Hoffnung auf eine neue Heimat

1 tDas wissen wir: Wenn unser Leib einmal zerfällt wie ein Zelt, das abgebrochen wird, erhalten wir einen neuen Leib, eine Behausung, die nicht von Menschen errichtet ist. Gott hält sie im Himmel für uns bereit, und sie wird ewig bleiben.2 Voll Verlangen sehnen wir uns danach, den neuen Leib anzuziehen wie ein Kleid,3 damit wir nicht nackt, sondern bekleidet sind, wenn wir unseren irdischen Körper ablegen müssen.4 Solange wir in diesem Körper leben, liegt eine schwere Last auf uns. Wir wünschen uns nicht etwa den Tod herbei, sondern wir möchten den neuen Leib überziehen, damit alles Vergängliche vom Leben überwunden wird.5 tDarauf hat uns Gott vorbereitet, indem er uns als sicheres Pfand dafür schon jetzt seinen Geist gegeben hat.

6 tDeshalb sind wir jederzeit zuversichtlich, auch wenn wir in unserem irdischen Leib noch nicht bei Gott zu Hause sind.7 tJetzt glauben wir an ihn, auch wenn wir ihn noch nicht sehen können.8 Aber wir rechnen fest damit und würden am liebsten diesen Leib verlassen, um endlich zu Hause beim Herrn zu sein.

9 Ganz gleich, ob wir nun bei ihm sind oder noch auf dieser Erde leben, möchten wir in jedem Fall tun, was Gott gefällt.10 tDenn einmal werden wir uns alle vor Christus als unserem Richter verantworten müssen. Dann wird jeder das bekommen, was er für sein Tun auf dieser Erde verdient hat, mag es gut oder schlecht gewesen sein.

Friede mit Gott

11 tWeil ich weiß, dass ich mich einmal vor Gott verantworten muss, will ich möglichst viele für Christus gewinnen. Gott weiß, dass ich nur dies eine will, und ich hoffe, auch ihr unterstellt mir keine anderen Absichten.

12 tDas sage ich nun wirklich nicht, um mich selbst zu loben. Ich will euch nur ein paar Gründe nennen, warum ihr stolz auf mich sein dürft. Dann könnt ihr sie denen entgegenhalten, für die äußere Vorzüge wichtiger sind als innere Überzeugung.13 tWenn ich, ergriffen vom Geist Gottes,t in Ekstase gerate, dann geschieht dies nur zur Ehre Gottes. Euch gegenüber rede ich dagegen immer mit Vernunft, und das kommt euch zugute.

14 tWas wir auch tun, wir tun es aus der Liebe, die Christus uns geschenkt hat - sie lässt uns keine andere Wahl. Wir sind davon überzeugt: Weil einer für alle Menschen starb, sind sie alle gestorben.15 tUnd Christus ist deshalb für alle gestorben, damit alle, die leben, nicht länger für sich selbst leben, sondern für Christus, der für sie gestorben und auferstanden ist.

16 Wir beurteilen auch niemanden mehr nach rein menschlichen Maßstäben. Selbst wenn wir Christus früher danach beurteilt haben, so gelten diese Maßstäbe jetzt nicht mehr.17 tGehört jemand zu Christus, dann ist er ein neuer Mensch. Was vorher war, ist vergangen, etwas Neues hat begonnen.18 tAll dies verdanken wir Gott, der durch Christus mit uns Frieden geschlossen hat. Er hat uns beauftragt, diese Botschaft überall zu verkünden.19 Denn Gott ist durch Christus selbst in diese Welt gekommen und hat Frieden mit ihr geschlossen, indem er den Menschen ihre Sünden nicht länger anrechnet. Gott hat uns dazu bestimmt, diese Botschaft der Versöhnung in der ganzen Welt zu verbreiten.20 tAls Botschafter Christi fordern wir euch deshalb im Namen Gottes auf: Lasst euch mit Gott versöhnen! Wir bitten euch darum im Auftrag Christi.

21 tDenn Gott hat Christus, der ohne jede Sünde war, mit all unserer Schuld beladen und verurteilt, damit wir freigesprochen sind und Menschen werden, die Gott gefallen.

2 Corinthians 5

1 For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.2 For verily in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven:3 if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.4 For indeed we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life.5 Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave unto us the earnest of the Spirit.6 Being therefore always of good courage, and knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord7 (for we walk by faith, not by sight);8 we are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.9 Wherefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well-pleasing unto him.10 For we must all be made manifest before the judgment-seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he hath done, whether it be good or bad.11 Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest unto God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.12 We are not again commending ourselves unto you, but speak as giving you occasion of glorying on our behalf, that ye may have wherewith to answer them that glory in appearance, and not in heart.13 For whether we are beside ourselves, it is unto God; or whether we are of sober mind, it is unto you.14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died;15 and he died for all, that they that live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto him who for their sakes died and rose again.16 Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.17 Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.18 But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation;19 to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.20 We are ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beseech you on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God.21 Him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
