1. Petrus 3
1 Gleicherweise ihr Weiber, seid euren eigenen Männern unterwürfig, auf daß, wenn auch etliche dem Worte nicht gehorchen, sie durch den Wandel t der Weiber ohne Wort mögen gewonnen werden,2 indem sie euren in Furcht keuschen Wandel angeschaut haben;3 deren Schmuck sei nicht der auswendige durch Flechten der Haare und Umhängen von Gold oder Anziehen von Kleidern,4 sondern der verborgene Mensch des Herzens in dem unverweslichen Schmuck des sanften und stillen Geistes, welcher vor Gott sehr köstlich ist.5 Denn also schmückten sich auch einst die heiligen Weiber, die ihre Hoffnung auf Gott setzten, indem sie ihren eigenen Männern unterwürfig waren:6 wie Sarah dem Abraham gehorchte und ihn Herr nannte, deren Kinder ihr geworden seid, wenn t ihr Gutes tut und keinerlei Schrecken fürchtet.
7 Ihr Männer gleicherweise, wohnet bei ihnen nach Erkenntnis, t als bei einem schwächeren Gefäße, dem weiblichen, ihnen Ehre gebend, als die auch Miterben der Gnade des Lebens sind, auf daß eure Gebete nicht verhindert werden.
8 Endlich aber seid alle gleichgesinnt, mitleidig, voll brüderlicher Liebe, barmherzig, demütig, t9 und vergeltet nicht Böses mit Bösem, oder Scheltwort mit Scheltwort, sondern im Gegenteil segnet, weil ihr dazu berufen worden seid, daß ihr Segen ererbet.10 "Denn wer das Leben lieben und gute Tage sehen will, der enthalte seine Zunge vom Bösen, und seine Lippen, daß sie nicht Trug reden;11 er wende sich ab vom Bösen und tue Gutes; er suche Frieden und jage ihm nach;12 denn die Augen des Herrn sind gerichtet auf die Gerechten, und seine Ohren auf ihr Flehen; das Angesicht des Herrn aber ist wider die, welche Böses tun." t13 Und wer ist, der euch Böses tun wird, wenn ihr Nachahmer des Guten geworden seid?14 Aber wenn ihr auch leiden solltet um der Gerechtigkeit willen, glückselig seid ihr! Fürchtet aber nicht ihre Furcht, noch seid bestürzt,
15 sondern heiliget Christus, den Herrn, t in euren Herzen. t Seid aber jederzeit bereit zur Verantwortung gegen jeden, der Rechenschaft von euch fordert über die Hoffnung, die in euch ist, aber mit Sanftmut und Furcht;
16 indem ihr ein gutes Gewissen habt, auf daß, worin sie wider euch als Übeltäter reden, die zu Schanden werden, welche euren guten Wandel in Christo verleumden.
17 Denn es ist besser, wenn der Wille Gottes es will, t für Gutestun zu leiden, als für Bösestun.
18 Denn es hat ja t Christus einmal für Sünden gelitten, der Gerechte für die Ungerechten, auf daß er uns zu Gott führe, getötet nach t dem Fleische, aber lebendig gemacht nach dem Geiste,19 in welchem er auch hinging und predigte den Geistern, die im Gefängnis sind,
20 welche einst ungehorsam waren, t als die Langmut Gottes harrte in den Tagen Noahs, während die Arche zugerichtet wurde, in welche t wenige, daß ist acht Seelen, durch Wasser t gerettet wurden,
21 welches Gegenbild auch euch jetzt errettet, das ist die Taufe (nicht ein Ablegen der Unreinigkeit des Fleisches, sondern das Begehren t eines guten Gewissens vor t Gott), durch die Auferstehung Jesu Christi,
22 welcher, in den Himmel gegangen, zur Rechten Gottes ist, indem Engel und Gewalten und Mächte ihm unterworfen sind.

Wives and Husbands
1 In the same way, wives, be subject to your own husbands. Then,t even if some are disobedient to the word, they will be won over without a word by the way you live,t2 when they see your pure and reverent conduct.t3 Let yourt beautyt not be external – the braiding of hair and wearing of gold jewelryt or fine clothes –4 but the inner persont of the heart, the lasting beauty of a gentle and tranquil spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.5 For in the same way the holy women who hoped in God long ago adorned themselves by being subject to their husbands,6 like Sarah who obeyedt Abraham, calling him lord. You become her childrent when you do what is good and have no fear in doing so.t
7 Husbands, in the same way, treat your wives with consideration as the weaker partnerst and show them honor as fellow heirs of the grace of life. In this way nothing will hinder your prayers.t
Suffering for Doing Good
8 Finally, all of you be harmonious,t sympathetic, affectionate, compassionate, and humble.9 Do not return evil for evil or insult for insult, but instead blesst otherst because you were called to inherit a blessing.
10 For
the one who wants to love life and see good days must keepthis tongue from evil and his lips from uttering deceit.
11 And he must turn away from evil and do good;
he must seek peace and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord aretupon the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer.
But the Lord’s face is against those who do evil.s
13 Fort who is going to harm you if you are devoted to what is good?14 But in fact, if you happen to suffers for doing what is right,t you are blessed. But do not be terrified of themtor be shaken.s15 But set Christs apartt as Lord in your hearts and always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks about the hope you possess.t16 Yet do it with courtesy and respect,t keeping a good conscience, so that those who slander your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame when they accuse you.t
17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if God wills it,t than for doing evil.
18 s Because Christ also suffereds once for sins,
the just for the unjust,s
to bring you to God,
by being put to death in the flesh
butt by being made alive in the spirit.s
19 In itt he went and preached to the spirits in prison,s
20 after they were disobedient long agot when God patiently waitedt in the days of Noah as an ark was being constructed. In the arkt a few, that is eight souls, were delivered through water.21 And this prefigured baptism, which now saves yout – not the washing off of physical dirtt but the pledget of a good conscience to God – through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
22 who went into heaven and is at the right hand of Godt with angels and authorities and powers subject to him.t
