1 Tesalonicenses 4

1 Por lo demás, hermanos, les rogamos, y les exhortamos en el Señor Jesús, que tal como han recibido de nosotros instrucciones acerca de la manera en que deben andar (se deben conducir) y agradar a Dios, como de hecho ya andan, así abunden en ello más y más.2 Pues ustedes saben qué preceptos les dimos por autoridad (por medio) del Señor Jesús.3 Porque ésta es la voluntad de Dios: su santificación; es decir, que se abstengan de inmoralidad sexual;4 que cada uno de ustedes sepa cómo poseer (tener) su propio vaso en santificación y honor,

5 no en pasión degradante, como los Gentiles (paganos) que no conocen a Dios.
6 Que nadie peque ni defraude a su hermano en este asunto, porque el Señor es el vengador en todas estas cosas, como también antes les dijimos y advertimos solemnemente.7 Porque Dios no nos ha llamado a impureza, sino a (vivir en) santificación.

8 Por tanto, el que rechaza esto no rechaza a un hombre, sino al Dios que les da a ustedes Su Espíritu Santo.
9 Pero en cuanto al amor fraternal, no tienen necesidad de que nadie les escriba, porque ustedes mismos han sido enseñados por Dios a amarse unos a otros.10 Porque en verdad lo practican con todos los hermanos que están en toda Macedonia. Pero les instamos, hermanos, a que abunden en ello más y más,11 y a que tengan por su ambición el llevar una vida tranquila, y se ocupen en sus propios asuntos y trabajen con sus manos, tal como les hemos mandado;

12 a fin de que se conduzcan (vivan) honradamente para con los de afuera, y no tengan necesidad de nada.

La Venida del Señor

13 Pero no queremos, hermanos, que ignoren acerca de los que duermen (que han muerto), para que no se entristezcan como lo hacen los demás que no tienen esperanza.14 Porque si creemos que Jesús murió y resucitó, así también Dios traerá con El a los que durmieron (murieron) en Jesús.

15 Por lo cual les decimos esto por la palabra del Señor: que nosotros los que estemos vivos y que permanezcamos hasta la venida del Señor, no precederemos a los que durmieron (murieron).
16 Pues el Señor mismo descenderá del cielo con voz de mando, con voz de arcángel y con la trompeta de Dios, y los muertos en Cristo se levantarán primero.17 Entonces nosotros, los que estemos vivos y que permanezcamos, seremos arrebatados juntamente con ellos en las nubes al encuentro del Señor en el aire, y así estaremos con el Señor siempre.18 Por tanto, confórtense (aliéntense) unos a otros con estas palabras.

1 Thessalonians 4

1 Finally then, brethren, we beseech and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that, as ye received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, even as ye do walk, --that ye abound more and more.2 For ye know what charge we gave you through the Lord Jesus.3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye abstain from fornication;4 that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor,5 not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who know not God;6 that no man transgress, and wrong his brother in the matter: because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as also we forewarned you and testified.7 For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification.8 Therefore he that rejecteth, rejecteth not man, but God, who giveth his Holy Spirit unto you.9 But concerning love of the brethren ye have no need that one write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another;10 for indeed ye do it toward all the brethren that are in all Macedonia. But we exhort you, brethren, that ye abound more and more;11 and that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your hands, even as we charged you;12 that ye may walk becomingly toward them that are without, and may have need of nothing.13 But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning them that fall asleep; that ye sorrow not, even as the rest, who have no hope.14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also that are fallen asleep in Jesus will God bring with him.15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive, that are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall in no wise precede them that are fallen asleep.16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;17 then we that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be caught up in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
