พันธกิจของอัครทูต
1 ให้ทุกคนถือว่าเราเป็นคนเช่นนี้คือเป็นเหมือนคนรับใช้ของพระคริสต์ และเป็นผู้รับมอบฉันทะให้ดูแลสิ่งล้ำลึกของพระเจ้า 2 ยิ่งกว่านั้น บรรดาผู้รับมอบฉันทะย่อมได้รับการคาดหวังว่าต้องเป็นคนที่ไว้วางใจได้ 3 สำหรับข้าพเจ้า การที่พวกท่านหรือมนุษย์คนใดจะไต่สวนตัวข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าถือว่าเป็นเรื่องเล็กน้อยที่สุด ถึงแม้ข้าพเจ้าเองก็ไม่ได้ไต่สวนตัวเอง 4 เพราะมโนธรรมไม่ได้กล่าวโทษตัวข้าพเจ้า แต่เรื่องนี้ก็ไม่ได้ทำให้ข้าพเจ้าถูกนับว่าไร้ความผิด และผู้ทรงไต่สวนตัวข้าพเจ้าคือองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า 5 ฉะนั้นอย่าตัดสินสิ่งใดก่อนถึงเวลา จงคอยจนกว่าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเสด็จมา พระองค์จะทรงเปิดเผยสิ่งที่ซ่อนอยู่ในความมืด และจะทรงเผยความมุ่งหมายของจิตใจทั้งหลาย เมื่อนั้นแต่ละคนจะได้รับคำชมเชยจากพระเจ้า 6 พี่น้องทั้งหลาย ข้าพเจ้าเปรียบสิ่งเหล่านี้กับตัวเองและอปอลโล ก็เพื่อประโยชน์ของพวกท่าน เพื่อให้ท่านเรียนรู้จากเราในคำกล่าวที่ว่า “อย่าออกนอกขอบเขตของพระคัมภีร์t” เพื่อว่าพวกท่านจะไม่หยิ่งผยองในการยกคนหนึ่งเหยียดอีกคนหนึ่ง 7 เพราะว่าใครทำให้ท่านวิเศษกว่าคนอื่น? ท่านมีอะไรที่ไม่ได้รับมา? ถ้าท่านได้รับมา ทำไมจึงโอ้อวดเหมือนกับว่าท่านไม่ได้รับมา? 8 ท่านทั้งหลายคงอิ่มหนำแล้วสินะ ท่านคงมั่งมีแล้วสินะ ท่านได้ครอบครองโดยไม่มีเราร่วมด้วยแล้วสินะ ข้าพเจ้าอยากให้พวกท่านครอบครองจริงๆ เพื่อเราจะได้ครอบครองร่วมกับท่าน 9 เพราะข้าพเจ้าเห็นว่าพระเจ้าทรงจัดเราผู้เป็นอัครทูตไว้สุดท้าย เหมือนอย่างพวกต้องโทษประหาร คือเรากลายเป็นการแสดงที่ให้จักรวาล ทูตสวรรค์และมนุษย์ทั้งหลายมองดู 10 เราเป็นคนโง่เพราะเห็นแก่พระคริสต์ และท่านทั้งหลายเป็นคนมีปัญญาในพระคริสต์ เราอ่อนแอ แต่ท่านมีกำลัง ท่านทั้งหลายมีเกียรติ แต่เราไร้เกียรติ 11 จนถึงเวลานี้เราก็ยังหิว และกระหาย ขาดเครื่องนุ่งห่ม ถูกโบยตี และไม่มีบ้านอยู่ 12 เราทำงานตรากตรำด้วยมือของตัวเองt เมื่อถูกด่าเราก็อวยพร เมื่อถูกข่มเหงก็ทนเอา 13 เมื่อถูกกล่าวร้ายก็พยายามวิงวอน เรากลายเป็นเหมือนเศษเดนของโลก และเหมือนราคีของทุกสิ่งจนถึงบัดนี้ 14 ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้เขียนข้อความเหล่านี้เพื่อให้พวกท่านละอายใจ แต่เขียนเพื่อเตือนสติท่านผู้เป็นเหมือนลูกที่รักของข้าพเจ้า 15 เพราะว่าในพระคริสต์ถึงแม้ท่านทั้งหลายมีผู้ดูแลสักหมื่นคน แต่ท่านก็มีบิดาเพียงคนเดียว เพราะว่าในพระเยซูคริสต์ ข้าพเจ้าได้ให้กำเนิดพวกท่านโดยข่าวประเสริฐ 16 เพราะฉะนั้นข้าพเจ้าจึงขอให้ท่านทำตามอย่างข้าพเจ้าt 17 เพราะเหตุนี้ข้าพเจ้าจึงใช้ทิโมธีลูกที่รักของข้าพเจ้า ซึ่งเป็นคนซื่อสัตย์ในองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้ามาหาพวกท่าน เพื่อช่วยให้ระลึกถึงหลักการดำเนินชีวิตtของข้าพเจ้าในพระคริสต์ ตามที่ข้าพเจ้าสอนอยู่ในคริสตจักรทุกแห่ง 18 บางคนทำหยิ่งผยองราวกับว่าข้าพเจ้าจะไม่มาหาพวกท่าน 19 แต่ถ้าองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงโปรด ข้าพเจ้าจะมาหาท่านในไม่ช้านี้ และข้าพเจ้าจะหยั่งรู้ไม่ใช่ในถ้อยคำของคนที่หยิ่งผยองเหล่านั้น แต่จะหยั่งรู้ในฤทธิ์เดชของพวกเขา 20 เพราะว่าแผ่นดินของพระเจ้าไม่ใช่เรื่องของถ้อยคำ แต่เป็นเรื่องฤทธิ์เดช 21 พวกท่านต้องการสิ่งไหน? จะให้ข้าพเจ้าถือไม้เรียวมาหาท่าน หรือจะให้ข้าพเจ้ามาด้วยความรัก และด้วยใจสุภาพอ่อนโยน?
1 Corinthians 4
1 Let a man so account of us, as of ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.2 Here, moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.4 For I know nothing against myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.5 Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.6 Now these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes; that in us ye might learn not to go beyond the things which are written; that no one of you be puffed up for the one against the other.7 For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? but if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received it?8 Already are ye filled, already ye are become rich, ye have come to reign without us: yea and I would that ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.9 For, I think, God hath set forth us the apostles last of all, as men doomed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, both to angels and men.10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonor.11 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling-place;12 and we toil, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;13 being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things, even until now.14 I write not these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children.15 For though ye have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I begat you through the gospel.16 I beseech you therefore, be ye imitators of me.17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shall put you in remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, even as I teach everywhere in every church.18 Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you.19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will; and I will know, not the word of them that are puffed up, but the power.20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.21 What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?
