II. CORRECCIÓN DE CIERTAS ACTITUDES (5.1–6.20)

Un grave caso de inmoralidad

1 Se oye decir que uno de vosotros tiene como mujer a su propia madrastra.t Este es un caso tan grave de inmoralidad, que ni siquiera se da entre los paganos. 2 ¡Y estáis tan llenos de orgullo, cuando deberíais estar llenos de tristeza! El hombre que vive en semejante situación debe ser expulsado de entre vosotros.t 3 En cuanto a mí, aunque en el cuerpo no estoy presente entre vosotros, lo estoy en el espíritu; y, como si estuviera presente, en nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo he pronunciado ya mi sentencia sobre el que así actúa. 4 Cuando os reunáis, yo estaré con vosotros en espíritu, y también el poder del Señor Jesús estará con todos.

5 Entonces ese hombre deberá ser entregado a Satanás, para que se destruya lo que es puramente humano y el espíritu se salve cuando venga el Señor.t
6 No tenéis motivos para sentiros orgullosos. Ya conocéis el dicho: “Un poco de levadura hace fermentar toda la masa.”t 7 Así que echad fuera esa vieja levadura que os corrompe, para que seáis como el pan hecho de masa nueva, como el pan sin levadura que se come en la Pascuat y el que en realidad sois vosotros. Porque Cristo, que es el Cordero de nuestra Pascua,t fue muerto en sacrificio por nosotros.

8 Así que celebremos nuestra Pascua con la sinceridad y la verdad que son el pan sin levadura, y no con la vieja levadura de la maldad y la perversidad.
9 En mi otra cartat os decía que no debéis tener trato con quienes cometen inmoralidades sexuales. 10 Con esto no quería decir que os apartarais por completo de todos los que en este mundo son inmorales, avaros, ladrones o idólatras, pues para eso tendríais que saliros del mundo. 11 Lo que quise decir es que no debéis tener trato con ninguno que, llamándose hermano,t sea inmoral, avaro, idólatra, chismoso, borracho o ladrón. Con gente así, ni siquiera os sentéis a comer.t 12-13 No me toca a mí juzgar a los de fuera; Dios será quien los juzgue. Pero vosotros debéis juzgar a los de dentro. Por eso, quitad a ese pecador de en medio de vosotros.t

1 It is actually reported that sexual immorality exists among you, the kind of immorality that is not permitted even among the Gentiles, so that someone is cohabiting witht his father’s wife.2 And you are proud!t Shouldn’t you have been deeply sorrowful instead and removed the one who did thist from among you?3 For even though I am absent physically,t I am present in spirit. And I have already judged the one who did this, just as though I were present.t4 When you gather together in the name of our Lord Jesus,s and I am with you in spirit,t along with the power of our Lord Jesus,

5 turn this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be savedt in the day of the Lord.s
6 Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeasts affectst the whole batch of dough?7 Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch of dough – you are, in fact, without yeast. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

8 So then, let us celebrate the festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of vice and evil, but with the bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.t
9 I wrote you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people.10 In no way did I mean the immoral people of this world, or the greedy and swindlers and idolaters, since you would then have to go out of the world.11 But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who calls himself a Christiant who is sexually immoral, or greedy, or an idolater, or verbally abusive,t or a drunkard, or a swindler. Do not even eat with such a person.12 For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Are you not to judge those inside?

13 But God will judge those outside. Remove the evil person from among you.s
