۱-پطرس 5

خُدا کا گلّہ

1 تُم میں جو بزُرگ ہیں مَیں اُن کی طرح بزُرگ اور مسِیح کے دُکھوں کا گواہ اور ظاہِر ہونے والے جلال میں شرِیک بھی ہو کر اُن کو یہ نصِیحت کرتا ہُوں۔ 2 کہ خُدا کے اُس گلّہ کی گلّہ بانی کرو جو تُم میں ہے ۔ لاچاری سے نِگہبانی نہ کرو بلکہ خُدا کی مرضی کے مُوافِق خُوشی سے اور ناجائِز نفع کے لِئے نہیں بلکہ دِلی شَوق سے۔ 3 اور جو لوگ تُمہارے سپُرد ہیں اُن پر حُکومت نہ جتاؤ بلکہ گلّہ کے لِئے نمُونہ بنو۔

4 اور جب سردار گلّہ بان ظاہِر ہو گا تو تُم کو جلال کا اَیسا سِہرا مِلے گا جو مُرجھانے کا نہیں۔
5 اَے جوانو! تُم بھی بزُرگوں کے تابِع رہو بلکہ سب کے سب ایک دُوسرے کی خِدمت کے لِئے فروتنی سے کمربستہ رہو اِس لِئے کہ خُدا مغرُوروں کا مُقابلہ کرتا ہے مگر فروتنوں کو تَوفِیق بخشتا ہے۔ 6 پس خُدا کے قَوی ہاتھ کے نِیچے فروتنی سے رہو تاکہ وہ تُمہیں وقت پر سر بُلند کرے۔

7 اور اپنی ساری فِکر اُسی پر ڈال دو کیونکہ اُس کو تُمہاری فِکرہے۔
8 تُم ہوشیار اور بیدار رہو ۔ تُمہارا مُخالِف اِبلِیس گرجنے والے شیرِ بَبر کی طرح ڈُھونڈتا پِھرتا ہے کہ کِس کو پھاڑ کھائے۔ 9 تُم اِیمان میں مضبُوط ہو کر اور یہ جان کر اُس کا مُقابلہ کرو کہ تُمہارے بھائی جو دُنیا میں ہیں اَیسے ہی دُکھ اُٹھا رہے ہیں۔ 10 اب خُدا جو ہر طرح کے فضل کا چشمہ ہے ۔ جِس نے تُم کو مسِیح میں اپنے ابدی جلال کے لِئے بُلایا تُمہارے تھوڑی مُدّت تک دُکھ اُٹھانے کے بعد آپ ہی تُمہیں کامِل اور قائِم اور مضبُوط کرے گا۔

11 ابدُالآباد اُسی کی سلطنت رہے ۔ آمِین۔

اِختتامی سلام

12 مَیں نے سِلوانُس کی معرفت جو میری دانِست میں دِیانت دار بھائی ہے مُختصر طَور پر لِکھ کر تُمہیں نصِیحت کی اور یہ گواہی دی کہ خُدا کا سچّا فضل یِہی ہے ۔ اِسی پر قائِم رہو۔
13 جو بابل میں تُمہاری طرح برگُزِیدہ ہے وہ اور میرا بیٹا مرقس تُمہیں سلام کہتے ہیں۔

14 مُحبّت سے بوسہ لے لے کر آپس میں سلام کرو۔
تُم سب کو جو مسِیح میں ہو اِطمِینان حاصِل ہوتا رہے۔

Helping Christian Leaders

1 Church leaders, I am writing to encourage you. I too am a leader, as well as a witness to Christ's suffering, and I will share in his glory when it is shown to us.
2  t Just as shepherds watch over their sheep, you must watch over everyone God has placed in your care. Do it willingly in order to please God, and not simply because you think you must. Let it be something you want to do, instead of something you do merely to make money. 3 Don't be bossy to those people who are in your care, but set an example for them.

4 Then when Christ the Chief Shepherd returns, you will be given a crown that will never lose its glory.

5  t All of you young people should obey your elders. In fact, everyone should be humble toward everyone else. The Scriptures say,
“God opposes proud people,
but he helps everyone
who is humble.”
6  t Be humble in the presence of God's mighty power, and he will honor you when the time comes.

7 t God cares for you, so turn all your worries over to him.
8 Be on your guard and stay awake. Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion, sneaking around to find someone to attack. 9 But you must resist the devil and stay strong in your faith. You know that all over the world the Lord's followers are suffering just as you are. 10 But God shows undeserved kindness to everyone. That's why he appointed Christ Jesus to choose you to share in his eternal glory. You will suffer for a while, but God will make you complete, steady, strong, and firm.

11 God will be in control forever! Amen.
