Il piano « pazzesco » di Dio.

1 Cari fratelli, quando sono venuto da voi la prima volta, non mi sono servito di parole difficili per annunciarvi il Vangelo di Dio,2 perché avevo deciso che avrei parlato soltanto di Gesù Cristo e della sua morte sulla croce.3 Mi sono presentato a voi in tutta la mia debolezza, timido e tremante.4 Vi ho parlato e predicato con semplicità, senza servirmi di bei discorsi a livello intellettuale, ma la potenza dello Spirito Santo nelle mie parole vi provava che il mio messaggio veniva da Dio.5 Ho parlato così, perché volevo che la vostra fede si basasse sulla potenza di Dio, non sulla sapienza umana.6 Comunque, quando mi trovo fra cristiani maturi, mi capita di parlare con una certa sapienza, ma non è la sapienza di questa terra, e neppure quella dei grandi uomini di questo mondo, che sono destinati alla rovina.7 La nostra sapienza è quella di Dio, e con essa annunciamo il suo grande progetto che ci conduce alle glorie del cielo. Questo piano è rimasto nascosto fin dai tempi dei tempi, benché fosse stato fatto a nostro beneficio ancora prima della creazione del mondo.8 Ma i grandi uomini del mondo non l’hanno capito. Se lo avessero capito, non avrebbero crocifisso il Signore della gloria.9 A questo si riferiscono le Scritture, quando dicono: « Le cose che Dio ha preparato per quelli che l’amano, sono cose straordinarie, che nessun occhio ha visto, che nessun orecchio ha udito e che nessun uomo ha mai potuto immaginare ».10 Ma noi conosciamo queste cose, perché Dio ce le ha rivelate per mezzo dello Spirito Santo, che conosce a fondo tutto, anche le cose più nascoste di Dio.11 Nessuno può conoscere i pensieri di un altro, tranne lui stesso. E nessuno può conoscere i pensieri di Dio, eccetto lo Spirito che viene da Dio.12 Ora, il Signore ci ha dato il suo Spirito, che non è lo spirito del mondo, per farci conoscere i doni meravigliosi e gratuiti che egli ci ha dato.13 Parlandovi di questi doni, non ci serviamo di discorsi che nascono dalla sapienza umana, ma di quelli che ci ha suggerito lo Spirito Santo. Così ci serviamo delle parole dello Spirito Santo per spiegare le cose che riguardano lo Spirito Santo.14 Ma l’uomo che non è cristiano non può capire, né accettare le verità che lo Spirito Santo rivela; gli sembrano una pazzia e non le può capire, perché soltanto chi ha lo Spirito Santo dentro di sé può comprendere ciò che lo Spirito intende.15 Ma l’uomo spirituale giudica tutto in modo spirituale, e questo disturba e confonde l’uomo del mondo, che non riesce a comprendere il cristiano.16 Come potrebbe, d’altra parte? Perché, certamente, l’uomo del mondo non ha mai conosciuto i pensieri del Signore, né si è mai sognato di dargli dei consigli. Noi cristiani, invece, abbiamo la mente di Cristo.

1 And I, brethren, when I came unto you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.2 For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.4 And my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:5 that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.6 We speak wisdom, however, among them that are fullgrown: yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nought:7 but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, even the wisdom that hath been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds unto our glory:8 which none of the rulers of this world hath known: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory:9 but as it is written, Things which eye saw not, and ear heard not, And which entered not into the heart of man, Whatsoever things God prepared for them that love him.

10 But unto us God revealed them through the Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.11 For who among men knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which is in him? even so the things of God none knoweth, save the Spirit of God.12 But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that were freely given to us of God.13 Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Spirit teacheth; combining spiritual things with spiritual words.14 Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged.15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, and he himself is judged of no man.16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
