2 Corintios 1

Segunda carta a los

1 Cordial saludo a la iglesiat de Dios que está en Corinto y a todo el pueblo santot de la provincia de Acayat, de parte de Pablo, apóstol de Jesucristo por voluntad de Dios, y de Timoteo, nuestro hermano.

2 Que la paz y las bendiciones de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo estén con ustedes.

Pablo agradece a Dios

3 Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, Padre misericordioso y Dios que siempre nos da consuelo.4 Dios nos consuela en todos nuestros sufrimientos para que también, nosotros podamos consolar a quienes sufren, dándoles el mismo consuelo que recibimos de él.5 Así como compartimos los enormes sufrimientos de Cristo, podemos compartir con otros el consuelo que él nos da.6 Si sufrimos, es para el consuelo y la salvación de todos ustedes. Igualmente, si tenemos consuelo es para consolarlos y darles fortaleza para enfrentar con paciencia los mismos sufrimientos que tenemos nosotros.

7 Confiamos totalmente en ustedes porque sabemos que así como comparten nuestro sufrimiento, también comparten nuestro consuelo.
8 Hermanos, queremos que sepan acerca de los problemas que afrontamos en Asiat. Tuvimos que soportar una carga demasiado pesada para nosotros y estábamos tan desesperados que incluso perdimos la esperanza de seguir viviendo.9 En el fondo de nuestro corazón sentíamos que se nos había dado sentencia de muerte; sin embargo, esto sucedió para que aprendiéramos a dejar de confiar en nosotros mismos y confiáramos en Dios, quien es capaz de resucitar a los muertos.10 Él nos rescató del gran peligro de la muerte y nos seguirá rescatando. Pusimos nuestra esperanza en Dios y él nos rescatará de nuevo

11 si ustedes nos ayudan con sus oraciones. Si muchos oran por nosotros, también habrá muchos que den gracias a Dios por el beneficio que recibimos de él.

Cambio en los planes de Pablo

12 Estamos orgullosos de esto y lo podemos decir con la conciencia limpia que nos hemos comportado con todo el mundo, y especialmente con ustedes, con toda la sinceridad que viene de Dios. No nos guiamos por la sabiduría humana, sino por el generoso amort de Dios.13 No hay nada escrito entre líneas en nuestras cartas. Lo que quiero decir no está oculto. Así que espero que lleguen a comprendernos del todo,

14 como hasta cierto punto nos han entendido. Así estarán orgullosos de nosotros, al igual que nosotros lo estaremos de ustedes el día en que regrese nuestro Señor Jesús.
15 Como estaba confiado en esto, decidí venir a visitarlos primero para que pudieran recibir la bendición de dos visitas mías.16 Mi plan era pasar a visitarlos cuando fuera camino a Macedoniat y visitarlos de nuevo en mi viaje de regreso. Pensaba que ustedes podrían ayudarme con mi viaje a Judea.

17 Espero que no piensen que hice estos planes a la ligera, o que me gusta ser como la gente de este mundo que en un momento dice «sí» y al instante dice «no».
18 Así como Dios es digno de confianza, pueden también confiar en que lo que les decimos nosotros nunca es «sí» y «no» al mismo tiempo.19 Jesucristo, el Hijo de Dios, de quien les hemos hablado Silas, Timoteo y yo, no era «sí» y «no» a la vez. Por el contrario, Cristo siempre ha sido el «sí».20 No importa cuántas promesas haya hecho Dios, Cristo siempre ha sido el «sí» de todas ellas. Por eso, por medio de Jesucristo, cuando alabamos a Dios decimos: «Así sea».t21 Dios nos da la garantía de que ustedes y nosotros pertenecemos a Jesucristo y nos ha consagrado.t

22 Nos ha puesto una marca que muestra que le pertenecemos: el Espíritu en nuestros corazones como un adelanto que garantiza que nos dará todo lo que nos ha prometido.
23 Pongo a Dios por testigo de lo que digo: les doy mi palabra que la razón por la cual no he vuelto a Corinto es porque no he querido castigarlos ni causarles dolor.

24 Esto no quiere decir que tratemos de controlar su fe, porque estamos seguros de que su fe es muy fuerte. Lo que queremos es trabajar junto con ustedes para que sean felices.

2 Corinthians 1

Introduction

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
To the church of God which is at Corinth with all the saints who are throughout Achaia:

2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,4 who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.5 For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.6 But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is effective in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer;7 and our hope for you is firmly grounded, knowing that as you are sharers of our sufferings, so also you are sharers of our comfort.

8 For we do not want you to be unaware, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life;9 indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;10 who delivered us from so great a peril of death, and will deliver us, He on whom we have set our hope. And He will yet deliver us,11 you also joining in helping us through your prayers, so that thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the favor bestowed on us through the prayers of many.

Paul's Integrity

12 For our proud confidence is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you.13 For we write nothing else to you than what you read and understand, and I hope you will understand until the end;14 just as you also partially did understand us, that we are your reason to be proud as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

15 In this confidence I intended at first to come to you, so that you might twice receive a blessing;16 that is, to pass your way into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and by you to be helped on my journey to Judea.17 Therefore, I was not vacillating when I intended to do this, was I? Or what I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, so that with me there will be yes, yes and no, no at the same time? 18 But as God is faithful, our word to you is not yes and no.19 For the Son of God, Christ Jesus, who was preached among you by us-by me and Silvanus and Timothy-was not yes and no, but is yes in Him.20 For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,22 who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.

23 But I call God as witness to my soul, that to spare you I did not come again to Corinth.24 Not that we lord it over your faith, but are workers with you for your joy; for in your faith you are standing firm.
