Druga poslanica Solunjanima 1

1 Ovo je pismo od Pavla, Sile i Timoteja solunskoj Crkvi koja je u Bogu, našemu Ocu, i u Gospodinu Isusu Kristu.2 Neka vam je milost i mir od Boga Oca i od Gospodina Isusa Krista.

Ohrabrenje u progonstvu

3 Draga braćo i sestre, ne možemo a da uvijek ne zahvaljujemo Bogu za vas, za vašu vjeru koja jača i za vašu veliku međusobnu ljubav.4 Ponosno govorimo drugim Božjim crkvama o vašoj postojanoj vjeri u progonstvima i u nevoljama koje trpite.5 One su samo najava pravednoga Božjeg suda na kojemu će vas Bog proglasiti dostojnima svojega Kraljevstva za koje i trpite.6 Bog će pravedno kazniti vaše progonitelje patnjom,7 a vama progonjenima, kao i nama, dati spokoj kad se s neba objavi Gospodin Isus. On će doći s moćnim anđelima8 i s plamenim ognjem te donijeti osvetu onima koji ne priznaju Boga i ne žele se pokoriti Radosnoj vijesti o našemu Gospodinu Isusu Kristu.9 Bit će kažnjeni vječnom propašću, zauvijek odvojeni od Gospodnjega lica i od njegove silne slave

10 na dan kada on dođe primiti slavu i čast od svojega svetog naroda, od svih vjernika. Među njima ste i vi jer ste povjerovali našemu svjedočanstvu o njemu.
11 Zato se stalno molimo za vas, da vas Bog učini dostojnima života na koji vas je pozvao i da on svojom snagom dovrši svaku vašu dobru nakanu i svako dobro djelo -

12 da bi zbog vas svi slavili ime našega Gospodina Isusa te da i vi budete proslavljeni u njemu po milosti našega Boga i Gospodina Isusa Krista.

2 Thessalonians 1

Salutation

1 From Pault and Silvanus and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonianss in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Grace and peace to yout from God thes Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

Thanksgiving

3 We ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters,t and rightly so,t because your faith flourishes more and more and the love of each one of you all for one another is ever greater.

4 As a result we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and afflictions you are enduring.

Encouragement in Persecution

5 This is evidence of God’s righteous judgment, to make you worthyt of the kingdom of God, for which in fact you are suffering.6 For it is rightt for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,7 and to you who are being afflicted to give rest together with us when the Lord Jesus is revealedt from heaven with his mighty angels.t8 With flaming fire he will mete outtpunishment on those who do not know Gods and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.9 Theyt will undergo the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his strength,ts10 when he comes to be glorified among his saints and admiredt on that day among all who have believed – and you did in fact believe our testimony.t11 And in this regard we pray for you always, that our God will make you worthy of his callingt and fulfill by his power your every desire for goodness and every work of faith,

12 that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according tot the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
