帖撒罗尼迦前书 4

做圣洁的人

1 此外，弟兄们，我们在主耶稣里请求你们、劝勉你们：既然从我们学到了该怎样行事为人，怎样讨神的喜悦——就像你们也在行的——你们就要更加努力，2 因为你们知道，我们藉着主耶稣所传给你们的是什么吩咐。

3 神的旨意正是要你们分别为圣：要你们远避淫乱，4 要你们每个人知道怎样在圣洁、尊贵中持守自己的身体t，5 而不要像那些不认识神的外邦人那样，放纵邪情私欲；6 不可有人在这事上越轨，对不起他的弟兄，因为关于这一切事，主是报应者，正如我们以前也告诉过、郑重地劝诫过你们。7 要知道，神召唤我们，不是要我们沾染污秽，而是要我们分别为圣。8 因此，那拒绝这吩咐t的，不是拒绝人，而是拒绝神——就是将他的圣灵赐给你们t的那一位。

基督徒的行事为人

9 关于弟兄之爱，你们不需要我t写什么给你们，因为你们自己蒙了神的教导，要彼此相爱。10 实际上，你们对整个马其顿省的所有弟兄就是这样做的。不过弟兄们，我们劝你们要更加努力。11 你们要立定心志安静下来、做自己的事、亲手做工，正如我们曾经吩咐过你们的，12 好使你们在外人面前能够行事端正，不会有什么缺乏t。

基督再来的盼望

13 弟兄们，关于睡了的人，我们不愿意你们不明白，免得你们忧伤，就像其他那些没有盼望的人一样。14 我们既然相信耶稣死而复活了，照样也相信，那些藉着耶稣已经睡了的人，神将要把他们与耶稣一同带来t。15 的确，我们现在照着主的话告诉你们这一点：我们这些活着存留到主来临的人，绝不会在那些已经睡了的人之先，16 因为在发令的呼喊声中，在天使长的声音和神的号角声中，主要亲自从天降临，而且那些在基督里死去的人要先复活，17 然后我们这些还活着存留的人，要与他们一同被提到云里，在空中与主相会。这样，我们就要永远与主在一起了。18 所以，你们当用这些话彼此鼓励。

1 Thessalonians 4

A Life Pleasing to God

1 Finally then, brothers and sisters,t we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received instruction from us about hows you must live and please God (as you are in fact living)s that you do so more and more.2 For you know what commands we gave you through the Lord Jesus.3 For this is God’s will: that you become holy,t that you keep away from sexual immorality,4 that each of you know how to possess his own bodyt in holiness and honor,5 not in lustful passion like the Gentiles who do not know God.6 In this matter no one should violate the rights of his brother or take advantage of him,t because the Lord is the avenger in all these cases,t as we also told you earlier and warned you solemnly.7 For God did not call us to impurity but in holiness.

8 Consequently the one who rejects this is not rejecting human authorityt but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.
9 Now on the topic of brotherly lovet you have no need for anyone to write you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another.10 And indeed you are practicing it toward all the brothers and sisterst in all of Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more,s11 to aspire to lead a quiet life, to attend to your own business, and to work with your hands, as we commanded you.

12 In this way you will livet a decent life before outsiders and not be in need.t

The Lord Returns for Believers

13 Now we do not want you to be uninformed,t brothers and sisters,t about those who are asleep,t so that you will not grieve like the rest who have no hope.14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe thatt God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep as Christians.t15 For we tell you this by the word of the Lord,s that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not go ahead of those who have fallen asleep.16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel,t and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.17 Then we who are alive, who are left,s will be suddenly caught upt togethert with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.

18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
