 셋째는 교사요, 다음은 기적을 행하는 사람이요, 다음은 병 고치는 은사를 받은 사람이요, 남을 도와 주는 사람이요, 관리하는 사람이요, 여러 가지 t방언으로 말하는 사람입니다. 29 그러니, 모두가 사도이겠습니까? 모두가 예언자이겠습니까? 모두가 교사이겠습니까? 모두가 기적을 행하는 사람이겠습니까? 30 모두가 병 고치는 은사를 받은 사람이겠습니까? 모두가 t방언으로 말하는 사람이겠습니까? 모두가 통역하는 사람이겠습니까? 31 그러나 여러분은 더 큰 은사를 열심히 구하십시오.

Spiritual Gifts

1 My friends, you asked me about spiritual gifts. 2 I want you to remember that before you became followers of the Lord, you were led in all the wrong ways by idols that cannot even talk.

3 Now I want you to know that if you are led by God's Spirit, you will say that Jesus is Lord, and you will never curse Jesus.
4  t There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but they all come from the same Spirit. 5 There are different ways to serve the same Lord,

6 and we can each do different things. Yet the same God works in all of us and helps us in everything we do.
7 The Spirit has given each of us a special way of serving others. 8 Some of us can speak with wisdom, while others can speak with knowledge, but these gifts come from the same Spirit. 9 To others the Spirit has given great faith or the power to heal the sick 10 or the power to work mighty miracles. Some of us are prophets, and some of us recognize when God's Spirit is present.t Others can speak different kinds of languages, and still others can tell what these languages mean.

11 But it is the Spirit who does all this and decides which gifts to give to each of us.

One Body with Many Parts


12  t The body of Christ has many different parts, just as any other body does.

13 Some of us are Jews, and others are Gentiles. Some of us are slaves, and others are free. But God's Spirit baptized each of us and made us part of the body of Christ. Now we each drink from that same Spirit.t
14 Our bodies don't have just one part. They have many parts. 15 Suppose a foot says, “I'm not a hand, and so I'm not part of the body.” Wouldn't the foot still belong to the body? 16 Or suppose an ear says, “I'm not an eye, and so I'm not part of the body.” Wouldn't the ear still belong to the body? 17 If our bodies were only an eye, we couldn't hear a thing. And if they were only an ear, we couldn't smell a thing.

18 But God has put all parts of our body together in the way that he decided is best.
19 A body isn't really a body, unless there is more than one part. 20 It takes many parts to make a single body. 21 That's why the eyes cannot say they don't need the hands. That's also why the head cannot say it doesn't need the feet. 22 In fact, we cannot get along without the parts of the body that seem to be the weakest. 23 We take special care to dress up some parts of our bodies. We are modest about our personal parts,

24 but we don't have to be modest about other parts.
God put our bodies together in such a way that even the parts that seem the least important are valuable. 25 He did this to make all parts of the body work together smoothly, with each part caring about the others.

26 If one part of our body hurts, we hurt all over. If one part of our body is honored, the whole body will be happy.
27 Together you are the body of Christ. Each one of you is part of his body. 28 t First, God chose some people to be apostles and prophets and teachers for the church. But he also chose some to work miracles or heal the sick or help others or be leaders or speak different kinds of languages. 29 Not everyone is an apostle. Not everyone is a prophet. Not everyone is a teacher. Not everyone can work miracles. 30 Not everyone can heal the sick. Not everyone can speak different kinds of languages. Not everyone can tell what these languages mean. 31 I want you to desire the best gifts.t So I will show you a much better way.
