EPISTOLE DI S. PAOLO I AI CORINZI 5
1 Si ode addirittura affermare che v'è tra voi fornicazione; e tale fornicazione, che non si trova neppure fra i Gentili; al punto che uno di voi si tiene la moglie di suo padre. 2 E siete gonfi, e non avete invece fatto cordoglio perché colui che ha commesso quell'azione fosse tolto di mezzo a voi! 3 Quanto a me, assente di persona ma presente in ispirito, ho già giudicato, come se fossi presente, colui che ha perpetrato un tale atto. 4 Nel nome del Signor Gesù, essendo insieme adunati voi e lo spirito mio, con la potestà del Signor nostro Gesù, 5 ho deciso che quel tale sia dato in man di Satana, a perdizione della carne, onde lo spirito sia salvo nel giorno del Signor Gesù. 6 Il vostro vantarvi non è buono. Non sapete voi che un po' di lievito fa lievitare tutta la pasta? 7 Purificatevi del vecchio lievito, affinché siate una nuova pasta, come già siete senza lievito. Poiché anche la nostra pasqua, cioè Cristo, è stata immolata. 8 Celebriamo dunque la festa, non con vecchio lievito, né con lievito di malizia e di malvagità, ma con gli azzimi della sincerità e della verità. 9 V'ho scritto nella mia epistola di non mischiarvi coi fornicatori; 10 non del tutto però coi fornicatori di questo mondo, o con gli avari e i rapaci, e con gl'idolatri; perché altrimenti dovreste uscire dal mondo; 11 ma quel che v'ho scritto è di non mischiarvi con alcuno che, chiamandosi fratello, sia un fornicatore, o un avaro, o un idolatra, o un oltraggiatore, o un ubriacone, o un rapace; con un tale non dovete neppur mangiare. 12 Poiché, ho io forse da giudicar que' di fuori? Non giudicate voi quelli di dentro? Que' di fuori li giudica Iddio. Togliete il malvagio di mezzo a voi stessi.

Immoral Followers
1 t I have heard terrible things about some of you. In fact, you are behaving worse than Gentiles. A man is even sleeping with his own stepmother.t
2 You are proud, when you ought to feel bad enough to chase away anyone who acts like this.
3-4 I am with you only in my thoughts. But in the name of our Lord Jesus I have already judged this man, as though I were with you in person. So when you meet together and the power of the Lord Jesus is with you, I will be there too.
5 You must then hand that man over to Satan. His body will be destroyed, but his spirit will be saved when the Lord Jesus returns.
6 t Stop being proud! Don't you know how a little yeast can spread through the whole batch of dough? 7 t Get rid of the old yeast! Then you will be like fresh bread made without yeast, and this is what you are. Our Passover lamb is Christ, who has already been sacrificed.
8 t So don't celebrate the festival by being evil and sinful, which is like serving bread made with yeast. Be pure and truthful and celebrate by using bread made without yeast.
9 In my other lettert I told you not to have anything to do with immoral people. 10 But I wasn't talking about the people of this world. You would have to leave this world to get away from everyone who is immoral or greedy or who cheats or worships idols. 11 I was talking about your own people who are immoral or greedy or worship idols or curse others or get drunk or cheat. Don't even eat with them! 12 Why should I judge outsiders? Aren't we supposed to judge only church members? 13 t God judges everyone else. The Scriptures say, “Chase away any of your own people who are evil.”
