2 ขอพระคุณและสันติสุข ซึ่งมาจากพระเจ้าพระบิดาของเรา และจากพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า จงมีกับท่านทั้งหลายเถิด
เปาโลขอบพระคุณหลังจากได้รับความยากลำบาก
3 สาธุการแด่พระเจ้า พระบิดาของพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา พระบิดาผู้ทรงพระเมตตากรุณา พระเจ้าแห่งการหนุนใจทุกอย่าง 4 พระองค์ผู้ทรงหนุนใจเราในความยากลำบากทั้งหมดของเรา เพื่อเราจะสามารถหนุนใจคนทั้งหลาย ที่มีความยากลำบากอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่งได้ด้วยการหนุนใจ ซึ่งเราเองได้รับจากพระเจ้า 5 เพราะความรักของพระคริสต์มากท่วมท้นเราอย่างไร การหนุนใจของพระคริสต์ก็มากท่วมท้นเราอย่างนั้นt 6 ที่เราทนความยากลำบากนั้น ก็เพื่อให้พวกท่านได้รับการหนุนใจและได้รับความรอด และที่เราได้รับการหนุนใจ ก็เพื่อให้พวกท่านได้รับการหนุนใจด้วย ซึ่งท่านจะได้รับเมื่อtสู้ทนความทุกข์เช่นเดียวกับที่เราทนอยู่นั้น 7 และเราก็มีความหวังแน่นอนในท่านทั้งหลาย เพราะรู้ว่าพวกท่านมีส่วนในความทุกข์ของเราอย่างไร ท่านก็จะมีส่วนในการหนุนใจของเราอย่างนั้น
8 พี่น้องทั้งหลาย เราอยากให้พวกท่านรู้ถึงความยากลำบากที่เกิดกับเราในแคว้นเอเชียt คือเราเผชิญความทุกข์หนักอย่างยิ่งชนิดที่เกินกำลัง จนเราหมดหวังที่จะเอาชีวิตรอดมาได้ 9 ที่จริงเรารู้สึกว่าถูกตัดสินให้ถึงที่ตายแล้ว ทั้งนี้เพื่อเราจะไม่ไว้ใจตัวเอง แต่ไว้ใจพระเจ้าผู้ทรงให้คนทั้งหลายเป็นขึ้นจากตาย 10 พระองค์ทรงช่วยเราให้พ้นจากมรณภัยมาแล้ว และพระองค์จะทรงช่วยเราอีก เราหวังในพระองค์ว่าพระองค์จะทรงช่วยเราต่อไปอีก 11 ในเมื่อพวกท่านก็มีส่วนช่วยโดยการทูลขอเผื่อเรา เพื่อคนจำนวนมากจะขอบพระคุณเพราะเรา เนื่องจากพระคุณที่ประทานแก่เราผ่านคำทูลขอของคนจำนวนมากนั้น

12 นี่เป็นสิ่งที่เราอวด คือมโนธรรมของเราเป็นพยานว่า เราประพฤติตัวในโลกด้วยความบริสุทธิ์ใจ และด้วยความจริงใจที่มาจากพระเจ้า ไม่ใช่ประพฤติโดยปัญญาของมนุษย์แต่โดยพระคุณของพระเจ้า และต่อพวกท่านเราประพฤติยิ่งกว่านั้นเสียอีก 13 เพราะว่าเราไม่ได้เขียนเรื่องอื่นถึงท่าน นอกจากเรื่องที่พวกท่านสามารถอ่านและเข้าใจได้ ข้าพเจ้าหวังว่าพวกท่านจะเข้าใจเราเป็นอย่างดี 14 เหมือนที่ท่านเข้าใจบ้างแล้ว คือในวันของพระเยซูองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเรา พวกท่านจะภูมิใจในเราเช่นเดียวกับที่เราจะภูมิใจในท่าน
15 และด้วยความแน่ใจในเรื่องนี้ ข้าพเจ้าจึงอยากไปเยี่ยมพวกท่านก่อนเพื่อน เพื่อท่านจะได้รับพรสองเท่า 16 ข้าพเจ้าจะแวะเยี่ยมพวกท่านระหว่างที่เดินทางไปยังแคว้นมาซิโดเนียt และเมื่อกลับจากแคว้นมาซิโดเนีย ก็จะแวะเยี่ยมพวกท่านอีก แล้วขอท่านอุปการะข้าพเจ้า ให้เดินทางต่อไปยังแคว้นยูเดีย 17 เมื่อข้าพเจ้าตั้งใจเช่นนี้ ข้าพเจ้าทำด้วยความโลเลหรือ? และข้าพเจ้าวางแผนการตามอย่างมนุษย์ที่จะพูดว่า “ใช่” หรือ “ไม่ใช่” แบบส่งๆ หรือ? 18 พระเจ้าทรงสัตย์จริงอย่างไร คำของเราที่กล่าวกับพวกท่านก็ไม่ใช่เป็นคำรับ หรือปฏิเสธแบบส่งๆ อย่างนั้น 19 เพราะว่าพระบุตรของพระเจ้าคือพระเยซูคริสต์ ผู้ซึ่งข้าพเจ้ากับสิลวานัสและทิโมธีt ประกาศแก่พวกท่านนั้นไม่ใช่ “จริง” หรือ “ไม่จริง” แบบส่งๆ แต่ในพระองค์ทุกอย่างล้วนแต่เป็นจริง 20 เพราะว่าพระสัญญาต่างๆ ของพระเจ้าล้วนแต่เป็นจริงโดยพระเยซู เพราะเหตุนี้เราจึงพูดว่าอาเมนโดยพระองค์ ซึ่งเป็นการถวายพระเกียรติแด่พระเจ้า 21 ผู้ทรงให้เรากับท่านทั้งหลายตั้งมั่นอยู่ในพระคริสต์ และผู้ที่ทรงเจิมเรานั้นคือพระเจ้า 22 และพระองค์ทรงประทับตราเรา และประทานพระวิญญาณไว้ในใจของเราเป็นมัดจำด้วย
23 ขอพระเจ้าเป็นพยานฝ่ายจิตใจของข้าพเจ้าว่า ที่ข้าพเจ้ายังไม่ไปเมืองโครินธ์นั้น ก็เพื่อจะงดโทษพวกท่านไว้ก่อน 24 เราไม่ได้เป็นนายบังคับความเชื่อของท่าน แต่เป็นผู้ร่วมงานกับพวกท่าน เพื่อให้ท่านได้รับความชื่นชมยินดี เพราะว่าพวกท่านตั้งมั่นอยู่ในความเชื่อแล้ว
2 Corinthians 1
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints that are in the whole of Achaia:2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;4 who comforteth us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort them that are in any affliction, through the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound unto us, even so our comfort also aboundeth through Christ.6 But whether we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or whether we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which worketh in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer:7 and our hope for you is stedfast; knowing that, as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so also are ye of the comfort.8 For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction which befell us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, insomuch that we despaired even of life:9 yea, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead:10 who delivered us out of so great a death, and will deliver: on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;11 ye also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift bestowed upon us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf.12 For our glorifying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.13 For we write no other things unto you, than what ye read or even acknowledge, and I hope ye will acknowledge unto the end:14 as also ye did acknowledge us in part, that we are your glorying, even as ye also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.15 And in this confidence I was minded to come first unto you, that ye might have a second benefit;16 and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come unto you, and of you to be set forward on my journey unto Judaea.17 When I therefore was thus minded, did I show fickleness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the yea yea and the nay nay?18 But as God is faithful, our word toward you is not yea and nay.19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not yea and nay, but in him is yea.20 For how many soever be the promises of God, in him is the yea: wherefore also through him is the Amen, unto the glory of God through us.21 Now he that establisheth us with you in Christ, and anointed us, is God;22 who also sealed us, and gave us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.23 But I call God for a witness upon my soul, that to spare you I forbare to come unto Corinth.24 Not that we have lordship over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for in faith ye stand fast.
