II.— INSTRUCCIONES PERSONALES A TIMOTEO (4,1—6,21)
Falsos maestros y falsas enseñanzas
1 El Espíritu proclama que, en los últimos tiempos, algunos desertarán de la ley y prestarán oídos a falsos maestrost y a enseñanzas demoniacas.t 2 Se trata de embaucadores hipócritas que tienen la conciencia empedernidat 3 y que prohíben tanto el matrimonio como el uso de ciertos alimentos, siendo así que Dios ha creado estas cosas para que los fieles, que conocen la verdad, disfruten de ellas dándole gracias.t 4 Pues todo cuanto Dios ha creado es bueno, y nada hay que sea pernicioso si se come dando gracias.t
5 Todo lo santifica la palabra de Dios y la oración.El buen servidor de Jesucristo
6 Si enseñas estas cosas a los hermanos, serás un buen servidort de Cristo Jesús y estarás alimentado con el mensaje de la fe y de la hermosa enseñanza que tan fielmente has seguido. 7 Desecha los mitos profanos que sólo son cuentos de viejas. Ejercítate en una vida auténticamente piadosat,t 8 teniendo en cuenta que el ejercicio corporal no sirve para mucho y, en cambio, una vida auténticamente religiosa es útil para todo; además, cuenta con la promesa de la vida, tanto presente como futura. 9 Es esta una palabra digna de créditot y que debe aceptarse sin reservas.t
10 En efecto, si nos fatigamos y luchamos*, es porque hemos puesto la esperanza en Dios viviente que es salvadort de todos, especialmente de los creyentes.
11 Enseña y recomienda estas cosas. 12 Que nadie te menosprecie por ser joven. Al contrario, que tu palabra, tu conducta, tu amor, tu fe y tu limpio proceder te conviertan en modelo para los creyentes.t 13 Mientras esperas que yo llegue, dedícate a la lectura [de las Escrituras]t, a la exhortación y a la enseñanza. 14 No hagas estéril el don que hay en ti y que se te confirió cuando, por indicación profética, los presbíterost te impusieron las manos.t 15 Tómate en serio todo esto y vívelo intensamente a fin de que todos puedan constatar tu aprovechamiento. 16 Cuida de ti y de la enseñanza; sé constante en lo que hagas, pues de esa manera te salvarás tú y salvarás a quienes te escuchen.

Timothy’s Ministry in the Later Times
1 Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the later times some will desert the faith and occupy themselvest with deceiving spirits and demonic teachings,t2 influenced by the hypocrisy of liarst whose consciences are seared.ts3 They will prohibit marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.4 For every creation of God is good and no foodt is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.
5 For it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer.
6 By pointing out such things to the brothers and sisters,t you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, having nourished yourself on the words of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.s7 But reject those mythss fit only for the godless and gullible,t and train yourself for godliness.8 For “physical exerciset has some value, but godliness is valuable in every way. It holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.”9 This sayingts is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance.
10 In fact this is whyt we work hard and struggle,s because we have set our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all people,t especially of believers.
11 Command and teach these things.12 Let no one look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in your speech, conduct, love, faithfulness,t and purity.13 Until I come, give attention to the public reading of scripture,ts to exhortation, to teaching.14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift you have,t given to you and confirmed by prophetic wordsts when the elders laid hands on you.t15 Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that everyone will see your progress.t
16 Be conscientious about how you live and what you teach.t Persevere in this, because by doing so you will save both yourself and those who listen to you.
