1 Corintios 6

Litigios en presencia de los incrédulos

1 Si alguno de ustedes tiene un pleito con otro, ¿por qué presenta el caso ante los impíos, y no ante los santos?2 ¿Acaso no saben ustedes que los santos juzgarán al mundo? Y si son ustedes quienes han de juzgar al mundo, ¿acaso les es poca cosa juzgar casos muy pequeños?3 ¿No saben ustedes que nosotros juzgaremos a los ángeles? ¡Pues con más razón los asuntos de esta vida!4 Si ustedes pueden emitir juicios en cuanto a los asuntos de esta vida, ¿cómo entonces ponen como jueces a gente de poca estima en la iglesia?5 Les digo esto para avergonzarlos. ¿Acaso no hay entre ustedes siquiera uno que sea sabio y que pueda servir de juez entre sus hermanos?6 ¡Y es que no sólo se pelean entre hermanos, sino que lo hacen en presencia de los incrédulos!

7 Sin duda, ya es bastante grave que haya pleitos entre ustedes. ¿No sería mejor pasar por alto la ofensa? ¿No sería mejor dejar que los defrauden?8 ¡Pero el caso es que son ustedes los que cometen el agravio, y los que defraudan, y lo hacen contra los hermanos!

9 ¿Acaso no saben que los injustos no heredarán el reino de Dios? No se equivoquen: ni los fornicarios, ni los idólatras, ni los adúlteros, ni los afeminados, ni los que se acuestan con hombres,10 ni los ladrones, ni los avaros, ni los borrachos, ni los malhablados, ni los estafadores, heredarán el reino de Dios.11 Y eso eran algunos de ustedes, pero ya han sido lavados, ya han sido santificados, ya han sido justificados en el nombre del Señor Jesús, y por el Espíritu de nuestro Dios.

Glorifiquen a Dios en su cuerpo

12 Todo me está permitido, pero no todo me conviene.t Todo me está permitido, pero no permitiré que nada me domine.13 Los alimentos son para el estómago, y el estómago es para los alimentos, pero Dios destruirá tanto al uno como a los otros. Y el cuerpo no es para la inmoralidad sexual, sino para el Señor, y el Señor es para el cuerpo.14 Y así como Dios levantó al Señor, también nos levantará a nosotros con su poder.15 ¿Acaso no saben ustedes que sus cuerpos son miembros de Cristo? ¿Voy entonces a tomar los miembros de Cristo para hacerlos miembros de una prostituta? ¡De ninguna manera!16 ¿Acaso no saben que el que se une con una prostituta se hace un solo cuerpo con ella? La Escritura dice: «Los dos serán un solo ser».t17 Pero el que se une al Señor, es un espíritu con él.18 Huyan de la inmoralidad sexual. Cualquier otro pecado que el hombre cometa, ocurre fuera del cuerpo; pero el que comete inmoralidad sexual peca contra su propio cuerpo.19 ¿Acaso ignoran que el cuerpo de ustedes es templo del Espíritu Santo, que está en ustedes,t y que recibieron de parte de Dios, y que ustedes no son dueños de sí mismos?20 Porque ustedes han sido comprados; el precio de ustedes ya ha sido pagado. Por lo tanto, den gloria a Dios en su cuerpo y en su espíritu, los cuales son de Dios.

1 CORINTHIANS 6

Taking Each Other to Court

1 When one of you has a complaint against another, do you take your complaint to a court of sinners? Or do you take it to God's people? 2 Don't you know that God's people will judge the world? And if you are going to judge the world, can't you settle small problems? 3 Don't you know we will judge angels? And if this is so, we can surely judge everyday matters. 4 Why do you take everyday complaints to judges who are not respected by the church? 5 I say this to your shame. Aren't any of you wise enough to act as a judge between one follower and another?

6 Why should one of you take another to be tried by unbelievers?
7 When one of you takes another to court, all of you lose. It would be better to let yourselves be cheated and robbed.

8 But instead, you cheat and rob other followers.
9 Don't you know that evil people won't have a share in the blessings of God's kingdom? Don't fool yourselves! No one who is immoral or worships idols or is unfaithful in marriage or is a pervert or behaves like a homosexual 10 will share in God's kingdom. Neither will any thief or greedy person or drunkard or anyone who curses and cheats others.

11 Some of you used to be like that. But now the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of God's Spirit have washed you and made you holy and acceptable to God.

Honor God with Your Body

14 God will raise us from death by the same power he used when he raised our Lord to life.
15 Don't you know that your bodies are part of the body of Christ? Is it right for me to join part of the body of Christ to a prostitute? No, it isn't! 16 t Don't you know that a man who does that becomes part of her body? The Scriptures say, “The two of them will be like one person.”

17 But anyone who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit with him.
18 Don't be immoral in matters of sex. That is a sin against your own body in a way no other sin is. 19 t You surely know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives. The Spirit is in you and is a gift from God. You are no longer your own. 20 God paid a great price for you. So use your body to honor God.
