Advertencias contra los falsos maestros
1 Ahora bien, el Espíritu Santo nos dice claramente que en los últimos tiempos algunos se apartarán de la fe verdadera; seguirán espíritus engañosos y enseñanzas que provienen de demonios. 2 Estas personas son hipócritas y mentirosas, y tienen muertat la conciencia.
3 Dirán que está mal casarse y que está mal comer determinados alimentos; pero Dios creó esos alimentos para que los coman con gratitud las personas fieles que conocen la verdad. 4 Ya que todo lo que Dios creó es bueno, no deberíamos rechazar nada, sino recibirlo con gratitud. 5 Pues sabemos que se hace aceptablet por la palabra de Dios y la oración.
Un buen siervo de Cristo Jesús
6 Timoteo, si les explicas estas cosas a los hermanos, serás un digno siervo de Cristo Jesús, bien alimentado con el mensaje de fe y la buena enseñanza que has seguido. 7 No pierdas el tiempo discutiendo sobre ideas mundanas y cuentos de viejas. En lugar de eso, entrénate para la sumisión a Dios. 8 «El entrenamiento físico es bueno, pero entrenarse en la sumisión a Dios es mucho mejor, porque promete beneficios en esta vida y en la vida que viene». 9 Esta declaración es digna de confianza, y todos deberían aceptarla. 10 Es por eso que trabajamos con esmero y seguimos luchando,t porque nuestra esperanza está puesta en el Dios viviente, quien es el Salvador de toda la humanidad y, en especial, de todos los creyentes.
11 Enseña esas cosas e insiste en que todos las aprendan. 12 No permitas que nadie te subestime por ser joven. Sé un ejemplo para todos los creyentes en lo que dices, en la forma en que vives, en tu amor, tu fe y tu pureza. 13 Hasta que yo llegue, dedícate a leer las Escrituras a la iglesia, y a animar y a enseñarles a los creyentes.
14 No descuides el don espiritual que recibiste mediante la profecía que se pronunció acerca de ti cuando los ancianos de la iglesia te impusieron las manos. 15 Presta suma atención a estos asuntos. Entrégate de lleno a tus tareas, para que todos vean cuánto has progresado. 16 Ten mucho cuidado de cómo vives y de lo que enseñas. Mantente firme en lo que es correcto por el bien de tu propia salvación y la de quienes te oyen.

People Will Turn from //Their Faith
1 God's Spirit clearly says that in the last days many people will turn from their faith. They will be fooled by evil spirits and by teachings that come from demons. 2 They will also be fooled by the false claims of liars whose consciences have lost all feeling. These liars 3 will forbid people to marry or to eat certain foods. But God created these foods to be eaten with thankful hearts by his followers who know the truth. 4 Everything God created is good. And if you give thanks, you may eat anything.
5 What God has said and your prayer will make it fit to eat.Paul's Advice to Timothy
6 If you teach these things to other followers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus. You will show you have grown up on the teachings about our faith and on the good instructions you have obeyed. 7 Don't have anything to do with worthless, senseless stories. Work hard to be truly religious.
8-9 As the saying goes,
“Exercise is good
for your body,
but religion helps you
in every way.
It promises life
now and forever.”
These words are worthwhile and should not be forgotten.
10 We have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of everyone, but especially of those who have faith. This is why we work and struggle so hard.t
11 Teach these things and tell everyone to do what you say.
12 Don't let anyone make fun of you, just because you are young. Set an example for other followers by what you say and do, as well as by your love, faith, and purity.
13 Until I arrive, be sure to keep on reading the Scriptures in worship, and don't stop preaching and teaching. 14 Use the gift you were given when the prophets spoke and the group of church leaderst blessed you by placing their hands on you. 15 Remember these things and think about them, so everyone can see how well you are doing. 16 Be careful about the way you live and about what you teach. Keep on doing this, and you will save not only yourself, but the people who hear you.
