Los dones espirituales

1 Hermanos, quiero que sepan muy bien de qué se tratan los dones espirituales.2 Recuerden la clase de vida que tenían cuando no eran creyentes. Se dejaban influenciar y se guiaban por ídolos mudos.

3 Les digo que nadie que hable por el Espíritu de Dios es capaz de maldecir a Jesús. Tampoco se puede decir que «Jesús es el Señor», si no es por el Espíritu Santo.
4 Hay diferentes clases de dones espirituales, pero todos vienen del mismo Espíritu.5 Hay diferentes formas de servir, pero hay un solo Señor.6 Hay diferentes formas de actuar, pero hay un solo Dios que trabaja entre nosotros en todo lo que hacemos.7 El Espíritu se muestra de manera diferente en cada uno para beneficio de todos.8 A uno le da la habilidad de hablar con palabras de sabiduría. El mismo Espíritu le da a otro la habilidad de hablar con conocimiento9 y a otro le da fe. Ese mismo Espíritu le da a otro el don de sanar a los enfermos,10 a otro el de hacer milagros, a otro el de profetizar y a otro el poder de reconocer cuando habla el Espíritu de Dios y cuando habla algún otro espíritu. A otro le da la habilidad de hablar en varias lenguas y a otro le da la habilidad de interpretarlas.

11 Todo eso lo hace un solo Espíritu y él decide lo que le da a cada cual.

El cuerpo de Cristo

12 Nuestro cuerpo tiene muchas partes, pero todas esas partes forman un solo cuerpo. Lo mismo sucede con Cristo:

13 ya sea judíos o not, esclavos o libres, todos hemos sido bautizadost en un mismo Espíritu para formar parte de un solo cuerpo; a todos se nos dio a beber del mismo Espíritu.
14 El cuerpo humano no está hecho de una sola parte, sino de muchas.15 Si el pie dijera: «Como no soy mano, entonces no formo parte del cuerpo», no por eso dejaría de formar parte de él.16 Si el oído dijera: «Como no soy ojo, entonces no formo parte del cuerpo», no por eso dejaría de formar parte de él.17 Si todo el cuerpo fuera ojo, ¿como podría oír? Si todo el cuerpo fuera oído, ¿cómo podría oler?18 Dios puso todas y cada una de las partes del cuerpo como él quiso.19 Si todas las partes fueran la misma, entonces no sería cuerpo.

20 Por eso hay muchas partes, pero un solo cuerpo.
21 El ojo no puede decirle a la mano: «No te necesito». Tampoco la cabeza puede decirle a los pies: «No los necesito».22 Al contrario, todas las partes del cuerpo, hasta las más sencillas, son muy importantes y necesarias.23 Y las partes del cuerpo que menos apreciamos, son las que tratamos con más cuidado. Las partes que no queremos mostrar son las que tratamos con más modestia.24 Las partes más presentables no requieren que las cuidemos tanto, pero Dios ha unido todo el cuerpo de manera que las partes menos apreciadas reciban más honor.25 Dios lo hizo así para que nuestro cuerpo no esté dividido, para que cada parte del cuerpo se preocupe por cuidar de las demás.

26 Si una parte sufre, todas sufren. Igualmente, si una parte recibe honor, todas las otras partes comparten su alegría.
27 Todos ustedes son el cuerpo de Cristo y cada uno es una parte de ese cuerpo.28 En la iglesiat, Dios puso primero a los apóstoles, luego a los profetas y luego a los maestros. También eligió a algunos para hacer milagros, a otros para tener dones de sanar a los enfermos, a otros para ayudar a los demás, a otros para dirigir y a otros para hablar en lenguas.29 No todos son apóstoles, no todos son profetas, ni todos son maestros. No todos pueden hacer milagros30 ni todos tienen el don de sanar a los enfermos. No todos pueden hablar en lenguas ni todos pueden interpretarlas.

31 Busquen tener los dones del Espíritu que ustedes consideran mejores. Pero yo quiero mostrarles una manera de vivir que es mucho mejor.

The Use of Spiritual Gifts

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware.2 You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led.3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.5 And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord.6 There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.8 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;9 to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,10 and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

14 For the body is not one member, but many.15 If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.16 And if the ear says, "Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?18 But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.19 If they were all one member, where would the body be?20 But now there are many members, but one body.21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; or again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."22 On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary;23 and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable,24 whereas our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked,25 so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it.28 And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues.29 All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they?30 All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they?

31 But earnestly desire the greater gifts.
And I show you a still more excellent way.
