1 JUAN 5
2. La fe, raíz del amor (5.1-12)
1 Todo aquel que cree que Jesús es el Mesías, es hijo de Dios;t y el que ama a un padre, ama también a los hijos de ese padre. 2 Cuando amamos a Dios y hacemos lo que él manda, sabemos que amamos también a los hijos de Dios. 3 El amar a Dios consiste en obedecer sus mandamientos;t y sus mandamientos no son una carga,t 4 porque todo el que es hijo de Dios vence al mundo. Y nuestra fe nos ha dado la victoria sobre el mundo.
5 El que cree que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios vence al mundo.El testimonio acerca del Hijo de Dios
6 La venida de Jesucristo quedó señalada con agua y sangre;t no solo con agua, sino con agua y sangre. El Espíritu mismo es testigo de esto, y el Espíritu es la verdad. 7 Tres son los testigos:t 8 el Espíritu, el agua y la sangre;t y los tres concuerdan. 9 Aceptamos el testimonio de los hombres, pero el testimonio de Dios es de mucho más valor, porque consiste en el testimonio que Dios ha dado acerca de su Hijo. 10 El que cree en el Hijo de Dios lleva este testimonio en su propio corazón; el que no cree en Dios le deja por mentiroso,t porque no cree en el testimonio que Dios ha dado acerca de su Hijo. 11 Este testimonio es que Dios nos ha dado vida eterna y que esta vida está en su Hijo.t
12 El que tiene al Hijo de Dios tiene también la vida, pero el que no tiene al Hijo de Dios no tiene la vida.tConclusión (5.13-21)
13 Os escribo esto a vosotros que creéis en el Hijo de Dios, para que sepáis que tenéis vida eterna.t
14 Tenemos confianza en Dios, porque sabemos que si le pedimos algo conforme a su voluntad, él nos oye.
15 Y así como sabemos que Dios oye nuestras oraciones, también sabemos que ya tenemos lo que le hemos pedido.t
16 Si alguno ve que su hermano está cometiendo un pecado que no lleva a la muerte, debe orar, y Dios dará vida al hermano. Esto si se trata de un pecado que no lleva a la muerte.t Hay pecado que lleva a la muertet y por ese pecado no digo que se deba orar.
17 Toda maldad es pecado, pero hay pecado que no lleva a la muerte.
18 Sabemos que el que tiene a Dios como Padre no sigue pecando,t porque el Hijo de Dios cuida de élt y el maligno no le toca. 19 Sabemos que somos de Dios y que el mundo entero está bajo el poder del maligno.t 20 Sabemos también que el Hijo de Dios ha venidot y nos ha dado entendimiento para conocer al Dios verdadero. Vivimos unidos al que es verdadero, es decir, a su Hijo Jesucristo. Este es el Dios verdadero y la vida eterna.t 21 Hijitos, guardaos de los dioses falsos.t
1 John 5
1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christt has been fatheredt by God, and everyone who loves the fathers loves the child fathered by him.s2 By thist we know that we love the children of God: whenever we love God and obey his commandments.3 Fort this is the love of God:t that we keep his commandments.t And his commandments do not weigh us down,
4 becauset everyonet who has been fathered by Gods conquerst the world.s
Thist is the conquering powert that has conqueredt the world: our faith.
Testimony About the Son
5 Now who is the person who has conquered the world except the one who believes thatt Jesus is the Son of God?6 Jesus Christ is the one who came by water and blood – not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, becauset the Spirit is the truth.7 Fort there are three that testify,sss
8 the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three are in agreement.
9 If we accept the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, becauset thist is the testimony of God thatt he has testified concerning his Son.10 (The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.)s11 And this is the testimony: Godt has given us eternal life,s and this life is in his Son.
12 The one who has the Sons has thist eternalt life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have thist eternalt life.
Assurance of Eternal Life
13 I have written these thingst to you who believet in the name of the Son of God so thatt you may know that you have eternal life.
14 And this is the confidence that we have before him: thatt whenevert we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.15 And if we knowt that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.16 Ift anyone sees his fellow Christiant committing a sin not resulting in death,t he should ask, and Godt will grantt life to the person who commits a sin not resulting in death.t There is a sin resulting in death.t I do not say that he should ask about that.
17 All unrighteousnesst is sin, but there is sin not resulting in death.t
18 We know that everyone fatheredt by God does not sin, but Godt protectst the one he has fathered, and the evil one cannot touch him.19 We know that we are from God,t and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us insight to knowt him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This ones is the true God and eternal life.
21 Little children, guard yourselves from idols.ss
