Prva Ivanova poslanica 5
Vjera u Božjeg Sina
1 Tko vjeruje da Isus jest Krist, rođen je od Boga. A tko voli Oca, voli i njegovu djecu.2 Volimo li Božju djecu, znat ćemo po tomu volimo li Boga i vršimo li njegove zapovijedi.3 Jer voljeti Boga znači držati njegove zapovijedi, a to zaista nije teško.4 Svako Božje dijete pobjeđuje ovaj zao svijet vjerom u Krista.
5 Jer tko će pobijediti svijet ako ne oni koji vjeruju da je Isus Krist Božji Sin?
6 On, Isus Krist, došao je kroz vodu i kroz krv; ne samo u vodi već i u vodi i u krvi. I Duh o tome svjedoči jer je Duh istina.7 Tako troje svjedoči:8 Duh, voda i krv, i to se troje slaže.9 Vjerujemo li ljudskom svjedočanstvu, kako ne bismo vjerovali Božjemu. A Bog svjedoči da je Isus njegov Sin.
10 Tko vjeruje u Božjega Sina, ima to svjedočanstvo Božje u sebi. Tko ne vjeruje Bogu, naziva Boga lašcem jer ne vjeruje u Božje svjedočanstvo o njegovu Sinu.
11 Evo tog svjedočanstva: Bog nam je dao vječni život i taj je život u njegovu Sinu.
12 Tko ima Božjeg Sina, ima život; tko nema Božjeg Sina, nema ni života.
Zaključak
13 Napisah ovo vama koji vjerujete u ime Sina Božjega da znate da imate vječni život.14 Pouzdajemo se u njega da uslišava što god ga zamolimo u skladu s njegovom voljom.
15 A kad znamo da nas u svemu uslišava, znamo i da već imamo ono što smo ga molili.
16 Vidi li tko brata da čini grijeh koji nije smrtonosan, neka moli i Bog će takvom bratu dati život. Postoji i smrtonosan grijeh; za nj ne kažem da molite.
17 Svaka je nepravda grijeh, ali ima grijeha koji nisu smrtonosni.
18 Znamo da nitko tko je rođen od Boga ne živi u grijehu jer Božji Sin takve sigurno čuva i Zli ih ne može dohvatiti.19 Znamo da smo mi Božja djeca, a da je sav svijet u vlasti Zloga.
20 Znamo i to da je Krist, Božji Sin, došao i dao nam razum da bismo mogli spoznati Istinitoga. Mi smo u Istinitome, u njegovu Sinu Isusu Kristu. On je istiniti Bog i Život vječni.
21 Čuvajte se, djeco moja, idola i svega drugoga što bi u vašim srcima moglo zauzeti Božje mjesto!
1 John 5
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christt has been fatheredt by God, and everyone who loves the fathers loves the child fathered by him.s2 By thist we know that we love the children of God: whenever we love God and obey his commandments.3 Fort this is the love of God:t that we keep his commandments.t And his commandments do not weigh us down,
4 becauset everyonet who has been fathered by Gods conquerst the world.s
Thist is the conquering powert that has conqueredt the world: our faith.
Testimony About the Son
5 Now who is the person who has conquered the world except the one who believes thatt Jesus is the Son of God?6 Jesus Christ is the one who came by water and blood – not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, becauset the Spirit is the truth.7 Fort there are three that testify,sss
8 the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three are in agreement.
9 If we accept the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, becauset thist is the testimony of God thatt he has testified concerning his Son.10 (The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.)s11 And this is the testimony: Godt has given us eternal life,s and this life is in his Son.
12 The one who has the Sons has thist eternalt life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have thist eternalt life.
Assurance of Eternal Life
13 I have written these thingst to you who believet in the name of the Son of God so thatt you may know that you have eternal life.
14 And this is the confidence that we have before him: thatt whenevert we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.15 And if we knowt that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.16 Ift anyone sees his fellow Christiant committing a sin not resulting in death,t he should ask, and Godt will grantt life to the person who commits a sin not resulting in death.t There is a sin resulting in death.t I do not say that he should ask about that.
17 All unrighteousnesst is sin, but there is sin not resulting in death.t
18 We know that everyone fatheredt by God does not sin, but Godt protectst the one he has fathered, and the evil one cannot touch him.19 We know that we are from God,t and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us insight to knowt him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This ones is the true God and eternal life.
21 Little children, guard yourselves from idols.ss
