1 Sa-lô-môn, con trai Đa-vít, được vững bền trong nước mình; Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời người ở cùng người, và làm cho người rất thạnh vượng.2 Sa-lô-môn truyền bảo cả Y-sơ-ra-ên, các quan tướng ngàn người và trăm người, các quan xét và hết thảy các trưởng trong Y-sơ-ra-ên, là các trưởng tộc, phải đến;3 đoạn, Sa-lô-môn và cả hội chúng đều đi lên nơi cao tại Ga-ba-ôn; vì ở đó có hội mạc của Đức Chúa Trời, mà Môi-se, tôi tớ của Đức Giê-hô-va, đã làm nơi đồng vắng4 (nhưng Đa-vít đã rước hòm Đức Chúa Trời từ Ki-ri-át-Giê-a-rim lên đến nơi người đã dọn sẵn cho hòm; vì người đã dựng cho hòm ấy một cái trại tại Giê-ru-sa-lem).5 Vả, ở trước đền tạm của Đức Giê-hô-va có bàn thờ đồng mà Bết-sa-lê-ên, con trai U-ri, cháu Hu-rơ, đã làm; Sa-lô-môn và hội chúng đều đến nơi đó.6 Sa-lô-môn bền lên đến bàn thờ bằng đồng đặt ở trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va tại hội mạc, và dâng một ngàn của lễ thiêu trên bàn thờ ấy.7 Chính đêm ấy, Đức Chúa Trời hiện đến cùng Sa-lô-môn, mà phán rằng: Ngươi muốn ta ban cho điều gì, hãy xin đi.8 Sa-lô-môn thưa cùng Đức Chúa Trời rằng: Chúa đã ban ơn rộng cho Đa-vít, cha tôi, và đã đặt tôi làm vua thế cho người.9 Lạy Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời, bây giờ nguyện cho lời Chúa hứa cùng Đa-vít, cha tôi, được ứng nghiệm; vì Chúa đã lập tôi lên làm vua dân sự này đông như bụi đất.10 Vậy, xin Chúa ban cho tôi sự khôn ngoan và tri thức, để tôi ra vào trước mặt dân sự này; vì ai dễ xét đoán được dân của Chúa rất đông dường kia?11 Đức Chúa Trời phán với Sa-lô-môn rằng: Ta đã lập ngươi làm vua dân sự ta; vả, vì ngươi có lòng như vậy, không có cầu xin sự giàu có, của cải, tôn vinh, hay là mạng sống của những kẻ ghen ghét ngươi, và cũng chẳng có xin sự sống lâu, nhưng lại cầu xin sự khôn ngoan và tri thức cho mình, để xét đoán dân sự ta,12 nên ta đã ban sự khôn ngoan và tri thức cho ngươi; ta lại sẽ ban cho ngươi sự giàu có, của cải, tôn vinh, đến đỗi các vua trước ngươi không hề có như vậy, và sau ngươi cũng sẽ chẳng có vua nào được như thế.13 Đoạn, Sa-lô-môn từ nơi cao tại Ga-ba-ôn, ở trước hội mạc, trở về Giê-ru-sa-lem; và người cai trị Y-sơ-ra-ên.14 Sa-lô-môn nhóm những xe và lính kỵ, được một ngàn bốn trăm cỗ xe, và mười hai ngàn lính kỵ; người để nó trong thành chứa xe, và gần nơi vua tại Giê-ru-sa-lem.15 Vua làm cho bạc vàng trong Giê-ru-sa-lem ra thường như đá sỏi, và cây bá hương nhiều như cây sung nơi đồng bằng.16 Còn ngựa của Sa-lô-môn đều từ Ê-díp-tô mà ra; các con buôn của vua đi lãnh mua nó từng bầy, mỗi bầy theo giá nhất định.17 Người ta từ xứ Ê-díp-tô mua đem lên một cái xe giá sáu trăm siếc-lơ bạc, còn một con ngựa giá một trăm năm mươi siếc-lơ; các vua dân Hê-tít và vua Sy-ri cũng theo giá ấy nhờ những con buôn của vua mà mua về.

2 Chronicles 1

The Lord Gives Solomon Wisdom

1 Solomon son of David solidified his royal authority,t fort the Lord his God was with him and magnified him greatly.
2 Solomon addressed all Israel, including those who commanded units of a thousand and a hundred, the judges, and all the leaders of all Israel who were heads of families.3 Solomon and the entire assembly went to the worship centert in Gibeon, for the tent where they met Godt was located there, which Moses the Lord’s servant had made in the wilderness.4 (Now David had brought up the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim to the place he had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.s5 But the bronze altar made by Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, was in front of the Lord’s tabernacle.s Solomon and the entire assembly prayed to himt there.)

6 Solomon went up to the bronze altar before the Lord which was at the meeting tent, and he offered up a thousand burnt sacrifices.
7 That night God appearedt to Solomon and said to him, “Tell met what I should give you.”8 Solomon replied to God, “You demonstratedt great loyalty to my father David and have made me king in his place.9 Now, Lord God, may your promiset to my father David be realized,t for you have made me king over a great nation as numerous as the dust of the earth.

10 Now give me wisdom and discernment sot I can effectively lead this nation.t Otherwiset no one is ablet to make judicial decisions fort this great nation of yours.”t
11 God said to Solomon, “Because you desire this,t and did not ask for riches, wealth, and honor, or for vengeance on your enemies,t and because you did not ask for long life,t but requested wisdom and discernment so you can make judicial decisions for my people over whom I have made you king,

12 you are granted wisdom and discernment.t Furthermore I am giving you riches, wealth, and honor surpassing that of any king before or after you.”t

13 Solomon left the meeting tent at the worship center in Gibeon and went to Jerusalem, where he reigned over Israel.t

Solomon’s Wealth

14 Solomon accumulatedt chariots and horses. He had 1,400 chariots and 12,000 horses. He kept them in assigned cities and in Jerusalem.ts15 The king made silver and gold as plentifult in Jerusalem as stones; cedar wast as plentiful as sycamore fig trees are in the lowlands.t16 Solomon acquired his horses from Egypts and from Que; the king’s traders purchased them from Que.

17 They paid 600 silver pieces for each chariot from Egypt, and 150 silver pieces for each horse. They also sold chariots and horses to all the kings of the Hittites and to the kings of Syria.t
