Ein Glaube, der Widerstände überwindet

1 tWer glaubt, dass Jesus der von Gott versprochene Retter ist, der ist ein Kind Gottes. Kinder aber, die ihren Vater lieben, die lieben auch ihre Brüder und Schwestern.2 Dass wir wirklich Gottes Kinder lieben, erkennen wir an unserer Liebe zu Gott und daran, dass wir nach seinen Geboten leben.3 tDenn Gott lieben heißt nichts anderes als seine Gebote befolgen; und seine Gebote sind nicht schwer.4 tJedes Kind Gottes kann den Sieg erringen über alles, was sich in dieser Welt Gott widersetzt. Ja, unser Glaube hat diese Welt bereits besiegt.5 tDenn nur wer daran glaubt, dass Jesus der Sohn Gottes ist, kann diesen Sieg erringen.

Drei Zeugen für Jesus Christus

6 tJesus Christus kam zu uns. Er wurde getauft und hat sein Blut für uns am Kreuz vergossen. Nicht allein das Wasser seiner Taufe, sondern auch sein Blut bestätigen ihn als Sohn Gottes.t Das bezeugt auch Gottes Geist. Und Gottes Geist ist die Wahrheit.7 Für Jesus Christus als den Sohn Gottes sprechen also drei Zeugen:8 Gottes Geist, das Wasser der Taufe und das Blut, das Jesus am Kreuz vergossen hat. Alle drei Zeugen stimmen in ihrer Aussage völlig überein.

9 tWenn wir schon den Zeugenaussagen von Menschen Glauben schenken, wie viel mehr müssen wir dann dem vertrauen, was Gott selbst bezeugt. Und Gott hat bezeugt, dass Jesus Christus sein Sohn ist.10 tWer an den Sohn Gottes glaubt, der ist in seinem Innersten von der Wahrheit dieser Aussage überzeugt. Wer Gott nicht glaubt, stellt ihn als Lügner hin; denn er behauptet ja, Gottes Aussage über Jesus Christus sei falsch.11 tGott aber hat ganz eindeutig bezeugt, dass er uns das ewige Leben schenkt, und zwar nur durch seinen Sohn.12 tWer also dem Sohn vertraut, der hat das Leben; wer aber dem Sohn nicht vertraut, der hat auch das Leben nicht.13 Ich weiß, dass ihr an den Sohn Gottes glaubt. Mein Brief sollte euch noch einmal versichern, dass ihr das ewige Leben habt.

Gott erhört unsere Gebete

14 tWir dürfen uns darauf verlassen, dass Gott unser Beten erhört, wenn wir ihn um etwas bitten, was seinem Willen entspricht.15 Und weil Gott solche Gebete ganz gewiss erhört, dürfen wir auch darauf vertrauen, dass er uns gibt, worum wir ihn bitten.

16 Wenn jemand von euch merkt, dass ein anderer Christ eine Sünde begeht, die nicht zum Tod führt, soll er für ihn beten. Dann wird Gott diesem Menschen das Leben schenken. Das gilt aber nicht für die Sünde, die den Tod zur Folge hat. Wenn jemand diese Schuld auf sich lädt, sollt ihr nicht für ihn beten.17 Natürlich ist jedes Unrecht Sünde. Aber nicht jede Sünde führt in den Tod.

18 tWir wissen: Wer ein Kind Gottes ist, der sündigt nicht, weil der Sohn Gottes ihn bewahrt. Darum kann der Teufel ihn nicht zu Fall bringen.19 tWir gehören zu Gott, auch wenn die ganze Welt um uns herum vom Teufel beherrscht wird.

20 tDoch wir wissen, dass der Sohn Gottes zu uns gekommen ist, damit wir durch ihn Gott kennen lernen, der die Wahrheit ist. Nun sind wir eng mit dem wahren Gott verbunden, weil wir mit seinem Sohn Jesus Christus verbunden sind. Ja, Jesus Christus ist selbst der wahre Gott. Er ist das ewige Leben.

21 tDarum, meine Kinder, hütet euch davor, anderen Göttern nachzulaufen!

1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is begotten of God: and whosoever loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.2 Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments.3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.4 For whatsoever is begotten of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that hath overcome the world, even our faith.5 And who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood.7 And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth.8 For there are three who bear witness, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and the three agree in one.9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for the witness of God is this, that he hath borne witness concerning his Son.10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in him: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son.11 And the witness is this, that God gave unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.12 He that hath the Son hath the life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not the life.13 These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, even unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God.14 And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:15 and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.16 If any man see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: not concerning this do I say that he should make request.17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.18 We know that whosoever is begotten of God sinneth not; but he that was begotten of God keepeth himself, and the evil one toucheth him not.19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in the evil one.20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.21 My little children, guard yourselves from idols.
