ヨハネの第一の手紙 3

三

1 天の父は、どんなに、私たちを愛しておられることでしょう。　私たちを、ご自分の子供として受け入れてくださいました。　考えてもごらんなさい。　神様の子供とされたのです。　ところが、神様を知らない多くの人は、当然、私たちが神様の子供であることを、理解できません。　2 愛する友よ。　私たちは、もうすでに神様の子供です。　これから先のことは想像もつきませんが、ただこの一事だけは、わかっています。　つまり、キリスト様がお帰りになる時、私たちがキリスト様に似た者となるということです。　というのは、キリスト様のありのままの姿を目のあたりにするからです。　3 このことをほんとうに信じる人はみな、自分の身を、いつもきよく保とうと心がけます。　キリスト様はきよい方だからです。
4 しかし、罪を犯し続ける人は、神様に逆らうのです。　罪はすべて、神様の心に反する行為だからです。　5 あなたがたは、キリスト様が人間となられたのは、私たちの罪を取り除くためであったことを、よく知っています。　また、キリスト様は何の罪も犯さず、どんな時にも、神様の心からそれなかったことも、知っているはずです。　6 ですから、もし私たちが、いつもキリスト様のそば近くにおり、従順に従うなら、罪を犯し続けたりしないですみます。　彼らが罪を犯すのは、真の意味でキリスト様を知らず、キリスト様のものとなっていないからです。
7 愛する子供たちよ。　このことで、だれにもだまされてはいけません。　もし、あなたがたが、いつも善を行なっているなら、キリスト様と同じように、正しく歩んでいるのです。　8 しかし、もし依然として罪を犯し続けるなら、それは、悪魔の一味になり下がった証拠です。　悪魔は、初めの罪以来、ずっと罪を重ねてきました。　しかし神の子は、この悪魔のしわざを打ち破るために来られたのです。　9 神様の家族の一員として新しく生まれた人には、神様のいのちが宿っているので、もはや罪を犯す習慣はありません。　新しいいのちに支配されているので、罪を犯し続けることができないのです。――その人は二度目の誕生を迎えたのです。
10 そこで今、私たちは、神様の子供と悪魔の仲間とを、はっきり見分けることができます。　罪の生活を送り、兄弟であるクリスチャンを愛さない者は、自分から神様の家族ではないと、証明しているようなものです。　11 私たちは初めから、「互いに愛し合いなさい」と教えられていたからです。
12 カインのようになってはいけません。　カインは悪魔の仲間になって弟を殺しました。　なぜでしょう。　弟の正しい生活と比べて、自分の生活があまりにも悪いと自覚していたからです。　13 ですから、愛する友よ。　たとい全世界があなたがたを憎んでも、驚いてはいけません。
14 ほかのクリスチャンを愛しているなら、私たちは、地獄から救い出され、永遠のいのちを与えられたと確信できます。　そうでない者は、永遠の死にとどまっているのです。　15 だれでもクリスチャンの仲間を憎む者は、心の中で人殺しをしているのです。　言うまでもないことですが、人殺しに、永遠のいのちはありません。　16 キリスト様は、私たちのために、進んでいのちを捨ててくださいました。　そのことによって、私たちはほんとうの愛を知ったのです。　ですから、私たちも、兄弟であるクリスチャンのために、いのちを捨てるべきです。
17 クリスチャンが、自分ではぜいたくに暮らしていながら、困っているクリスチャンがいても、見て見ぬふりをしたとしたら、どうでしょう。　どうして、その人に神様の愛があると言えるでしょう。　18 幼い子供たちよ。　口先だけで人を愛するのではなく、真実をこめて愛し、実践によって、神様の愛を示そうではありませんか。　19 そうすれば、自分が神様の側に立っていることを、ますます強く確信できるでしょう。　そして、良心にみじんもやましいところがなく、主の前に立てるのです。　20 もし、悪いことをしたと、良心の責めを感じても、それ以上に、主は強く感じておられるはずです。　主は私たちのすることを、何もかもご存じだからです。
21 しかし、愛する友よ。　もし私たちの良心が潔白であれば、完全な確信と信頼をいだいて主の前に出ることができます。　22 また願い求めるものは何でも、いただけるのです。　なぜなら、私たちは主に従い、主に喜ばれる行ないをしているからです。　23 神様の命令には、喜んで従わなければなりません。　つまり、神の子イエス・キリストの名を信じ、互いに愛し合わなければなりません。　24 神様の命令に喜んで従う人は、神様と共にいるのです。　そして、神様もその人のそばにいてくださるのです。　これは、神様が遣わしてくださった聖霊様から教えていただいたことで、そのとおりだと確信できる事実です。

1 John 3

1 Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called children of God; and such we are. For this cause the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.2 Beloved, now are we children of God, and it is not yet made manifest what we shall be. We know that, if he shall be manifested, we shall be like him; for we shall see him even as he is.3 And every one that hath this hope set on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.4 Every one that doeth sin doeth also lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away sins; and in him is no sin.6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither knoweth him.7 My little children, let no man lead you astray: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous:8 he that doeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. To this end was the Son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.9 Whosoever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed abideth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is begotten of God.10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.11 For this is the message which ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another:12 not as Cain was of the evil one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.13 Marvel not, brethren, if the world hateth you.14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not abideth in death.15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.16 Hereby know we love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.17 But whoso hath the world’s goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him?18 My Little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth.19 Hereby shall we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before him:20 because if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God;22 and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.23 And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he gave us commandment.24 And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
