コリント人への第二の手紙 5

五

1 私たちがいま住んでいる、天幕の家が取りこわされると〔すなわち、私たちが死んでこの肉体を離れると〕、天にある新しい体、永遠に保証された家がいただけるのです。　それは、人の手ではなく、神様の手でつくられた家です。　2 今のこの体には、もう飽き飽きしています。　だからこそ、天上の体をまるで新しい着物のようにまとえる日を、首を長くして待っているのです。　3 それを着れば、体のない霊だけの状態でいることはないからです。　4 この地上の体のために、嘆きやうめきがありますが、だからといって、死んで、体のない状態になりたいとは思いません。　その新しい体にもぐり込みたいと願うばかりです。　そうすれば、この死ぬべき体が、言わば、永遠のいのちに呑み込まれてしまうからです。　5 これこそ、神様が私たちのために用意してくださったことであり、その保証として、聖霊様を遣わしてくださったのです。
6 いま私たちは、確信をもって、天上の体を待ちこがれています。　また、このように地上の体で過ごしている間は、イエス様と共に過ごす、天上の永遠の家から離れていることも、よく知っています。　7 実際に見ることによってではなく、信じることによって、これを事実と認めているのです。　8 ですから、少しも恐れません。　むしろ、死ぬことは願わしいのです。　それは、天の家に主と共に住むことを意味するからです。　9 そういうわけで、地上でこの肉体でいようと、肉体を離れて主と共に天にいようと、私たちの目的は、何をするにも、いつも主に喜ばれることです。　10 なぜなら、やがて私たちはみな、キリスト様の前で、さばきを受けなければならず、全生活がさらけ出されることになるからです。　善であれ悪であれ、地上の体でいる時の行ないに応じて、私たちはそれぞれ、ふさわしい報いを受けるのです。
11 ですから、私たちの心には、いつも主を恐れかしこむ厳粛な思いがあります。　それで、ほかの人々を説得しようと、やっきになっているのです。　それが純粋な気持ちから出ていることを、神様はご存じです。　だから、あなたがたにも、このことをはっきり知っていただきたいと、心から願っているのです。
12 またもや、私たちが自己推薦を始めたと思いますか。　そうではありません。　ただ、あなたがたに手ごろな武器を供給しようとしているのです。　この武器があれば、外見のりっぱさと説教のうまさとを誇りながら、その実、心の中は偽りと不誠実で満ちている説教者に対抗できます。　少なくともあなたがたは、私たちの動機が正しく、しかも誠実である点を誇ることができるのです。　13-14 自分のことをこのように言うとは、気が狂っているのでしょうか。　もし気が狂っているとすれば、それは神様の栄光のためです。　もし正気であるなら、あなたがたのためです。　確かに、私たちは何をするにしても、自分の利益を求めるのではなく、キリスト様の愛に動かされて、しているのです。　キリスト様が私たちすべてのために死んでくださったことを信じる以上、自分が、今までの古い生活に対して死んだことも信じなければなりません。　15 キリスト様は、全人類のために死んでくださいました。　それは、キリスト様から永遠のいのちをいただいて生きる人がみな、もはや自分を喜ばせるためではなく、自分のために死んで復活されたキリスト様に喜ばれるように生きるためです。　16 ですから、世間の評判や、外見の良し悪しで、クリスチャンを評価するのはやめなさい。　以前、私は、その誤った考え方で、キリスト様のことを、単に自分と同じ人間とみなしていました。　しかし今では、その考えは一変しました。　17 だれでも、クリスチャンになると、内側が全く新しくされます。　もはや今までと同じ人間ではありません。　新しい人生が始まったのです。
18 この新しい出来事はすべて神様から出ています。　神様は、キリスト・イエスのお働きによって、私たちをご自分のもとに連れ戻してくださいました。　そして、この恵みによる神様との和解を、すべての人に勧める特権をも、私たちに与えてくださったのです。　19 つまり、キリスト様によって、この世をご自分と和解させ、その罪を数え立てずに、かえって、帳消しにしてくださったのです。　これが、人々に伝えるようにと私たちにゆだねられた、すばらしい知らせです。　20 私たちはキリスト様の大使です。　神様が、私たちの口から語りかけるのです。　あたかも、キリスト様がここで懇願しておられるかのように、お願いします。　どうか、せっかく差し出された愛を拒まず、神様と和解してください。　21 というのは、神様は、罪のないキリスト様に私たちの罪を背負わせ、それと引き換えに、私たちに恵みを注いでくださったからです。

2 Corinthians 5

1 For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.2 For verily in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven:3 if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.4 For indeed we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life.5 Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave unto us the earnest of the Spirit.6 Being therefore always of good courage, and knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord7 (for we walk by faith, not by sight);8 we are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.9 Wherefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well-pleasing unto him.10 For we must all be made manifest before the judgment-seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he hath done, whether it be good or bad.11 Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest unto God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.12 We are not again commending ourselves unto you, but speak as giving you occasion of glorying on our behalf, that ye may have wherewith to answer them that glory in appearance, and not in heart.13 For whether we are beside ourselves, it is unto God; or whether we are of sober mind, it is unto you.14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that one died for all, therefore all died;15 and he died for all, that they that live should no longer live unto themselves, but unto him who for their sakes died and rose again.16 Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.17 Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.18 But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto us the ministry of reconciliation;19 to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation.20 We are ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beseech you on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God.21 Him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
