1. Johannes 5

1 Jeder, der da glaubt, daß Jesus der Christus ist, ist aus Gott geboren; und jeder, der den liebt, welcher geboren hat, liebt auch den, der aus ihm geboren ist.2 Hieran wissen wir, daß wir die Kinder Gottes lieben, wenn wir Gott lieben und seine Gebote halten.3 Denn dies ist die Liebe Gottes, daß wir seine Gebote halten, und seine Gebote sind nicht schwer.4 Denn alles, was aus Gott geboren ist, überwindet die Welt; und dies ist der Sieg, der die Welt überwunden hat: unser Glaube.5 Wer ist es, der die Welt überwindet, wenn nicht der, welcher glaubt, daß Jesus der Sohn Gottes ist?6 Dieser ist es, der gekommen ist durch Wasser und Blut, Jesus, der Christus; nicht durch das Wasser allein, sondern durch das Wasser und das Blut. Und der Geist ist es, der da zeugt, weil der Geist die Wahrheit ist.7 Denn drei sind, die da zeugen:8 der Geist und das Wasser und das Blut, und die drei sind einstimmig.9 Wenn wir das Zeugnis der Menschen annehmen, das Zeugnis Gottes ist größer; denn dies ist das Zeugnis Gottes, welches er gezeugt hat über seinen Sohn.10 Wer an den Sohn Gottes glaubt, hat das Zeugnis in sich selbst; wer Gott nicht glaubt, hat ihn zum Lügner gemacht, weil er nicht an das Zeugnis geglaubt hat, welches Gott gezeugt hat über seinen Sohn.11 Und dies ist das Zeugnis: daß Gott uns ewiges Leben gegeben hat, und dieses Leben ist in seinem Sohne.12 Wer den Sohn hat, hat das Leben; wer den Sohn Gottes nicht hat, hat das Leben nicht.13 Dies habe ich euch geschrieben, auf daß ihr wisset, daß ihr ewiges Leben habt, die ihr glaubet an den Namen des Sohnes Gottes.14 Und dies ist die Zuversicht, die wir zu ihm haben, daß, wenn wir etwas nach seinem Willen bitten, er uns hört.15 Und wenn wir wissen, daß er uns hört, um was irgend wir bitten, so wissen wir, daß wir die Bitten haben, die wir von ihm erbeten haben.16 Wenn jemand seinen Bruder sündigen sieht, eine Sünde nicht zum Tode, so wird er bitten, und er wird ihm das Leben geben, denen, die nicht zum Tode sündigen. Es gibt Sünde zum Tode; nicht für diese sage ich, daß er bitten solle.17 Jede Ungerechtigkeit ist Sünde; und es gibt Sünde, die nicht zum Tode ist.18 Wir wissen, daß jeder, der aus Gott geboren ist, nicht sündigt; sondern der aus Gott Geborene bewahrt sich, und der Böse tastet ihn nicht an.19 Wir wissen, daß wir aus Gott sind, und die ganze Welt liegt in dem Bösen.20 Wir wissen aber, daß der Sohn Gottes gekommen ist und uns ein Verständnis gegeben hat, auf daß wir den Wahrhaftigen kennen; und wir sind in dem Wahrhaftigen, in seinem Sohne Jesus Christus. Dieser ist der wahrhaftige Gott und das ewige Leben.21 Kinder, hütet euch vor den Götzen!

1 John 5

1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christt has been fatheredt by God, and everyone who loves the fathers loves the child fathered by him.s2 By thist we know that we love the children of God: whenever we love God and obey his commandments.3 Fort this is the love of God:t that we keep his commandments.t And his commandments do not weigh us down,

4 becauset everyonet who has been fathered by Gods conquerst the world.s
Thist is the conquering powert that has conqueredt the world: our faith.

Testimony About the Son

5 Now who is the person who has conquered the world except the one who believes thatt Jesus is the Son of God?6 Jesus Christ is the one who came by water and blood – not by the water only, but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, becauset the Spirit is the truth.7 Fort there are three that testify,sss

8 the Spirit and the water and the blood, and these three are in agreement.
9 If we accept the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, becauset thist is the testimony of God thatt he has testified concerning his Son.10 (The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.)s11 And this is the testimony: Godt has given us eternal life,s and this life is in his Son.

12 The one who has the Sons has thist eternalt life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have thist eternalt life.

Assurance of Eternal Life

13 I have written these thingst to you who believet in the name of the Son of God so thatt you may know that you have eternal life.
14 And this is the confidence that we have before him: thatt whenevert we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.15 And if we knowt that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.16 Ift anyone sees his fellow Christiant committing a sin not resulting in death,t he should ask, and Godt will grantt life to the person who commits a sin not resulting in death.t There is a sin resulting in death.t I do not say that he should ask about that.

17 All unrighteousnesst is sin, but there is sin not resulting in death.t
18 We know that everyone fatheredt by God does not sin, but Godt protectst the one he has fathered, and the evil one cannot touch him.19 We know that we are from God,t and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us insight to knowt him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This ones is the true God and eternal life.
