Falsos mestres

1 Contudo, assim como surgiram falsos profetas no meio do povo de Israelt, também haverá entre vocês falsos mestres. Eles se intrometerão entre vocês com doutrinas destruidoras e chegarão até a negar o Mestre que comprou a liberdade deles. Agindo assim, eles farão com que uma repentina destruição caia sobre si mesmos.2 Muitas pessoas seguirão as suas práticas imorais e, por causa deles, o caminho verdadeiro será difamado.

3 E também, movidos pela avareza, esses falsos mestres explorarão a vocês, contando-lhes coisas que eles mesmos inventaram. O julgamento contra eles foi determinado há muito tempo atrás e eles não escaparão daquele que vai destruí-los.
4 Pois Deus nem sequer poupou os anjos que pecaram, mas lançou-os em abismos de escuridão e ali eles ficarão presos até o julgamento.5 Deus também não poupou o mundo antigo, mas fez vir o dilúvio sobre aquele mundo de pessoas más. Ele preservou somente a Noé, que era quem anunciava a justiça, e mais sete pessoas.6 Deus também destruiu as cidades de Sodoma e Gomorrat, reduzindo-as a cinzas. Ele fez com que elas servissem de exemplo do que vai acontecer aos maus.7 Mas, ao mesmo tempo, Deus livrou a Ló, homem bom que sofria por causa da vida sensual daquela gente perversa.8 (Ló era um homem correto, mas viver entre aquela gente fazia com que o seu bom coração sofresse por causa dos pecados que via e ouvia entre eles todos os dias).9 Assim, o Senhor sabe livrar das dificuldades aqueles que o servem e reservar aqueles que praticam a maldade para castigo no dia do julgamento.

10 Ele reserva especialmente aqueles que, seguindo sua natureza pecadora, vivem em imundas paixões e desprezam a autoridade do Senhor.
Tais pessoas são atrevidas, arrogantes e não têm medo de falar mal dos seres celestiais.11 Porém nem mesmo os anjos, que têm mais força e poder do que essas pessoas, se atrevem a falar mal delas na presença de Deus.12 Estas pessoas são como animais irracionais, que agem pelo instinto e que nasceram para serem caçados e mortos. Elas falam mal de coisas que não entendem. Assim como os animais são destruídos, estes falsos mestres também serão destruídos13 e sofrerão o dano como salário pelo dano que causaram. Eles têm prazer em satisfazer os seus próprios desejos em pleno dia. Eles são uma vergonha e um escândalo e se divertem com seus prazeres enganosos enquanto participam das festas de vocês.14 Eles estão sempre procurando uma mulher para cometer adultério e não se cansam de pecar. Eles levam as pessoas mais fracas a pecarem. Seus corações estão treinados na avareza e eles mesmos são gente maldita.15 Eles abandonaram o caminho do bem e se perderam. Eles seguiram o caminho de Balaão, filho de Beor, que amou o dinheiro ganho pelo mal que fez.

16 Mas ele foi repreendido por causa do seu pecado, pois um jumento que naturalmente não fala, falou com voz humana e impediu que o profetat seguisse em sua loucura.
17 Esses falsos mestres são como fontes sem água, como nuvens que são levadas pela tempestade. Para eles está reservado um lugar na mais densa escuridão.18 Eles se orgulham inutilmente e, apelando para os desejos sexuais, seduzem as pessoas que estavam começando a escapar dos que vivem no erro.19 Eles prometem liberdade, mas eles mesmos são escravos de hábitos corruptos, pois aquele que é vencido se torna escravo do vencedor.20 Eles escaparam das contaminações do mundo por terem conhecido a nosso Senhor e Salvador Jesus Cristo. Mas, se eles se deixam envolver de novo e são vencidos por elas, o seu último estado se torna pior do que o primeiro.21 Pois teria sido melhor para eles nunca terem conhecido o caminho do bem do que, após conhecê-lo, se desviarem do mandamento santo que lhes fora dado.

22 Com eles aconteceu o que diz um certo ditado: "O cão voltou ao seu próprio vômito"t; e "a porca, depois de lavada, voltou a rolar na lama".

The Rise of False Prophets

1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.2 Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned;3 and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment;5 and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly;6 and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter;7 and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men8 (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds),9  then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,

10 and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority.
Daring, self-willed, they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties,11 whereas angels who are greater in might and power do not bring a reviling judgment against them before the Lord.12 But these, like unreasoning animals, born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, reviling where they have no knowledge, will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed,13 suffering wrong as the wages of doing wrong. They count it a pleasure to revel in the daytime. They are stains and blemishes, reveling in their tdeceptions, as they carouse with you,14 having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls, having a heart trained in greed, accursed children;15 forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;16 but he received a rebuke for his own transgression, for a mute donkey, speaking with a voice of a man, restrained the madness of the prophet.

17 These are springs without water and mists driven by a storm, for whom the black darkness has been reserved.18 For speaking out arrogant words of vanity they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error,19 promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved.20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.21 For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them.22 It has happened to them according to the true proverb, "A DOG RETURNS TO ITS OWN VOMIT," and, "A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire."
