مسکن آسمانی ما

1 اینک می‌دانیم هر گاه این خیمۀ زمینی که در آن سکونت داریم فرو ‌ریزد، عمارتی از خدا داریم، خانه‌ای ناساخته به‌دست و جاودانه در آسمان.2 و براستی که در این خیمه آه می‌کشیم، زیرا مشتاق آنیم که مسکن آسمانی خود را در بر کنیم،3 چرا که با در بر کردنش، عریان یافت نخواهیم شد.4 زیرا تا زمانی که در این خیمه هستیم با گرانباری آه می‌کشیم، چون نمی‌خواهیم جامه از تن به‌در کنیم، بلکه جامه‌ای دیگر به‌تن کنیم، تا فانی غرقِ حیات شود.5 و خداست که ما را برای این مقصود آماده کرده و روح را همچون بیعانه به ما داده است.6 پس همواره دلگرمیم، هر چند می‌دانیم تا زمانی که در این بدن منزل داریم، از خداوند غریبیم،7 زیرا با ایمان زندگی می‌کنیم، نه با دیدار.8 آری، ما چنین دلگرمیم و ترجیح می‌دهیم از بدن غربت جسته، نزد خداوند منزل گیریم.9 پس خواه در بدن منزل داشته باشیم و خواه در غربت از آن به‌سر بریم، این را هدف قرار داده‌ایم که او را خشنود سازیم.10 زیرا همۀ ما باید در برابر مسند داوری مسیح حاضر شویم، تا هر کس بنا بر اعمال خوب یا بدی که در ایام سکونت در بدن خود کرده است، سزا یابد.

خدمت آشتی

11 پس چون معنی ترس خداوند را می‌دانیم، می‌کوشیم مردمان را مجاب کنیم. آنچه هستیم بر خدا آشکار است و امیدوارم بر وجدان شما نیز آشکار باشد.12 نمی‌خواهیم باز شروع به توصیه دربارۀ خود کنیم، بلکه می‌خواهیم دلیلی به شما بدهیم که به ما فخر کنید، تا بتوانید پاسخ کسانی را بدهید که به ظاهر فخر می‌کنند، نه به آنچه در قلب است.13 اگر عقل از کف داده‌ایم، به‌خاطر خداست؛ و اگر عقل سلیم داریم، به‌خاطر شماست.14 زیرا محبت مسیح بر ما حکمفرماست، چون یقین داریم که یک تن به‌خاطر همه مرد، پس همه مردند.15 و به‌خاطر همه مرد تا زندگان دیگر نه برای خود، بلکه برای آن کس زیست کنند که به‌خاطرشان مرد و برخاست.16 بنابراین، از این پس دربارۀ هیچ‌کس با معیارهای بشریt قضاوت نمی‌کنیم، و هر چند پیشتر دربارۀ مسیح این‌گونه قضاوت می‌کردیم، اکنون دیگر چنین نیست.17 پس اگر کسی در مسیح باشد، خلقتی تازه است. چیزهای کهنه درگذشت؛ هان، همه چیز تازه شده است!18 اینها همه از خداست که به‌واسطۀ مسیح ما را با خود آشتی داده و خدمت آشتی را به ما سپرده است.19 به دیگر سخن، خدا در مسیح جهان را با خود آشتی می‌دادt و گناهان مردم را به حسابشان نمی‌گذاشت، و پیام آشتی را به ما سپرد.20 پس سفیران مسیح هستیم، به‌گونه‌ای که خدا از زبان ما شما را به آشتی می‌خوانَد. ما از جانب مسیح از شما استدعا می‌کنیم که با خدا آشتی کنید.21 او کسی را که گناه را نشناخت، در راه ما گناه ساخت،t تا ما در وی پارساییِ خدا شویم.

2 CORINTHIANS 5

1  t Our bodies are like tents that we live in here on earth. But when these tents are destroyed, we know that God will give each of us a place to live. These homes will not be buildings someone has made, but they are in heaven and will last forever. 2 While we are here on earth, we sigh because we want to live in that heavenly home.

3 We want to put it on like clothes and not be naked.
4 These tents we now live in are like a heavy burden, and we groan. But we don't do this just because we want to leave these bodies that will die. It is because we want to change them for bodies that will never die. 5 God is the one who makes all this possible. He has given us his Spirit to make us certain he will do it.

6 So always be cheerful!
As long as we are in these bodies, we are away from the Lord. 7 But we live by faith, not by what we see. 8 We should be cheerful, because we would rather leave these bodies and be at home with the Lord. 9 But whether we are at home with the Lord or away from him, we still try our best to please him.

10 t After all, Christ will judge each of us for the good or the bad that we do while living in these bodies.

Bringing People to God

12 We are not trying once more to brag about ourselves. But we want you to be proud of us, when you are with those who are not sincere and brag about what others think of them.
13 If we seem out of our minds, it is between God and us. But if we are in our right minds, it is for your good. 14 We are ruled by Christ's love for us. We are certain that if one person died for everyone else, then all of us have died.

15 And Christ did die for all of us. He died so we would no longer live for ourselves, but for the one who died and was raised to life for us.
16 We are careful not to judge people by what they seem to be, though we once judged Christ in this way. 17 Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new.

18 God has done it all! He sent Christ to make peace between himself and us, and he has given us the work of making peace between himself and others.
19 What we mean is that God was in Christ, offering peace and forgiveness to the people of this world. And he has given us the work of sharing his message about peace. 20 We were sent to speak for Christ, and God is begging you to listen to our message. We speak for Christ and sincerely ask you to make peace with God. 21 Christ never sinned! But God treated him as a sinner, so Christ could make us acceptable to God.
