요한일서 5

하나님의 자녀는 세상을 이김

1 예수님이 그리스도이심을 믿는 사람은 누구나 하나님의 자녀입니다. 그리고 하나님 아버지를 사랑하는 사람은 그분의 자녀들도 사랑합니다.

2 우리가 하나님을 사랑하고 그분의 계명을 지킬 때 이것으로 우리는 하나님의 자녀들을 사랑하고 있다는 것을 알게 됩니다.

3 하나님을 사랑하는 것은 곧 그분의 계명을 지키는 것입니다. 그분의 계명은 부담스러운 것이 아닙니다.

4 하나님의 자녀들은 누구나 세상을 이길 수 있기 때문입니다. 세상을 이긴 것은 바로 우리의 믿음입니다.

5 예수님이 하나님의 아들이심을 믿는 사람이 아니면 누가 세상을 이기겠습니까?

6 하나님의 아들은 물과 피로 오신 예수 그리스도이십니다. 그분은 물로만 오신 것이 아니라 물과 피로 오셨습니다.

7 이 사실을 증거하시는 분은 성령님이십니다. 이것은 성령님 자신이 진리이시기 때문입니다.

8 여기에는 세 증인이 있는데 그것은 성령과 물과 피입니다. 이 셋은 하나같이 예수 그리스도가 하나님의 아들이라는 것을 증거하고 있습니다.

9 만일 우리가 사람의 증거를 인정한다면 하나님께서 그의 아들에 대하여 증거하신 훨씬 더 강력한 증거는 더욱더 인정해야 합니다.

10 하나님의 아들을 믿는 사람은 자기 마음속에 이 증거를 가지고 있습니다. 하나님을 믿지 않는 사람은 하나님을 거짓말쟁이로 만든 것입니다. 이것은 하나님이 자기 아들에 대하여 증거하신 것을 그가 믿지 않았기 때문입니다.

11 그 증거는 하나님이 우리에게 영원한 생명을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그분의 아들 안에 있는 이것입니다.

12 하나님의 아들을 모신 사람은 생명을 가졌으나 아들을 모시지 않은 사람에게는 생명이 없습니다.

13 나는 하나님의 아들을 믿는 여러분이 영원한 생명을 가졌다는 것을 알게 하려고 이 글을 씁니다.

14 우리는 무엇이든지 하나님의 뜻대로만 구하면 하나님이 우리의 기도를 들어주신다는 확신을 가지고 있습니다.

15 우리가 무엇을 구하든지 하나님이 우리 기도를 들어주신다는 것을 알면 우리가 구한 것을 받은 것도 알게 됩니다.

16 형제가 죄를 짓는 것을 보게 될 때 그것이 죽을 죄가 아니라면 하나님께 용서를 구하십시오. 그러면 하나님께서 그를 살려 주실 것입니다. 그러나 죽을 죄가 있습니다. 그것에 대하여 나는 기도하라고 말하지 않습니다.

17 의롭지 못한 모든 것이 죄이지만 죽지 않을 죄도 있습니다.

18 하나님의 자녀는 계속해서 죄를 짓지 않는다는 것을 우리는 압니다. 하나님의 아들이 그를 지켜 주시기 때문에 악한 마귀도 그를 건드리지 못합니다.

19 우리는 하나님께 속하였고 온 세상은 마귀의 지배 아래 있습니다.

20 그러나 하나님의 아들이 오셔서 우리에게 깨달음을 주심으로 참되신 하나님을 알 수 있게 하셨습니다. 그래서 우리는 참되신 하나님과 그분의 아들 예수 그리스도 안에 있게 되었습니다. 예수 그리스도는 참되신 하나님이시며 영원한 생명이십니다.

21 사랑하는 자녀들이여, 온갖 우상으로부터 여러분 자신을 지키십시오.

1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is begotten of God: and whosoever loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.2 Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments.3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.4 For whatsoever is begotten of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that hath overcome the world, even our faith.5 And who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood.7 And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth.8 For there are three who bear witness, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and the three agree in one.9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for the witness of God is this, that he hath borne witness concerning his Son.10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in him: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son.11 And the witness is this, that God gave unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.12 He that hath the Son hath the life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not the life.13 These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, even unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God.14 And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:15 and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.16 If any man see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: not concerning this do I say that he should make request.17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.18 We know that whosoever is begotten of God sinneth not; but he that was begotten of God keepeth himself, and the evil one toucheth him not.19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in the evil one.20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.21 My little children, guard yourselves from idols.
