Überlasst das Urteil Gott!

1 tSeht in uns Diener Christi und Boten, die Gottes Geheimnisse verkünden.2 tVon solchen Boten verlangt man vor allem Zuverlässigkeit.3 Wie es bei mir damit steht? Mir ist es nicht so wichtig, wie ihr oder irgendein menschliches Gericht in diesem Punkt über mich urteilen. Ich maße mir auch über mich selbst kein Urteil an.4 Zwar bin ich mir keiner Schuld bewusst, aber damit bin ich noch nicht freigesprochen. Entscheidend ist allein Gottes Urteil.5 tDeshalb urteilt niemals voreilig! Wenn Christus kommt, wird er alles ans Licht bringen, auch unsere geheimsten Wünsche und Gedanken. Dann wird Gott jeden so loben, wie er es verdient hat.

6 tLiebe Brüder und Schwestern, ich habe jetzt nur von Apollos und mir gesprochen. An unserem Beispiel sollt ihr lernen, was der Satz bedeutet: »Geht nicht über das hinaus, was in der Heiligen Schrift steht.« Seid nicht überheblich, und spielt darum nicht einen von uns gegen den anderen aus!7 Woher nimmst du dir das Recht dazu? Bist du etwas Besonderes? Alles, was du besitzt, hat Gott dir doch geschenkt. Hat er dir aber alles geschenkt, wie kannst du dann damit prahlen, als wäre es dein eigenes Verdienst?

Noch nicht am Ziel

8 tAber ihr seid ja so satt und selbstzufrieden. Ihr haltet euch für so reich, dass ihr anscheinend nichts mehr braucht. Ihr bildet euch ein, schon jetzt herrschen zu können, als ob Christus bereits wiedergekommen wäre. Uns braucht ihr dabei nicht.t Ich wünschte, ihr würdet wirklich schon mit Christus herrschen. Dann wären auch wir am Ziel unseres Glaubens und könnten mit euch regieren.9 tDoch ich meine, dass Gott uns, seine Apostel, auf den letzten Platz verwiesen hat, dem Tod näher als dem Leben. Wie in einer Arena kämpfen wir vor den Augen der ganzen Welt. Menschen und Engel beobachten gespannt, wie dieser Kampf ausgehen wird.10 Uns hält man für Narren, weil wir an Christus glauben; euch aber hält man aus dem gleichen Grund für klug. Wir sind schwach; ihr aber seid stark. Ihr werdet geachtet und geehrt; wir aber werden ausgelacht.

11 Bis heute leiden wir Hunger und Durst, und unsere Kleider sind kaum mehr als Lumpen. Wir werden geschlagen und herumgestoßen, nirgendwo haben wir ein Zuhause.12 tWir arbeiten hart für unseren Lebensunterhalt. Wenn man uns beleidigt, dann segnen wir. Verfolgt man uns, wehren wir uns nicht dagegen;13 und wenn man uns verhöhnt, antworten wir freundlich. Wir waren schon immer die Sündenböcke für die ganze Welt, der Müllhaufen, auf dem jeder seinen Unrat ablädt.

14 Ich schreibe das alles nicht, um euch zu beschämen. Vielmehr möchte ich euch, meine geliebten Kinder, ermahnen und wieder auf den rechten Weg bringen.15 tSelbst wenn ihr zehntausend Erzieher hättet, die euch im Glauben unterweisen, so habt ihr doch nicht viele Väter. Denn ich habe euch die rettende Botschaft von Jesus Christus gebracht, und dadurch habt ihr das Leben empfangen.t16 tDarum bitte ich euch: Folgt meinem Beispiel!

17 tWeil mir so viel daran liegt, habe ich Timotheus zu euch geschickt. Durch den Glauben ist er mir ein lieber und treuer Sohn geworden. Er wird euch daran erinnern, wie ich in der Verbindung mit Christus lebe. So lehre ich es auch in allen anderen Gemeinden.

18 Einige von euch behaupten lautstark, ich würde es gar nicht mehr wagen, selbst nach Korinth zu kommen.19 tAber ich werde bald bei euch sein, wenn der Herr es zulässt! Dann interessieren mich nicht die großen Sprüche dieser aufgeblasenen Leute, sondern was dahinter stecktt.20 tDenn Gott gründet seine neue Welt nicht auf Worte, sondern auf seine Kraft.

21 tEntscheidet also selbst: Soll ich den Stock bei euch gebrauchen oder mit Liebe und Freundlichkeit zu euch kommen?

1 Let a man so account of us, as of ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.2 Here, moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.4 For I know nothing against myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.5 Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.6 Now these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes; that in us ye might learn not to go beyond the things which are written; that no one of you be puffed up for the one against the other.7 For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? but if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received it?8 Already are ye filled, already ye are become rich, ye have come to reign without us: yea and I would that ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.9 For, I think, God hath set forth us the apostles last of all, as men doomed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, both to angels and men.10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonor.11 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling-place;12 and we toil, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;13 being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things, even until now.14 I write not these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children.15 For though ye have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I begat you through the gospel.16 I beseech you therefore, be ye imitators of me.17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shall put you in remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, even as I teach everywhere in every church.18 Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you.19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will; and I will know, not the word of them that are puffed up, but the power.20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.21 What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?
