1 Johannes 5

Den som tror på Gud, seirer over verden

1 Hver den som tror at Jesus er Kristus, er født av Gud. Og hver den som elsker Faderen, elsker også den som er født av ham. s2 På dette kjenner vi at vi elsker Guds barn: når vi elsker Gud og holder hans bud. 3 For dette er kjærligheten til Gud at vi holder fast på hans bud. Og hans bud er ikke tunge. s4 For alt det som er født av Gud, seirer over verden. Og dette er den seier som har seiret over verden: vår tro. s5 Hvem er den som seirer over verden, uten den som tror at Jesus er Guds Sønn? s6 Han er den som er kommet med vann og med blod, Jesus Kristus - ikke bare med vannet, men med vannet og med blodet. Og Ånden er den som vitner, fordi Ånden er sannheten. s

Den som har Sønnen, har livet

7 For de er tre som vitner: 8 Ånden og vannet og blodet, og disse tre samstemmer. 9 Tar vi imot menneskers vitnesbyrd, så er Guds vitnesbyrd større. For dette er Guds vitnesbyrd, at han har vitnet om sin Sønn. s10 Den som tror på Guds Sønn, har vitnesbyrdet i seg selv. Den som ikke tror Gud, har gjort ham til en løgner, fordi han ikke har trodd det vitnesbyrdet Gud har vitnet om sin Sønn. s11 Og dette er vitnesbyrdet at Gud har gitt oss evig liv, og dette liv er i hans Sønn. s12 Den som har Sønnen, har livet. Den som ikke har Guds Sønn, har ikke livet. s

I bønn og lydighet til Gud

13 Dette har jeg skrevet til dere for at dere skal vite at dere har evig liv, dere som tror på Guds Sønns navn. s14 Og dette er den frimodige tilliten vi har til ham, at dersom vi ber om noe etter hans vilje, så hører han oss, s15 og dersom vi vet at han hører oss, hva vi enn ber om, da vet vi at vi har fått våre bønneemner oppfylt hos ham. 16 Dersom noen ser sin bror gjøre en synd som ikke er til døden, så skal han be, og han skal gi ham liv - det vil si dem som synder, men ikke til døden. Det finnes synd som er til døden, det er ikke om den jeg sier at han skal be. ss17 Enhver urettferdighet er synd, og det er synd som ikke er til døden. s18 Vi vet at den som er født av Gud, ikke synder. Men den som er født av Gud, tar seg i vare, og den onde rører ham ikke. s19 Vi vet at vi er av Gud. Men hele verden ligger i det onde. s20 Vi vet at Guds Sønn er kommet, og han har gitt oss forstand så vi kjenner Den Sanne. Og vi er i Den Sanne, i hans Sønn, Jesus Kristus. Han er den sanne Gud og det evige liv. ss21 Mine barn, ta dere i vare for avgudene! s

1 John 5

1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is begotten of God: and whosoever loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.2 Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments.3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.4 For whatsoever is begotten of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that hath overcome the world, even our faith.5 And who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood.7 And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth.8 For there are three who bear witness, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and the three agree in one.9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for the witness of God is this, that he hath borne witness concerning his Son.10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in him: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son.11 And the witness is this, that God gave unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.12 He that hath the Son hath the life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not the life.13 These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, even unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God.14 And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:15 and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.16 If any man see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: not concerning this do I say that he should make request.17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.18 We know that whosoever is begotten of God sinneth not; but he that was begotten of God keepeth himself, and the evil one toucheth him not.19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in the evil one.20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.21 My little children, guard yourselves from idols.
