1 Peter 2

第2章

1 だから、あらゆる悪意、あらゆる偽り、偽善、そねみ、いっさいの悪口を捨てて、2 今生れたばかりの乳飲み子のように、混じりけのない霊の乳を慕い求めなさい。それによっておい育ち、救に入るようになるためである。3 あなたがたは、主が恵み深いかたであることを、すでに味わい知ったはずである。4 主は、人には捨てられたが、神にとっては選ばれた尊い生ける石である。5 この主のみもとにきて、あなたがたも、それぞれ生ける石となって、霊の家に築き上げられ、聖なる祭司となって、イエス・キリストにより、神によろこばれる霊のいけにえを、ささげなさい。6 聖書にこう書いてある、「見よ、わたしはシオンに、選ばれた尊い石、隅のかしら石を置く。それにより頼む者は、決して、失望に終ることがない」。7 この石は、より頼んでいるあなたがたには尊いものであるが、不信仰な人々には「家造りらの捨てた石で、隅のかしら石となったもの」、8 また「つまずきの石、妨げの岩」である。しかし、彼らがつまずくのは、御言に従わないからであって、彼らは、実は、そうなるように定められていたのである。9 しかし、あなたがたは、選ばれた種族、祭司の国、聖なる国民、神につける民である。それによって、暗やみから驚くべきみ光に招き入れて下さったかたのみわざを、あなたがたが語り伝えるためである。10 あなたがたは、以前は神の民でなかったが、いまは神の民であり、以前は、あわれみを受けたことのない者であったが、いまは、あわれみを受けた者となっている。11 愛する者たちよ。あなたがたに勧める。あなたがたは、この世の旅人であり寄留者であるから、たましいに戦いをいどむ肉の欲を避けなさい。12 異邦人の中にあって、りっぱな行いをしなさい。そうすれば、彼らは、あなたがたを悪人呼ばわりしていても、あなたがたのりっぱなわざを見て、かえって、おとずれの日に神をあがめるようになろう。13 あなたがたは、すべて人の立てた制度に、主のゆえに従いなさい。主権者としての王であろうと、14 あるいは、悪を行う者を罰し善を行う者を賞するために、王からつかわされた長官であろうと、これに従いなさい。15 善を行うことによって、愚かな人々の無知な発言を封じるのは、神の御旨なのである。16 自由人にふさわしく行動しなさい。ただし、自由をば悪を行う口実として用いず、神の僕にふさわしく行動しなさい。17 すべての人をうやまい、兄弟たちを愛し、神をおそれ、王を尊びなさい。18 僕たる者よ。心からのおそれをもって、主人に仕えなさい。善良で寛容な主人だけにでなく、気むずかしい主人にも、そうしなさい。19 もしだれかが、不当な苦しみを受けても、神を仰いでその苦痛を耐え忍ぶなら、それはよみせられることである。20 悪いことをして打ちたたかれ、それを忍んだとしても、なんの手柄になるのか。しかし善を行って苦しみを受け、しかもそれを耐え忍んでいるとすれば、これこそ神によみせられることである。21 あなたがたは、実に、そうするようにと召されたのである。キリストも、あなたがたのために苦しみを受け、御足の跡を踏み従うようにと、模範を残されたのである。22 キリストは罪を犯さず、その口には偽りがなかった。23 ののしられても、ののしりかえさず、苦しめられても、おびやかすことをせず、正しいさばきをするかたに、いっさいをゆだねておられた。24 さらに、わたしたちが罪に死に、義に生きるために、十字架にかかって、わたしたちの罪をご自分の身に負われた。その傷によって、あなたがたは、いやされたのである。25 あなたがたは、羊のようにさ迷っていたが、今は、たましいの牧者であり監督であるかたのもとに、たち帰ったのである。

1 Peter 2

1 Putting away therefore all wickedness, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,2 as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation;3 if ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious:4 unto whom coming, a living stone, rejected indeed of men, but with God elect, precious,5 ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.6 Because it is contained in scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame.

7 For you therefore that believe is the preciousness: but for such as disbelieve, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner;

8 and, A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence; for they stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.9 But ye are a elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:10 who in time past were no people, but now are the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.11 Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lust, which war against the soul;12 having your behavior seemly among the Gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.13 Be subject to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether to the king, as supreme;14 or unto governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evil-doers and for praise to them that do well.15 For so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:16 as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.17 Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.18 Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.19 For this is acceptable, if for conscience toward God a man endureth griefs, suffering wrongfully.20 For what glory is it, if, when ye sin, and are buffeted for it, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye shall take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.21 For hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:23 who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:24 who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.25 For ye were going astray like sheep; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
