1 כל המאמין שישוע הוא המשיח, בן-האלוהים ומושיענו, הוא בנו של אלוהים; וכל האוהב את האב אוהב גם את בניו.

2 מידת אהבתנו לבני-אלוהים מצביעה על מידת אהבתנו לאלוהים.

3 לאהוב את אלוהים פירושו לעשות כל מה שהוא אומר לנו, וזה כלל לא קשה,

4 שכן כל בני-האלוהים מסוגלים לנצח את השטן בכוח האמונה בישוע המשיח.

5 מי יכול להילחם ולנצח במערכה נגד השטן? רק מי שמאמין באמת שישוע הוא בן-האלוהים!

6 זהו ישוע אשר בא במים ובדם - לא רק במים (בעת טבילתו), אלא גם בדם (בעת צליבתו). רוח הקודש הוא שמעיד על כך, והרוח מדבר אמת בלבדt.

7-8 אם כן, יש לנו שלושה עדים שעדותם זהה לחלוטין: הרוח, המים והדם.

9 הלא כולנו מאמינים לעדותם של אנשים בבית-משפט, אם כך, מה הקושי להאמין לעדותו של אלוהים? ואלוהים העיד שישוע בנו.

10 כל המאמינים יודעים היטב בלבם שישוע הוא בן-האלוהים. מי שאינו מאמין עושה את אלוהים לשקרן, שכן אינו מאמין לעדותו של אלוהים על בנו.

11 אלוהים העיד על כך שנתן לנו חיי נצח בבנו ישוע המשיח.

12 לכן, המאמין בבן-האלוהים יש לו חיי נצח, ומי שאינו מאמין - אין לו.

13 כתבתי זאת לכם, המאמינים בבן-האלוהים, כדי שתדעו שיש לכם חיי נצח.

14 אנו בטוחים שאלוהים מקשיב לכל בקשותינו, בתנאי שאינן נגד רצונו.

15 הואיל ואנחנו בטוחים שהוא מקשיב לכל בקשותינו, אנו יודעים ללא ספק שיענה לנו וימלא אותן.

16 אם אתה רואה את אחיך המאמין חוטא חטא שאין עליו עונש מוות, עליך להתפלל בעדו ולבקש מאלוהים שיסלח לו. אלוהים באמת יסלח לו ויטהר אותו, ואף יעניק לו חיים חדשים. אולם אם אחיך ביצע חטא שעונשו מוות, תוכל לחסוך את תפילתך, כי אלוהים בין כך ובין כך לא יסלח לו.

17 כמובן שכל מעשה רע הוא חטא, אך איני מתכוון לחטאים הרגילים שעליהם אלוהים סולח. אני מתכוון לחטא שאין עליו סליחה ומחילה.

18 אדם המשתייך למשפחת אלוהים אינו חוטא בכוונה תחילה, כי המשיח בן-האלוהים שומר עלינו היטב, והשטן אינו יכול לגעת בנו.

19 אנו יודעים, שאנו ילדי-אלוהים, ושכל העולם סביבנו נתון לשלטון השטן.

20 אנחנו גם יודעים, שהמשיח בן-האלוהים בא לעולם, כדי לעזור לנו להכיר ולדעת את האל האמיתי. זהו האל היחיד והאמיתי וחיי הנצח!

21 בני היקרים, היזהרו והישמרו מפני כל דבר, שעלול לתפוס את מקומו של אלוהים בלבכם. - אמן.

1 John 5

1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christt has been fatheredt by God, and everyone who loves the fathers loves the child fathered by him.s2 By thist we know that we love the children of God: whenever we love God and obey his commandments.3 Fort this is the love of God:t that we keep his commandments.t And his commandments do not weigh us down,

4 becauset everyonet who has been fathered by Gods conquerst the world.s
Thist is the conquering powert that has conqueredt the world: our faith.

Testimony About the Son

5 Now who is the person who has conquered the world except the one who believes thatt Jesus is the Son of God?6 Jesus Christ is the one who came by water and blood – not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, becauset the Spirit is the truth.7 Fort there are three that testify,sss

8 the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three are in agreement.
9 If we accept the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, becauset thist is the testimony of God thatt he has testified concerning his Son.10 (The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.)s11 And this is the testimony: Godt has given us eternal life,s and this life is in his Son.

12 The one who has the Sons has thist eternalt life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have thist eternalt life.

Assurance of Eternal Life

13 I have written these thingst to you who believet in the name of the Son of God so thatt you may know that you have eternal life.
14 And this is the confidence that we have before him: thatt whenevert we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.15 And if we knowt that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.16 Ift anyone sees his fellow Christiant committing a sin not resulting in death,t he should ask, and Godt will grantt life to the person who commits a sin not resulting in death.t There is a sin resulting in death.t I do not say that he should ask about that.

17 All unrighteousnesst is sin, but there is sin not resulting in death.t
18 We know that everyone fatheredt by God does not sin, but Godt protectst the one he has fathered, and the evil one cannot touch him.19 We know that we are from God,t and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us insight to knowt him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This ones is the true God and eternal life.
