Lo scandalo di Corinto e il rimprovero dell'apostolo
1 Si ode addirittura affermare che vi è tra di voi fornicazione, una tale fornicazione che non si trova neppure fra i pagani; al punto che uno si tiene la moglie di suo padre!2 E voi siete gonfi, e non avete invece fatto cordoglio, perché colui che ha commesso quell'azione fosse tolto di mezzo a voi!3 Quanto a me, assente di persona ma presente in spirito, ho già giudicato, come se fossi presente, colui che ha commesso un tale atto.4 Nel nome del Signore {nostro} Gesù, essendo insieme riuniti voi e lo spirito mio, con l'autorità del Signore nostro Gesù,
5 ho deciso che quel tale sia consegnato a Satana, per la rovina della carne, affinché lo spirito sia salvo nel giorno del Signore Gesù.
6 Il vostro vanto non è una buona cosa. Non sapete che un po' di lievito fa lievitare tutta la pasta?7 Purificatevi del vecchio lievito per essere una nuova pasta, come già siete senza lievito. Poiché anche la nostra Pasqua, cioè Cristo, è stata immolata.
8 Celebriamo dunque la festa tnon con vecchio lievito, né con lievito di malizia e di malvagità, ma con gli azzimi della sincerità e della verità.
9 Vi ho scritto nella mia lettera tdi non mischiarvi con i fornicatori;10 non del tutto però con i fornicatori di questo mondo, o con gli avari e i ladri, o con gli idolatri; perché altrimenti dovreste uscire dal mondo;11 ma quel che vi ho scritto è di non mischiarvi con chi, chiamandosi fratello, sia un fornicatore, un avaro, un idolatra, un oltraggiatore, un ubriacone, un ladro; con quelli non dovete neppure mangiare.12 Poiché, devo forse giudicare quelli di fuori? Non giudicate voi quelli di dentro?
13 Quelli di fuori li giudicherà Dio. Togliete il malvagio di mezzo a voi stessi t.

Immoral Followers
1 t I have heard terrible things about some of you. In fact, you are behaving worse than Gentiles. A man is even sleeping with his own stepmother.t
2 You are proud, when you ought to feel bad enough to chase away anyone who acts like this.
3-4 I am with you only in my thoughts. But in the name of our Lord Jesus I have already judged this man, as though I were with you in person. So when you meet together and the power of the Lord Jesus is with you, I will be there too.
5 You must then hand that man over to Satan. His body will be destroyed, but his spirit will be saved when the Lord Jesus returns.
6 t Stop being proud! Don't you know how a little yeast can spread through the whole batch of dough? 7 t Get rid of the old yeast! Then you will be like fresh bread made without yeast, and this is what you are. Our Passover lamb is Christ, who has already been sacrificed.
8 t So don't celebrate the festival by being evil and sinful, which is like serving bread made with yeast. Be pure and truthful and celebrate by using bread made without yeast.
9 In my other lettert I told you not to have anything to do with immoral people. 10 But I wasn't talking about the people of this world. You would have to leave this world to get away from everyone who is immoral or greedy or who cheats or worships idols. 11 I was talking about your own people who are immoral or greedy or worship idols or curse others or get drunk or cheat. Don't even eat with them! 12 Why should I judge outsiders? Aren't we supposed to judge only church members? 13 t God judges everyone else. The Scriptures say, “Chase away any of your own people who are evil.”
