ペテロの第二の手紙 2

二

1 しかし、これらの預言者の活躍していた時代にも、偽預言者は現われました。　同様に、あなたがたの中にも偽教師が現われます。彼らは神様について、巧妙なうそをつき、自分を買い取ってくださった主に対してさえ、逆らおうとします。　しかし、彼らを待っているのは、突然襲いかかる恐ろしい最期です。　2 性的な罪のどこが悪いと、居直る彼らの教えに、多くの人がつり込まれることでしょう。そして、ひいては、キリスト様とその教えとが、笑いものにされるでしょう。
3 偽教師連中は貪欲で、人のふところをねらうためには、手段を選ばないのです。　しかし神様は昔から、そんな連中をきびしく罰してこられました。　連中の滅びは、目前に迫っています。　4 神様は、御使いでさえ、罪を犯した場合は少しも手加減せず、地獄に投げ落とし、審判の日まで、無気味なほら穴の暗やみに、鎖につないで閉じ込めました。　5 また、大昔、洪水前の人たちにも、神様のことばを語ったノアとその家族七人を除いて、少しの容赦もされなかったではありませんか。　そして、神様を恐れない者の住む世界を、大洪水によって滅ぼしてしまいました。6 また神様は、ソドムとゴモラの町を灰の山と変え、地上から消し去りました。　それは、後世の、神様を無視する者へのみせしめであり、それによって、彼らが神様を恐れるようになるためです。
7-8 しかし、同時に主は、ロトをソドムから無事に救い出してくださいました。　ロトが正しい人だったからです。　ソドムに住んでいた彼は、来る日も来る日も、身の毛もよだつ恐ろしい悪事を見て、心を痛めていたのです。　9 このように、主は私たちを、さまざまな誘惑から必ず救い出してくださいます。　しかし、神様を恐れない人々には、最後の審判の日まで、次々と罰が下るのです。　10 汚れた欲望に身を任せている者や、高慢で自己中心で、栄誉を受けた人たちを少しも恐れず、かえってあざけるような者には、主は特にきびしい態度で臨まれるのです。　11 主の前に仕える御使いでさえ、これら偽教師より、はるかにまさった力と権威とを持つにもかかわらず、不正な者に、主の前で非難を浴びせたりはしません。
12 しかし、偽教師連中は畜生にも劣るのです。　彼らは、したいほうだいのことをしています。　まるで、捕らえられ、殺されるために生まれてきたようなものです。　何も知らずに、見えない世界の恐るべき力をあざ笑っているのです。　彼らが、悪霊や地獄の勢力と共に滅ぼされるのは、目に見えています。
13 それが、偽教師たちを待つ運命です。　彼らの罪からすれば、当然のことです。　来る日も来る日も、悪の楽しみにふけっているのですから。　彼らがあなたがたの間にもぐり込んでいることは、不名誉な面汚しです。　つまり、彼らは正直者を装って、愛の交わりに加わりながら、一方では、胸のむかつくような罪の生活を送って、あなたがたをだましているのです。　14 その罪に濁った視線は、どんな女性をも逃がしません。　しかも、彼らのみだらな行為は底なし沼で、うわついた女を誘惑するゲームに熱中しています。　そして、ますます貪欲になり、ついには、わが身を滅ぼしてしまうのです。　まさにのろわれた者たちです。　15 進むべき道を踏み誤った彼らは、不正によって得た金を愛したベオルの子バラムのように、さまよい続けています。　16 もっともバラムは、狂った道をそれ以上進まないようにと、警告を受けました。　自分のろばに、人間の声でしかられた、という旧約聖書の記事を、読んだことがあるでしょう。
17 このような偽教師は、干上がった泉のように、何の役にも立ちません。　口約束を重ねるばかりで、何一つ実行しようとしないのです。　まるで嵐に吹き飛ばされる雲のように、少しも落ち着きがありません。　その行く手に待ちかまえているのは、暗やみにおおわれた、永遠の落とし穴です。　18 彼らは臆面もなく、自分の罪と誘惑の手柄話を語ります。　つまり、肉欲をえさにして、やっとの思いで罪の生活から足を洗った人たちを、もう一度、罪へ誘い込もうとしているのです。
19 彼らはこう言います。　「善人になったからって、救われるもんじゃないんだよ。　それなら、いっそのこと、悪いことをしたほうが、ましじゃないか。　やりたいことは、やればいい。それが自由というもんだ。」
しかし、このように、おきてからの「自由」を教えながら、実は自分が、罪と滅びの奴隷になっているのです。　何かに支配された人は、その奴隷です。　20 主であり、救い主であるイエス・キリストについて学び、この世の悪い生活から、いったん足を洗った人が、またもとの罪の生活に舞い戻り、その奴隷になるなら、その状態は以前より、もっと悪くなるでしょう。　21 キリスト様を知ったあとで、目の前のきよい戒めに背を向けるくらいなら、キリスト様について何にも知らなかったほうが、はるかにましです。　22 古いことわざに、「犬は自分が吐いた物をなめ、豚はいくら洗ってやっても、どろの中をころげ回る」というのがありますが、まさに罪の生活に舞い戻る人々に、ぴったりのことばではありませんか。

2 Peter 2

1 But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.2 And many shall follow their lascivious doings; by reason of whom the way of the truth shall be evil spoken of.3 And in covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose sentence now from of old lingereth not, and their destruction slumbereth not.4 For if God spared not angels when they sinned, but cast them down to hell, and committed them to pits of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;5 and spared not the ancient world, but preserved Noah with seven others, a preacher of righteousness, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, having made them an example unto those that should live ungodly;7 and delivered righteous Lot, sore distressed by the lascivious life of the wicked8 (for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their lawless deeds):9 the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment unto the day of judgment;10 but chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of defilement, and despise dominion. Daring, self-willed, they tremble not to rail at dignities:11 whereas angels, though greater in might and power, bring not a railing judgment against them before the Lord.12 But these, as creatures without reason, born mere animals to be taken and destroyed, railing in matters whereof they are ignorant, shall in their destroying surely be destroyed,13 suffering wrong as the hire of wrong-doing; men that count it pleasure to revel in the day-time, spots and blemishes, revelling in their deceivings while they feast with you;14 having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; enticing unstedfast souls; having a heart exercised in covetousness; children of cursing;15 forsaking the right way, they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the hire of wrong-doing;16 but he was rebuked for his own transgression: a dumb ass spake with man’s voice and stayed the madness of the prophet.17 These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm; for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved.18 For, uttering great swelling words of vanity, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by lasciviousness, those who are just escaping from them that live in error;19 promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he also brought into bondage.20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first.21 For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered unto them.22 It has happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog turning to his own vomit again, and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire.
