אגרת פולוס השנייה אל-התסלוניקים 1

א

1 אל קהילת תסלוניקי השייכת לאלוהים אבינו ולישוע המשיח אדוננו.
מאת פולוס, סילוונוס וטימותיוס.

2 שלום וברכה מאת האלוהים אבינו וישוע המשיח אדוננו.

3 אחים יקרים, אנו מרגישים חובה נעימה להודות לאלוהים על שאמונתכם התחזקה מאוד, ועל שאהבתכם איש לרעהו גדלה כל-כך.

4 אנחנו אף מתגאים בכם לפני הקהילות האחרות, כי הוכחתם מה חזק כוח-הסבל שלכם ומה איתנה אמונתכם באלוהים, למרות כל הרדיפות והצרות הבאות עליכם.

5 אלוהים חפץ שתהיו ראויים למלכותו אשר למענה אתם סובלים, והוא יוכיח לכם שהוא שופט בצדק.

6 כיצד הוא יוכיח לכם זאת? בהענישו את רודפיכם,

7 ובהעניקו לכם, הנרדפים, רווחה והקלה יחד איתנו, כשישוע המשיח יופיע בשמים עם מלאכיו בלהבת-אש,

8 כדי להעניש את אלה שסירבו להאמין באלוהים ובתוכניתו להושיעם באמצעות ישוע המשיח אדוננו.

9 עונשם יהיה אבדון עולם - ניתוק מפני האדון ומהדרת כוחו,

10 ביום שיבוא האדון להתכבד בקדושיו. אתם תהיו בין הקדושים האלה, כי האמנתם למה שסיפרנו לכם עליו.

11 לפיכך אנו תמיד מתפללים שאלוהים יעשה אתכם ראויים לו, שימלא בגבורתו את כל משאלותיכם הטובות, ושיצליח את מעשיכם הנעשים מתוך אמונה בו,

12 כדי ששם ישוע המשיח יהיה מפואר ומכובד באמצעותכם, וכדי שגם אתם תיקחו חלק בכבוד הזה, לפי מידת חסדו של אלוהינו ואדוננו ישוע המשיח.

2 Thessalonians 1

Salutation

1 From Pault and Silvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonianss in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Grace and peace to yout from God thes Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

Thanksgiving

3 We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters,t and rightly so,t because your faith flourishes more and more and the love of each one of you all for one another is ever greater.

4 As a result we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions you are enduring.

Encouragement in Persecution

5 This is evidence of God’s righteous judgment, to make you worthyt of the kingdom of God, for which in fact you are suffering.6 For it is rightt for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,7 and to you who are being afflicted to give rest together with us when the Lord Jesus is revealedt from heaven with his mighty angels.t8 With flaming fire he will mete outtpunishment on those who do not know Gods and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.9 Theyt will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength,ts10 when he comes to be glorified among his saints and admiredt on that day among all who have believed – and you did in fact believe our testimony.t11 And in this regard we pray for you always, that our God will make you worthy of his callingt and fulfill by his power your every desire for goodness and every work of faith,

12 that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according tot the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
