2 Corintios 5

1 Sabemos que Dios nos tiene preparado un templo construido en el cielo para cuando nuestra carpa en este mundot sea destruida. Esa casa durará para siempre porque no ha sido construida por manos humanas.2 Nos quejamos mientras vivimos en este cuerpo, pues quisiéramos que Dios nos vistiera con nuestro cuerpo celestial3 para no seguir desnudos una vez que el cuerpo se nos quite.4 Mientras vivimos dentro de esta carpa, sufrimos y gemimos porque no quisiéramos que nos la quitaran. Más bien quisiéramos ser revestidos con un cuerpo celestial para que nuestro cuerpo mortal quede totalmente cubierto de vida.

5 Dios es quien nos ha preparado para esto y nos ha dado su Espíritu como adelanto que garantiza que cumplirá sus promesas.
6 Por eso siempre estamos confiados. Sabemos que mientras vivamos en esta carpa estaremos lejos de nuestro hogar con el Señor.7 Pues vivimos por la fe y no por lo que vemos.8 Tenemos confianza y preferimos dejar este cuerpo e ir a vivir en ese hogar con el Señor.9 Nuestro único propósito es agradar a Dios, ya sea que estemos viviendo en nuestro hogar o lejos de él.

10 Porque todos debemos presentarnos ante Cristo para que nos juzgue y cada uno recibirá el pago por todo lo bueno o malo que haya hecho mientras estaba en el cuerpo.

La reconciliación con Dios

11 Sabemos lo que significa el temor al Señor y por eso queremos convencerlos a todos de que acepten la verdad. Dios nos conoce tal como somos y espero que ustedes en su corazón también nos conozcan tal como somos.12 Esto no quiere decir que nos estemos alabando a nosotros mismos. Al contrario, queremos darles una razón para que se sientan orgullosos de nosotros y que tengan una respuesta para aquellos que se sienten orgullosos de las apariencias y no de lo que hay en su corazón.13 Si estamos locos, es para Dios; y si estamos cuerdos, es para ustedes.14 El amor de Cristo nos controla, pues estamos convencidos de que uno murió por todos, y por eso todos han muerto.

15 El murió por todos para que los que viven no sigan viviendo para sí mismos, sino para él, quien murió y resucitó por ellos.
16 Por eso, desde este momento, no vemos a los demás como lo hace todo el mundo. Es cierto que en el pasado veíamos a Cristo de esa manera, pero ahora no lo vemos como un hombre cualquiera.17 Si alguien está unido a Cristo, hay una nueva creación. Lo viejo ha desaparecido y todo queda renovado.t18 Todo lo nuevo viene de Dios, quien nos ha reconciliado con él a través de Cristo y nos ha dado el trabajo de reconciliar a toda la gente con él.19 Lo que quiero decir es que a través de Cristo, Dios estaba tratando de reconciliar al mundo con él, sin tener en cuenta los pecados de nadie. Ese es el mensaje de reconciliación que nos encargó anunciar.20 Así que hemos sido enviados para hablar en el nombre de Cristo. Es como si Dios estuviera llamando a la gente a través de nosotros. Hablamos por Cristo cuando les rogamos a ustedes que se reconcilien con Dios.

21 Aunque Cristo no tenía ningún pecado, Dios lo hizo cargar con los nuestros para que por medio de él fuéramos la evidencia de que Dios está dispuesto a dar su aprobación a los seres humanos.

2 Corinthians 5

The Temporal and Eternal

1 For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.2 For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,3 inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked.4 For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.5 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.

6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord-7 for we walk by faith, not by sight-8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.9 Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.12 We are not again commending ourselves to you but are giving you an occasion to be proud of us, so that you will have an answer for those who take pride in appearance and not in heart.13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died;15 and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

16 Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer.17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
