2 Coríntios 5

1 Sabemos que, se esta tenda em que vivemos aqui na terra—o nosso corpo—for destruída, temos um edifício que é de Deus para morar. É uma casa eterna no céu, e que não foi feita por mãos humanas.2 Enquanto estamos nesta tenda, nós nos queixamos, desejando mudar para a nossa habitação que vem do céu3 e que nos cobrirá como uma roupa, para que não fiquemos nus.4 De fato, nós que estamos nesta tenda, que é o nosso corpo, temos dificuldades e queixas, pois não queremos ser despidos. Ao contrário! Nós queremos nos vestir para que aquilo que é mortal seja absorvido pela vida.

5 Foi Deus quem nos preparou para isto e nos deu o seu Espíritot como garantia de que Ele vai nos dar tudo o que prometeu.
6 Portanto, nós estamos sempre confiantes porque sabemos que, enquanto vivermos neste corpo, estamos ausentes do Senhor.7 Pois vivemos pela nossa fé e não por aquilo que podemos ver.8 Nós estamos confiantes e preferimos deixar nossos corpos para ir morar com o Senhor.9 E é por isso que também nos esforçamos para ser agradáveis a Deus, quer vivamos neste corpo, na terra, ou na presença do Senhor, no céu.

10 Todos nós temos que comparecer diante de Cristo para sermos julgados. Cada um receberá o que merece. Seremos julgados de acordo com o bem ou o mal que tivermos feito enquanto vivemos neste corpo terrestre.

Ajudando as pessoas a serem amigas de Deus

11 Portanto, uma vez que sabemos o que quer dizer temer ao Senhor, nós tentamos convencer as pessoas a aceitarem a verdade. Deus nos conhece completamente e espero que vocês também nos conheçam completamente.12 Não estamos falando bem de nós mesmos para vocês novamente. Pelo contrário, estamos lhes dando uma oportunidade de terem orgulho de nós. Assim, vocês vão ter o que responder para aqueles que se orgulham das coisas que podem ser vistas, e não se importam com o que está no coração.13 Pois, se enlouquecemos, é para Deus; e se temos juízo, é para o bem de vocês.14 O amor de Cristo nos domina, pois determinamos isto: Um morreu por todos, portanto todos morreram.

15 E Ele morreu por todos, para que os que vivem não vivam mais para si mesmos, mas vivam para aquele que morreu e ressuscitou por todos.
16 De agora em diante, nós não consideramos ninguém da maneira como o mundo considera. É verdade que antes considerávamos a Cristo como o mundo considera, mas agora já não é assim que pensamos.17 E assim, se alguém está em Cristo, é uma nova criatura. As coisas velhas já passaram; tudo é novo!18 Tudo isto vem de Deus, que estabeleceu a paz entre nós e Ele por meio de Cristo. E Deus nos deu a responsabilidade de estabelecer a paz entre Ele e todos.19 Isto é: Deus estava em Cristo, estabelecendo paz entre o mundo e Ele mesmo. Em Cristo, Deus não condena o mundo por seus pecados, e Ele mesmo nos deu esta mensagem de paz.20 Portanto, nós fomos enviados para falar em nome de Cristo, e é como se Deus estivesse chamando as pessoas por nosso intermédio. Em nome de Cristo, nós suplicamos a vocês: Façam as pazes com Deus.

21 Cristo não tinha nenhum pecado, mas Deus colocou sobre Ele a culpa dos nossos pecados. Dessa forma nós pudemos ser declarados justos diante de Deus por meio de Cristo.

2 Corinthians 5

The Temporal and Eternal

1 For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.2 For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,3 inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked.4 For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.5 Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.

6 Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord-7 for we walk by faith, not by sight-8 we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.9 Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men, but we are made manifest to God; and I hope that we are made manifest also in your consciences.12 We are not again commending ourselves to you but are giving you an occasion to be proud of us, so that you will have an answer for those who take pride in appearance and not in heart.13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died;15 and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

16 Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer.17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.18 Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
