Una nueva forma de relacionarnos con Dios

1 No decimos todo esto para hablar bien de nosotros mismos. Tampoco necesitamos presentarles cartas que hablen bien de nosotros, ni les pedimos que ustedes las escriban para que se las presentemos a otros. Algunos sí las necesitan, pero nosotros no.

2-3 Todos pueden ver claramente el bien que Cristo ha hecho en la vida de ustedes. Para que la gente hable bien de nosotros, sólo tiene que fijarse en ustedes. Porque ustedes son como una carta que habla en favor nuestro. Cristo mismo la escribió en nuestro corazón, para que nosotros la presentemos. No la escribió en piedra, ni con tinta, sino que la escribió con el Espíritu del Dios vivo. Y esa carta está a la vista de todos los que la quieran leer.
4 Por medio de Cristo, Dios nos asegura que todo eso es cierto.5 Pero nosotros no somos capaces de hacer algo por nosotros mismos; es Dios quien nos da la capacidad de hacerlo.

6 Ahora Dios nos ha preparado para que anunciemos a todos nuestro nuevo compromiso con él. Este nuevo compromiso no se apoya en la ley, sino en el Espíritu de Dios. Porque la ley condena a muerte al pecador , pero el Espíritu de Dios da vida.

7-9 Dios escribió la ley en tablas de piedra, y se la entregó a Moisés. Aquel momento fue tan grandioso, que la cara de Moisés resplandecía. Y el resplandor era tan fuerte que los israelitas no podían mirar a Moisés cara a cara. Sin embargo, ese brillo pronto iba a desaparecer.
Si la entrega de esa ley fue tan grandiosa, el anuncio de la salvación será más grandioso todavía. Porque esa ley dice que merecemos morir por nuestros pecados. Pero gracias a lo que el Espíritu Santo hizo en nosotros, Dios nos declara inocentes.10 ¡Y eso es mucho más grandioso que lo que hace la ley!

11 Y si fue gloriosa la ley que iba a desaparecer, mucho más gloriosa es la buena noticia que anuncia la salvación eterna.
12 Tan seguros estamos de todo esto, que no nos da miedo hablar.13 No hacemos como Moisés, que se tapaba la cara con un velo para que los israelitas no vieran que el brillo de su cara se iba apagando.

14-15 Ellos nunca entendieron esto. Por eso hasta el día de hoy, cuando leen los libros de Moisés, no lo entienden. Es como si su entendimiento estuviera cubierto con un velo. Sólo Cristo puede ayudarlos a entender.
16 Sin embargo, esto llega a comprenderlo el que se arrepiente y pide perdón al Señor. ¡Es como si le quitaran el velo a su entendimiento!

17-18 Porque el Señor y el Espíritu son uno mismo, y donde está el Espíritu del Señor hay libertad. Y nosotros no tenemos ningún velo que nos cubra la cara. Somos como un espejo que refleja la grandeza del Señor, quien cambia nuestra vida. Gracias a la acción de su Espíritu en nosotros, cada vez nos parecemos más a él.

God's New Agreement

1 Are we once again bragging about ourselves? Do we need letters to you or from you to tell others about us? Some people do need letters telling about them. 2 But you are our letter, and you are in ourt hearts for everyone to read and understand.

3 t You are like a letter written by Christ and delivered by us. But you are not written with pen and ink or on tablets made of stone. You are written in our hearts by the Spirit of the living God.
4 We are sure about all this. Christ makes us sure in the very presence of God. 5 We don't have the right to claim that we have done anything on our own. God gives us what it takes to do all we do.

6 t He makes us worthy to be the servants of his new agreement that comes from the Holy Spirit and not from a written Law. After all, the Law brings death, but the Spirit brings life.
7  t The Law of Moses brought only the promise of death, even though it was carved on stones and given in a wonderful way. Still the Law made Moses' face shine so brightly the people of Israel could not look at it, even though it was a fading glory. 8 So won't the agreement the Spirit brings to us be even more wonderful? 9 If something that brings the death sentence is glorious, won't something that makes us acceptable to God be even more glorious? 10 In fact, the new agreement is so wonderful that the Law is no longer glorious at all.

11 The Law was given with a glory that faded away. But the glory of the new agreement is much greater, because it will never fade away.
12 This wonderful hope makes us feel like speaking freely. 13 t We are not like Moses. His face was shining, but he covered it to keep the people of Israel from seeing the brightness fade away.

14 The people were stubborn, and something still keeps them from seeing the truth when the Law is read. Only Christ can take away the covering that keeps them from seeing.
15 When the Law of Moses is read, they have their minds covered over 16 t with a covering that is removed only for those who turn to the Lord. 17 The Lord and the Spirit are one and the same, and the Lord's Spirit sets us free. 18 t So our faces are not covered. They show the bright glory of the Lord, as the Lord's Spirit makes us more and more like our glorious Lord.
