2 Tesszalonika 1

1 Pál, Szilvánusz és Timóteus a thesszalonikai gyülekezetnek, Istenben, a mi Atyánkban és az Úr Jézus Krisztusban.2 Kegyelem néktek és békesség, Istentől, a mi Atyánktól és az Úr Jézus Krisztustól.3 Mindenkor hálaadással tartozunk Istennek, atyámfiai, érettetek, mégpedig méltán, mert hitetek felettébb növekedik, és mindnyájatokban gyarapszik az egymás iránti szeretet.4 Úgyhogy mi magunk is dicsekszünk kitartásotokkal és hitetekkel az Isten gyülekezeteiben, amelyet minden üldöztetések és szorongattatások között elviseltek,

5 bizonyságaként Isten igazságos ítéletének, hogy méltónak ítéltessetek Isten országára, amelyért szenvedtek is.
6 Mert igazságos dolog az Isten előtt, hogy szorongattatással fizessen azoknak, akik titeket szorongatnak,7 nektek pedig, akik velünk együtt szorongattattok nyugalommal, amikor megjelenik az Úr Jézus az égből hatalmas angyalaival,8 lángoló tűzben. Akkor megítéli azokat, akik nem ismerik az Istent, és akik nem engedelmeskednek a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztus evangéliumának,9 akik örök pusztulással fognak lakolni távol az Úrtól és hatalmának dicsőségétől

10 azon a napon, amikor majd eljön, hogy megdicsőüljön az ő szentjeiben, és csodálják híveiben, ahogyan ti is hittetek bizonyságtételünknek.
11 Ezért imádkozunk is mindenkor értetek, hogy a mi Istenünk méltónak tartson titeket az elhívásra, és töltsön be titeket a jóban való teljes gyönyörűséggel és a hitnek cselekedeteivel,

12 hogy megdicsőüljön bennetek a mi Urunk Jézus Krisztus neve, és ti is őbenne, a mi Istenünknek és az Úr Jézus Krisztusnak kegyelméből.

2 Grace and peace to yout from God thes Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

Thanksgiving

3 We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters,t and rightly so,t because your faith flourishes more and more and the love of each one of you all for one another is ever greater.

4 As a result we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions you are enduring.

Encouragement in Persecution

5 This is evidence of God’s righteous judgment, to make you worthyt of the kingdom of God, for which in fact you are suffering.6 For it is rightt for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,7 and to you who are being afflicted to give rest together with us when the Lord Jesus is revealedt from heaven with his mighty angels.t8 With flaming fire he will mete outtpunishment on those who do not know Gods and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.9 Theyt will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength,ts10 when he comes to be glorified among his saints and admiredt on that day among all who have believed – and you did in fact believe our testimony.t11 And in this regard we pray for you always, that our God will make you worthy of his callingt and fulfill by his power your every desire for goodness and every work of faith,

12 that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according tot the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
