2 Corintios 10
1 Y yo mismo, Pablo, os ruego por la mansedumbre y la benignidad de Cristo, yo, que soy humilde cuando estoy delante de vosotros, pero osado para con vosotros cuando estoy ausente,2 ruego, pues, que cuando esté presente, no tenga que ser osado con la confianza con que me propongo proceder resueltamente contra algunos que nos consideran como si anduviéramos según la carne.3 Pues aunque andamos en la carne, no luchamos según la carne;4 porque las armas de nuestra contienda no son carnales, sino poderosas en Dios para la destrucción de fortalezas;5 destruyendo especulaciones y todo razonamiento altivo que se levanta contra el conocimiento de Dios, y poniendo todo pensamiento en cautiverio a la obediencia de Cristo,6 y estando preparados para castigar toda desobediencia cuando vuestra obediencia sea completa.7 Vosotros veis las cosas según la apariencia exterior. Si alguno tiene confianza en sí mismo de que es de Cristo, considere esto dentro de sí otra vez: que así como él es de Cristo, también lo somos nosotros.8 Pues aunque yo me gloríe más todavía respecto de nuestra autoridad, que el Señor nos dio para edificación y no para vuestra destrucción, no me avergonzaré,9 para que no parezca como que deseo asustaros con mis cartas.10 Porque ellos dicen: Las cartas son severas y duras, pero la presencia física es poco impresionante, y la manera de hablar menospreciable.11 Esto tenga en cuenta tal persona: que lo que somos en palabra por carta, estando ausentes, lo somos también en hechos, estando presentes.12 Porque no nos atrevemos a contarnos ni a compararnos con algunos que se alaban a sí mismos; pero ellos, midiéndose a sí mismos y comparándose consigo mismos, carecen de entendimiento.13 Mas nosotros no nos gloriaremos desmedidamente, sino dentro de la medida de la esfera que Dios nos señaló como límite para llegar también hasta vosotros.14 Pues no nos excedemos a nosotros mismos, como si no os hubiéramos alcanzado, ya que nosotros fuimos los primeros en llegar hasta vosotros con el evangelio de Cristo;15 no gloriándonos desmedidamente, esto es, en los trabajos de otros, sino teniendo la esperanza de que conforme vuestra fe crezca, nosotros seremos, dentro de nuestra esfera, engrandecidos aún más por vosotros,16 para anunciar el evangelio aun a las regiones que están más allá de vosotros, y para no gloriarnos en lo que ya se ha hecho en la esfera de otro.17 Pero el que se gloria, que se glorie en el Señor.18 Porque no es aprobado el que se alaba a sí mismo, sino aquel a quien el Señor alaba.
2 Corinthians 10
1 Now I Paul myself entreat you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I who in your presence am lowly among you, but being absent am of good courage toward you:2 yea, I beseech you, that I may not when present show courage with the confidence wherewith I count to be bold against some, who count of us as if we walked according to the flesh.3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh4 (for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds),5 casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;6 and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience shall be made full.7 Ye look at the things that are before your face. If any man trusteth in himself that he is Christ’s, let him consider this again with himself, that, even as he is Christ’s, so also are we.8 For though I should glory somewhat abundantly concerning our authority (which the Lord gave for building you up, and not for casting you down), I shall not be put to shame:9 that I may not seem as if I would terrify you by my letters.10 For, His letters, they say, are weighty and strong; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.11 Let such a one reckon this, that, what we are in word by letters when we are absent, such are we also in deed when we are present.12 For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with certain of them that commend themselves: but they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.13 But we will not glory beyond our measure, but according to the measure of the province which God apportioned to us as a measure, to reach even unto you.14 For we stretch not ourselves overmuch, as though we reached not unto you: for we came even as far as unto you in the gospel of Christ:15 not glorying beyond our measure, that is, in other men’s labors; but having hope that, as your faith groweth, we shall be magnified in you according to our province unto further abundance,16 so as to preach the gospel even unto the parts beyond you, and not to glory in another’s province in regard of things ready to our hand.17 But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.18 For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.
