1 Timotei 1

1 Pavel, apostol al lui Cristos Isus, prin porunca lui Dumnezeu, Mântuitorul nostru, și a lui Cristos Isus, nădejdea noastră,2 către Timotei, adevăratul meu copil în credință: har, îndurare și pace de la Dumnezeu Tatăl și de la Cristos Isus, Domnul nostru!

Atenționări împotriva învățătorilor falși ai Legii

3 Când m-am dus în Macedonia, te-am îndemnat să rămâi în Efes ca să le poruncești unora să nu dea altă învățătură4 și să nu se țină de mituri și de nesfârșite genealogii, care încurajează mai degrabă la speculații, decât la lucrarea lui Dumnezeu prin credință.5 Scopul unei astfel de porunci este dragostea, care vine dintr-o inimă curată, dintr-o conștiință bună și dintr-o credință fără ipocrizie.6 Unii s-au rătăcit de aceste lucruri și s-au întors la flecăreli.7 Ei vor să fie învățători ai Legii, fără însă să înțeleagă nici ceea ce spun, nici lucrurile asupra cărora insistă.

8 Știm că Legea este bună, dacă cineva o folosește corect.9 Știm, de asemenea, că Legeat nu este făcută pentru cel drept, ci pentru cei fără de Lege și pentru cei răzvrătiți, pentru cei neevlavioși și pentru cei păcătoși, pentru cei lipsiți de sfințenie și pentru cei lumești, pentru ucigașii de tată și pentru ucigașii de mamă, pentru ucigașii de oameni,10 pentru cei desfrânați, pentru homosexuali, pentru negustorii de sclavi, pentru mincinoși, pentru sperjuri și pentru orice altceva care este împotriva învățăturii sănătoase,11 potrivit cu Evangheliat slăvită a binecuvântatuluit Dumnezeu, care mi-a fost încredințată mie.

Harul Domnului arătat lui Pavel

12 Îi sunt recunoscător lui Isus Cristos, Domnul nostru, Care m-a întărit, pentru că m-a considerat credincios și m-a pus în slujba Lui,13 măcar că înainte am fost un blasfemiator, un persecutor și un om violent. Dar mi s-a arătat milă, întrucât lucram ca un neștiutor, în necredință.14 Și harul Domnului nostru a fost turnat din abundență peste mine, împreună cu credința și dragostea care sunt în Cristos Isus.15 Acest cuvânt este demn de încredere și pe deplin vrednic să fie primit: Cristos Isus a venit în lume ca să-i mântuiască pe cei păcătoși, dintre care cel dintâi sunt eu.16 De aceea mi s-a arătat milă, pentru ca în mine, cel dintâi, Cristos Isus să-Și poată arăta toată îndelunga Lui răbdare, făcând din mine un exemplu pentru cei ce urmează să creadă în El pentru viața veșnică.17 A Împăratului veșniciilor, a nemuritorului, nevăzutului și singurului Dumnezeu să fie onoarea și slava, în vecii vecilor! Amin.

18 Timotei, copilul meu , îți dau această poruncă potrivit cu profețiile rostite mai înainte cu privire la tine, pentru ca, prin ele, să te lupți lupta cea bună,19 având credință și o conștiință bună, de care unii n-au mai ținut seama și au eșuat în ce privește credința.20 Printre ei sunt Imeneu și Alexandru, pe care i-am dat pe mâna lui Satant, ca să învețe să nu mai blasfemieze.

God our Savior and Christ Jesus commanded me to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, who gives us hope.

2  t Timothy, because of our faith, you are like a son to me. I pray that God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ will be kind and merciful to you. May they bless you with peace!

Warning against False //Teaching

4 You needed to warn them to stop wasting their time on senseless stories and endless lists of ancestors. Such things only cause arguments. They don't help anyone to do God's work that can only be done by faith.
5 You must teach people to have genuine love, as well as a good conscience and true faith. 6 There are some who have given up these for nothing but empty talk.

7 They want to be teachers of the Law of Moses. But they don't know what they are talking about, even though they think they do.
8 We know the Law is good, if it is used in the right way. 9 We also understand it wasn't given to control people who please God, but to control lawbreakers, criminals, godless people, and sinners. It is for wicked and evil people, and for murderers, who would even kill their own parents. 10 The Law was written for people who are sexual perverts or who live as homosexuals or are kidnappers or liars or won't tell the truth in court. It is for anything else that opposes the correct teaching

11 of the good news the glorious and wonderful God has given me.

Being Thankful for //God's Kindness

14 Christ Jesus our Lord treated me with undeserved grace and has greatly blessed my life with faith and love just like his own.
15 “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” This saying is true, and it can be trusted. I was the worst sinner of all! 16 But since I was worse than anyone else, God had mercy on me and let me be an example of the endless patience of Christ Jesus. He did this so that others would put their faith in Christ and have eternal life.

17 I pray that honor and glory will always be given to the only God, who lives forever and is the invisible and eternal King! Amen.
18 Timothy, my son, the instructions I am giving you are based on what some prophetst once said about you. If you follow these instructions, you will fight like a good soldier. 19 You will be faithful and have a clear conscience. Some people have made a mess of their faith because they didn't listen to their consciences. 20 Two of them are Hymenaeus and Alexander. I have given these men over to the power of Satan, so they will learn not to oppose God.
