2. Korinther 1

Anschrift und Gruß

1 tPaulus, ein Apostel Jesu Christi, von Gott berufen, und sein Mitarbeiter Timotheus schreiben diesen Brief an die Gemeinde Gottes in Korinth und an alle in der Provinz Achaja, die zu Gott gehören.

2 Ich wünsche euch Gnade und Frieden von Gott, unserem Vater, und unserem Herrn Jesus Christus.

Dank für Gottes Hilfe

3 tGepriesen sei Gott, der Vater unseres Herrn Jesus Christus, der Vater voller Barmherzigkeit, der Gott, der uns in jeder Not tröstet!4 tIn allen Schwierigkeiten ermutigt er uns und steht uns bei, so dass wir auch andere trösten können, die wegen ihres Glaubens leiden müssen. Wir trösten sie, wie Gott auch uns getröstet hat.5 tWeil wir Christus gehören und ihm dienen, müssen wir viel leiden, aber in ebenso reichem Maße erfahren wir auch seine Hilfe.6 tDeshalb kommt es euch zugute, wenn wir leiden; und wenn wir ermutigt werden, dann geschieht auch das zu eurem Besten. Das gibt euch Kraft, die gleichen Leiden wie wir geduldig zu ertragen.

7 Darum sind wir zuversichtlich und haben keine Angst um euch. Denn ihr werdet zwar leiden müssen wie wir, aber ihr werdet auch von Gott getröstet werden.8 tLiebe Brüder und Schwestern! Ich meine, ihr solltet wissen, dass wir in der Provinz Asia Schweres erdulden mussten. Wir waren mit unseren Kräften am Ende und hatten schon mit dem Leben abgeschlossen.9 Unser Tod schien unausweichlich. Aber Gott wollte, dass wir uns nicht auf uns selbst verlassen, sondern auf ihn, der die Toten zu neuem Leben erweckt.10 tUnd tatsächlich hat Gott uns vor dem Tod gerettet und wird es auch in Zukunft tun. Wir vertrauen fest darauf, dass er uns immer wieder aus Todesgefahr befreit.11 Denn auch ihr betet ja für uns. Und so werden nicht nur wir, sondern viele Gott dafür danken, dass er uns gnädig ist und uns bewahrt hat.

Paulus wehrt sich gegen falsche Anschuldigungen

12 tWenn es etwas gibt, worauf wir stolz sein können, dann ist es unser gutes Gewissen: Wir leben so, wie Gott es will; wir haben euch nichts vorgemacht. Nicht eigensüchtige Überlegungen haben unser Handeln bestimmt, sondern allein Gottes Barmherzigkeit. So haben wir uns überall verhalten, und ganz besonders bei euch.13 Auch unsere Briefe wollen nichts anderes sagen, als was ihr schwarz auf weiß lesen könnt. Ich hoffe, ihr werdet einmal voll und ganz verstehen, was ich meine.14 tWenigstens zum Teil habt ihr schon verstanden, dass ihr auf uns stolz sein könnt, genauso wie wir auf euch, wenn Jesus, unser Herr, kommen wird.

15 tIn dieser Zuversicht wollte ich zuerst zu euch kommen. Gerne hätte ich euch zweimal besucht und euch beide Male Gottes Liebe nahe gebracht -16 sowohl auf dem Weg nach Mazedonien als auch auf der Rückreise von dort. Einige von euch hätten mich dann nach Judäa begleiten können.17 tBin ich denn nun leichtfertig gewesen, als ich diese Reise plante? Entscheide ich etwa so, wie ich selbst es für richtig halte, ohne nach Gottes Willen zu fragen? Oder gehöre ich zu den unzuverlässigen Leuten, die »Ja« sagen, wenn sie »Nein« meinen?

18 Gott ist mein Zeuge, dass wir niemals etwas anderes sagen, als wir wirklich meinen.19 Auch Jesus Christus, der Sohn Gottes, den Silvanus, Timotheus und ich euch verkündet haben, war nicht gleichzeitig »Ja« und »Nein«. Er selbst ist in seiner Person das Ja Gottes zu uns,20 tdenn alle Zusagen Gottes haben sich in ihm erfüllt. Und auf das, was Christus für uns getan hat, antworten wir zur Ehre Gottes mit Amen.

21 Gott selbst hat unser und euer Leben auf ein festes Fundament gestellt, auf Christus, und uns mit seinem Geist erfülltt.22 tSo drückte er uns sein Siegel auf, wir sind sein Eigentum geworden. Das Geschenk des Geistes in unseren Herzen ist Gottes sicheres Pfand dafür, dass er uns noch viel mehr schenken wird.

23 tWarum bin ich dann doch nicht wie geplant nach Korinth gekommen? Nur um euch zu schonen, mit Rücksicht auf euch! Ich rufe Gott als Zeugen an; er soll mich strafen, wenn das nicht die Wahrheit ist.

24 tDenn wir möchten nicht über euch und euren Glauben herrschen, sondern helfen, dass ihr euch freuen könnt. Im Glauben steht ihr ja bereits fest.

2 Corinthians 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints that are in the whole of Achaia:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;4 who comforteth us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort them that are in any affliction, through the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound unto us, even so our comfort also aboundeth through Christ.6 But whether we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or whether we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which worketh in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer:7 and our hope for you is stedfast; knowing that, as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so also are ye of the comfort.8 For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction which befell us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, insomuch that we despaired even of life:9 yea, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead:10 who delivered us out of so great a death, and will deliver: on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;11 ye also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift bestowed upon us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf.12 For our glorifying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.13 For we write no other things unto you, than what ye read or even acknowledge, and I hope ye will acknowledge unto the end:14 as also ye did acknowledge us in part, that we are your glorying, even as ye also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.15 And in this confidence I was minded to come first unto you, that ye might have a second benefit;16 and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come unto you, and of you to be set forward on my journey unto Judaea.17 When I therefore was thus minded, did I show fickleness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the yea yea and the nay nay?18 But as God is faithful, our word toward you is not yea and nay.19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not yea and nay, but in him is yea.20 For how many soever be the promises of God, in him is the yea: wherefore also through him is the Amen, unto the glory of God through us.21 Now he that establisheth us with you in Christ, and anointed us, is God;22 who also sealed us, and gave us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.23 But I call God for a witness upon my soul, that to spare you I forbare to come unto Corinth.24 Not that we have lordship over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for in faith ye stand fast.
