Andra Korinthierbrevet 1
Hälsning
1 Från Paulus, genom Guds vilja Kristi Jesu apostel, och från vår broder Timotheos till Guds församling i Korinth och till alla heliga runt om i Achaia.
2 Nåd och frid från Gud, vår fader, och herren Jesus Kristus.Tröst i lidanden
3 Välsignad är vår herre Jesu Kristi Gud och fader, barmhärtighetens fader och all trösts Gud. 4 Han tröstar oss i alla våra svårigheter, så att vi med den tröst vi själva får av Gud kan trösta var och en som har det svårt. 5 Ty liksom vi har fått en riklig del av Kristi lidanden får vi också riklig tröst genom Kristus. 6 Har vi det svårt är det för er tröst och frälsning. Blir vi tröstade är det för att ni skall få den tröst som hjälper er att bära samma lidanden som vi själva.
7 Vi har ett fast hopp när det gäller er; vi vet att liksom ni delar lidandena med oss, delar ni också trösten.
8 Jag vill att ni skall ha klart för er, bröder, hur svårt vi hade det i Asien. Vi pressades så långt över vår förmåga att vi rent av misströstade om livet. 9 Men en dödsdom har vi alltid haft inom oss, för att vi inte skulle förlita oss på oss själva utan på den Gud som uppväcker de döda. 10 Och han räddade oss från dessa dödens angrepp och kommer att rädda oss igen. Till honom står vårt hopp, han skall rädda oss.
11 Och ni skall hjälpa till med er bön för oss, så att det blir många som tackar Gud för den nåd vi får genom mångas medverkan.Paulus uppskjutna besök
12 Detta är vår stolthet: att vårt samvete kan vittna om att vi inte har styrts av världslig vishet utan av Guds nåd; vi har här i världen och särskilt mot er uppträtt med den heliga renhet som kommer från Gud. 13 I det som vi skriver till er ligger ingenting annat än det ni läser och även kan förstå. Och jag hoppas att ni helt skall förstå
14 det som ni redan delvis har förstått: att ni kan vara stolta över oss på herren Jesu dag, liksom vi över er.
15 I förlitan på detta ville jag fara till er först, för att ni skulle få glädjen av två besök;
16 från er tänkte jag fara vidare till Makedonien och därifrån tillbaka till er för att få hjälp av er med min resa till Judeen.
17 Det var min tanke. Var det ett lättsinnigt infall? Är jag så mänskligt svag i mina beslut att jag säger ja och nej på en gång? 18 Gud kan gå i god för att vad jag säger till er inte är både ja och nej. 19 Guds son, Kristus Jesus, som vi har förkunnat bland er, jag och Silvanus och Timotheos, han var inte både ja och nej, i honom finns bara ett ja. 20 Ty alla Guds löften har fått sitt ja genom honom. Därför säger vi också genom honom vårt Amen, Gud till ära. 21 Det är Gud som befäster både er och mig i tron på Kristus och som har smort oss;
22 han har satt sitt sigill på oss och gett oss Anden som en borgen i våra hjärtan.
23 Jag tar Gud till vittne och sätter mitt liv i pant på att det är för att skona er som jag ännu inte har kommit till Korinth. 24 Det är inte så att vi vill råda över er tro, nej, vi vill hjälpa er till glädje — i tron står ni fasta.
2 CORINTHIANS 1
1 t From Paul, chosen by God to be an apostle of Jesus Christ, and from Timothy, who is also a follower.

2 I pray that God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and will bless you with peace!Paul Gives Thanks
3 Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! The Father is a merciful God, who always gives us comfort. 4 He comforts us when we are in trouble, so that we can share this same comfort with others in trouble. 5 We share in the terrible sufferings of Christ, but also in the wonderful comfort he gives. 6 We suffer in the hope that you will be comforted and saved. And because we are comforted, you will also be comforted, as you patiently endure suffering like ours.
7 You never disappoint us. You suffered as much as we did, and we know that you will be comforted as we were.
8 t My friends, I want you to know what a hard time we had in Asia. Our sufferings were so horrible and so unbearable that death seemed certain. 9 In fact, we felt sure we were going to die. But this made us stop trusting in ourselves and start trusting God, who raises the dead to life. 10 God saved us from the threat of death, t and we are sure that he will do it again and again.
11 Please help us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks for the blessings we receive in answer to all these prayers.Paul's Change of Plans
12 We can be proud of our clear conscience. We have always lived honestly and sincerely, especially when we were with you. And we were guided by God's gift of undeserved grace instead of by the wisdom of this world. 13 I am not writing anything you cannot read and understand. I hope you will understand it completely,
14 just as you already partly understand us. Then when our Lord Jesus returns, you can be as proud of us as we are of you.
15 I was so sure of your pride in us that I had planned to visit you first of all. In this way you would have the blessing of two visits from me— 16 tonce on my way to Macedonia and again on my return from there. Then you could send me on to Judea. 17 Do you think I couldn't make up my mind about what to do? Or do I seem like someone who says “Yes” or “No” simply to please others? 18 God can be trusted, and so can I, when I say our answer to you has always been “Yes” and never “No.”
19 t This is because Jesus Christ the Son of God is always “Yes” and never “No.” And he is the one Silas, t Timothy, and I told you about.
20 Christ says “Yes” to all God's promises. This is why we have Christ to say “Amen”t for us to the glory of God. 21 And so God makes it possible for you and us to stand firmly together with Christ. God is also the one who chose us
22 and put his Spirit in our hearts to show that we belong only to him.
23 God is my witness that I stayed away from Corinth, just to keep from being hard on you. 24 We are not bosses who tell you what to believe. We are working with you to make you glad, because your faith is strong.
