Croire le témoignage de Dieu
1 tQuiconque croit que Jésus est le Christ est né de Dieu, et quiconque aime celui qui fait naître aime aussi celui qui est né de lui. 2 tA ceci nous savons que nous aimons les enfants de Dieu : quand nous aimons Dieu et que nous agissons selon ses commandements. 3 tCar l’amour de Dieu, c’est que nous gardions ses commandements. Et ses commandements ne sont pas un fardeau,
4 tparce que tout ce qui est né de Dieu est vainqueur du monde ; et la victoire qui a vaincu le monde, c’est notre foi.
5 tQui est vainqueur du monde, sinon celui qui croit que Jésus est le Fils de Dieu ? 6 tC’est lui, Jésus-Christ, qui est venu par l’eau et le sang ; non pas avec l’eau seulement, mais avec l’eau et avec le sang ; et c’est l’Esprit qui rend témoignage, parce que l’Esprit est la vérité. 7 tCar il y en a trois qui rendent témoignage : 8 tl’Esprit, l’eau et le sang, et les trois sont d’accord. 9 tSi nous recevons le témoignage des humains, le témoignage de Dieu est plus grand ; car le témoignage de Dieu, c’est qu’il rend témoignage à son Fils.
10 tCelui qui met sa foi dans le Fils de Dieu a ce témoignage en lui-même ; celui qui n’a pas foi en Dieu fait de lui un menteur, puisqu’il n’a pas mis sa foi dans le témoignage que Dieu a rendu à son Fils.
11 tCe témoignage, c’est que Dieu nous a donné la vie éternelle ; et cette vie est en son Fils.
12 tCelui qui a le Fils a la vie ; celui qui n’a pas le Fils de Dieu n’a pas la vie.L’assurance de la foi
13 tCela, je vous l’ai écrit pour que vous sachiez que vous avez la vie éternelle, vous qui mettez votre foi dans le nom du Fils de Dieu. 14 tL’assurance que nous avons auprès de lui, c’est que, si nous demandons quoi que ce soit selon sa volonté, il nous entend.
15 tEt si nous savons qu’il nous entend, quoi que nous demandions, nous savons que nous avons ce que nous lui avons demandé.
16 tSi quelqu’un voit son frère commettre un péché qui ne mène pas à la mort, qu’il demande, et il lui donnera la vie ; il s’agit de ceux qui commettent un péché qui ne mène pas à la mort. Il y a un péché qui mène à la mort, ce n’est pas pour celui-là que je dis de demander.
17 tToute injustice est péché – et il y a un péché qui ne mène pas à la mort.
18 tNous savons que quiconque est né de Dieu ne pèche pas ; mais celui qui naît de Dieu le garde, et le Mauvais ne le touche pas. 19 tNous savons que nous sommes de Dieu, et que le monde entier gît au pouvoir du Mauvais.
20 tMais nous savons aussi que le Fils de Dieu est venu, et qu’il nous a donné l’intelligence pour que nous connaissions celui qui est le Vrai ; et nous sommes dans le Vrai, en son Fils Jésus-Christ. C’est lui le vrai Dieu et la vie éternelle.
21 tMes enfants, gardez-vous des idoles.
1 John 5
1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is begotten of God: and whosoever loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.2 Hereby we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and do his commandments.3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.4 For whatsoever is begotten of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that hath overcome the world, even our faith.5 And who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood.7 And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is the truth.8 For there are three who bear witness, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and the three agree in one.9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for the witness of God is this, that he hath borne witness concerning his Son.10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in him: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he hath not believed in the witness that God hath borne concerning his Son.11 And the witness is this, that God gave unto us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.12 He that hath the Son hath the life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not the life.13 These things have I written unto you, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, even unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God.14 And this is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us:15 and if we know that he heareth us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.16 If any man see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and God will give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: not concerning this do I say that he should make request.17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.18 We know that whosoever is begotten of God sinneth not; but he that was begotten of God keepeth himself, and the evil one toucheth him not.19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in the evil one.20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.21 My little children, guard yourselves from idols.
