Fe victoriosa

1 Todo el que cree que Jesús es el Cristot, ha llegado a ser hijo de Dios. El que ama al Padre, también ama a los hijos de ese Padre.2 Si amamos a Dios y ponemos en práctica sus mandamientos, sabemos que amamos a los hijos de Dios.3 Pues demostramos el amor a Dios poniendo en práctica sus mandamientos, y sus mandamientos no son difíciles de poner en práctica,4 porque todo aquel que sea hijo de Dios vence al mundo. Nuestra fe nos ha dado la victoria sobre el mundo.

5 ¿Quién es el que vence al mundo? El que cree que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios.

El testimonio de Dios

6 Jesucristo es el que vino a nosotros mediante agua y sangret; no vino solamente mediante agua sino también mediante sangre. El Espíritu da testimonio de que esto es cierto, porque el Espíritu es la verdad.7 Hay tres testigos:8 el Espíritu, el agua y la sangre, y los tres están de acuerdo en su testimonio.9 Si aceptamos el testimonio de los hombres, debemos reconocer que el testimonio de Dios es más importante; y lo que Dios nos dice es la verdad acerca de su propio Hijo.10 El que cree en el Hijo de Dios acepta lo que dice Dios. Pero el que no cree está diciendo indirectamente que Dios es un mentiroso, porque no cree en el testimonio que Dios ha dado acerca de su Hijo.11 Este es el testimonio: Dios nos ha dado vida eterna, y esa vida se encuentra en su Hijo.

12 El que tiene al Hijo tiene esa vida, pero el que no tiene al Hijo de Dios, no la tiene.
13 Les escribo esto a ustedes que creen en el Hijo de Dios, para que sepan que ya participan de la vida eterna.14 La seguridad que tenemos al estar unidos a Dios es esta: Dios escucha nuestras oraciones cuando le pedimos conforme a su voluntad.

15 Puesto que sabemos que Dios nos oye, tengamos la certeza de que él nos dará cualquier cosa que le pidamos.
16 Si alguno ve que su hermano en Cristo está cometiendo un pecado que no lo lleva a la muerte eterna, debe orar por su hermano y Dios le dará vida a su hermano. Digo un pecado que no lleva a la muerte eterna, porque hay un pecado que lleva a la muerte eterna, en ese caso yo no digo que se ore.

17 Cualquier tipo de injusticia es pecado, pero hay pecados que no llevan a la muerte eterna.
18 Sabemos que el que ha llegado a ser hijo de Dios no sigue pecando, porque el Hijo de Dios lo mantiene seguro, y el malignot no le puede hacer daño.19 Sabemos que somos de Dios aunque el mundo entero esté controlado por el maligno.20 También sabemos que el Hijo de Dios ha venido y nos ha dado el entendimiento para conocer al único Dios verdadero. Nosotros lo conocemos, pues estamos en su Hijo Jesucristo. Él es el verdadero Dios y la vida eterna.

21 Hijitos, manténganse alejados de los dioses falsost.

Overcoming the World

1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the tChrist is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments.3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith.

5 Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?6 This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.7 For there are three that testify:8 tthe Spirit and the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater; for the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son.10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.

This Is Written That You May Know

13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.

16 If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask and God will for him give life to those who commit sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death; I do not say that he should make request for this.17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.

18 We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.19 We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

21 Little children, guard yourselves from idols.
